What if the Fourth Shinobi War arc was actually good?

In my opinion, everything after the Pain arc is a humongous waste of potential. I understand the writer was running on fumes after 10+ years of writing, but if the war arc was actually good, Naruto would be probabaly be respected as a good show. So I decided to completely rewrite all that. Without further ado, here's my take.

1. Do the romance between Naruto and Hinata immediately afterward. I have no idea why Kishimoto waited to do this until after the manga ended, so just do it and please the fans.

2. *SPOILERS* The masked man/Tobi is NOT Obito. Seriously, this came out of nowhere, and I think we can all agree Obito was kind of an annoying character. Just make him like the Joker or something. No identity. Pure evil cuz reasons.

3. KILL SAKURA. KILL HER. DO IT. Do I even need to explain? Her entire character is basically her love for Sasuke and the fact that she will never be stronger than the rest of her team. How compelling, I know. You might as well kill off every other female character besides Hinata and Tsunade.

Now we get to the story. So after Pain revives everyone and Naruto becomes a hero, Tobi decides "Hey, I think I wanna take over the world. You guys okay with that?" and threatens to unleash the tailed beasts they already have if the nations refuse to give them their own. Everybody except Gaara and Naruto has their tailed beasts extracted. It's a much smarter way of going around collecting giant monsters. I decided to scrap that rapping octopus dude since nobody likes racist stereotypes. Meanwhile, that whole romance jiz between Naruto and Hinata is happening and stuff. Tobi decides to attack the Sand village with his tailed beasts and almost kills everyone. Naruto gets all angry and decides to turn himself in, having heard Pain's plan and being kinda okay with it. However, Tobi is kinda insane and isn't really following that. Naruto realizes this and tries to go back home. Sakura tries to help him but gets killed by Sasuke (YES!). Having had most of the Nine Tails extracted from him, Naruto's pretty weak but manages to escape. The Akatsuki go crazy on the Leaf Village, killing everyone and stuff. Naruto has an epic fight with Sasuke with some help from Hinata and kills him like Superman snapped Zod's neck. He starts crying. I'm just happy Sasuke is dead. The rest of Sasuke's team and that shark dude are killed, leaving Tobi. Tobi releases the incomplete Nine Tails and the final fight begins. Doesn't get much poetic that ANOTHER Nine Tails attack on the village. I guess you could make the fight super stretched out and epic. Eventually they manage to reseal it. Naruto has an epic solo battle with Tobi and wins. Naruto becomes the Hokage. THE END.

that would be actually very cool, with maybe the crow uchia eye coming out before the final fight and naruto acuatlly using it as his own eye, ultimate powerup

If the 4th Shinobi War was actually good, I'd actually be a Naruto fan again. But it isn't. Everything after Kakuzu and the Rasenshuriken was going insane. Pain arc was a good place to end it, but no. They have to milk the ninja cash cow.

How the hell would the Pain arc be a good place to end it? That wouldn't resolve the biggest fucking plotline of the series: Naruto and Sasuke and their friendship/rivalry.

Yeah the war arc is not good, it's great.

I disagree with your fixes to say the least, they are quite contradictory and the complete opposite of what I consider good writing.

Yeah, the finale was terrible. I had been a Naruto fan for a long time, but after the Pain arc, I lost all sympathy I had for it. Kishimoto should have arranged the events in such a way that the story concluded with the death of Pain.

Here is my opinion - compared to Sakura, Hinata is one dimensional garbage character who is nothing more than Naruto's satellite through the entire series, and most of her sentences are Naruto-kun.

That's just what I think.

I do admit Sakura deserved better treatment by Kishi.
