| 1999 expands on some parts with anime-original content that wasn't in the manga. 2011 goes beyond where 1999 ends. Otherwise, I believe the story is essentially the same. |

| The story wasn't different like FMA, but HxH 1999 is just expanding the manga story, expecially the Hunter exam arc. In my opinion as a HxH fan, 1999 version is better than 2011 without Chimera Arc. |

Otherwise, they're 95% the same as each other, and the 1999 version is basically obsolete. | Story no, but depiction differs a lot, many fans can take it but i can't, that's why '99 > 2011 for me. Content cut/change in early episode, let my hype down in instant, and it turn into salty me. Tonpa slyness, hallutination honey, and leorio's dream become complete MEH. Well.. whatever, see both or just take 2011 TC. |
| just watch 1999 until the end of the 2nd arc, then go to 2011 at episode 26 to 37, switch back to the beginning of yorkshin in 1999 to the end and then you watch what's left in 2011 |

| @FunkiTV before this thread turn into war listen to my advice : if you enjoy anime with old art style ( before using pc draws ) watch the 1999 , and this also the case if you enjoy anime before 2000 , now as , is there a diffrence ? Not realy , perhabs some scene are longer in 1999 , because back then the directors thought they should have thier touch in adapting the manga . So watch 1999 up until the start of green island arc , then start the 2011 , forget which one is better , both are great . Perhabs even watch both |
