| I was simply wondering if some people were like me and just prefered series that are ''worse'' than other on a same base material. To illustrate my point, I'll take Fate/Stay Night, that I prefered a little bit over Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works and Fate/zero, while I hear that FSN is the worse of the serie, according to almost everyone else. Anyone in that case? |

| UBW is worse than /Zero, but has slightly better animation and digital effects, but that's like comparing a 10/10 to a 10.3/10. UBW had weaker characters, and much weaker story line, and has characters disappear, which is annoying. However, it has awesome action, great OPs, actually decent EDs (the ones in /Zero were boring), and a nice epilogue. I still say that /Zero trumps this in almost every aspect. |

| Of course fate/Loli Liner Yuri is awesome, yet I don,t know myself why I like more FSN over the rest. I think I have a thing for early 2000 animes, even though it's one of the period that I know the less, I just loved what I watched from it : Rozen maiden, Black Lagoon and FSN. I think there is a little something in the animation and the songs ^^ |

| Yeah, I'm tlaking more about spinoffs, except when the sequel/prequel REALLy differs from the original work so that you can have a clear preference for one or another. Yet I don't know myself why the FSN route is my favourite so far, I know that Zero and UBW are objectively better, and that's why I'm asking that question ^^ |

| i do think the old fate stay night is more entertaining than the new one, mostly cause of the unintentionally funny scenes, i felt bored with the UFO version most of the time |

She didn't even budge in the area just so Shirou could run back to her at the bridge like in a typical Korean drama. | For most people it depends on how different the two compared anime are, I think. For example some people hate the second season of Darker the Black because of the differences with the first season, at the same time those same differences made people that hated S1 like S2. With anime vs source material, from what I've seen people will usually prefer the source material. Unless it's an action heavy series that is; colors, ost, voice acting and animation tip the scales too hard in an anime's favor compared to its source in this case. |

| I like the Eva rebuilds more than the original and Arise more than SAC (though the original movie is the best of the franchise). The rebuilds lose out on certain "iconic" scenes as people have called them (like Shinji waiting at te train station and he and Misato sitting in silence for 3 minutes) but were more focused on the battles (in the first movie) and what made those battles important in terms of character development. These ideas were, of course, all included in the original show, but the movies framed them more concisely. In the second movie, it's almost entirely focused on the character interactions and I feel much the same way about the this movie and te part of the show it covers, only this time with Asuka. Haven't watched the 3rd one yet. Arise is simply a good action flick with simple themes that relating to cybernetic technology. It builds up nicely and has some of my favorite fight scenes. SAC is a partly episodic cop drama. It's plot is good and it's better at the scifi elements than many shows of the genre, but I think people puff that aspect up too much. It's stand alone episodes do well at exploring some implications of the cyberpunk setting but are honestly kind of boring aside from that. Those implications are interesting to think about at first, and some add to characterization, but I'd rather see the far more interesting plot unfold and the characters aren't strong enough to make it much more than an above average scifi for me. I don't have any real issue with it aside from OST (which isn't bad on its own but is unfitting) and art, I remembered it looking good but upon rewatch the models look like shit and the setting design is terribly boring. The whole show is pretty average looking in most parts. Arise's soundtrack isn't as listenable outside of the show, but it's more important that it fits and damn does that OST fit the atmosphere. Art is comparable, the character designs have lower quality but better design (less lumpy but don't look/feel as much like the original design). Anyway, the original GitS almost matches the intense fights of Arise while outclassing both in themes and aesthetic by a landslide. |

| I won't say I like it more than it's prequel, but I loved Nisemonogatari, who is considered the weakest entry of the Monogatari Series, despite the things people says ruined it (extreme fanservice, more lighhearted than it's predecessor...). |
