| I think it would be interesting a tool that shows a calendar in which you can click on a particular day, or pick a specific date to see which characters have birthdays that day. It may be interesting also create filters that shown all the characters birthday, only the characters from animes you have watched, only the characters from favorite animes or just favorite characters. It may be possible to configure alerts based on the same filters for showing notifications on the characters's birthdays that interest you. MAL already has the birthdays's information of all the characters, so I think this would not be so complicated. If this idea already exist somewhere, sorry, I searched and did not find any topic related to it. EDIT: Ok, it hasnt for ALL characters, but it has for a lot of them.... That's his birth year and not his age. Dragon Ball starts in 749 where he is 12. Dragon Ball Z starts around 760 where he in his twenties. Buu appears in 774 where Goku is 37. 778 is when Dragon Ball Super starts. The character's birthday is usually revealed in databooks and such. For example Goku's birth year was revealed in Daizenshuu 7: Dragon Ball Encyclopedia which was released in 1996 and contains a shitton of information about the characters, timeline, power levels and whatnot. |

There are several tens of thousands of character in the database even if you know the birthday 1/100 of the characters its still too much to worth anything. And if you say narrow it down to specific chars then others would complain cause they fav. char. is not on the list. |

I think you're over estimating the amount of birthdays per day. Even with the birthday paradox in consideration, there can't be more than 20 characters per birthday. Furthermore, a database do not needs to start fully. It's possible to starts this function having an incompleted databese, and then adding data to i slowly. |

Characters, soundtracks, seiyuus.... all these things make part of an anime. And you said to use alternative sites, ok, it's possible, but it's much better having all the things you want in the same place then using 2-3 differents tools. I'm not saying that it's an essential feature, I know that it isn't, but I would like to see it here, and I'm not the only one. |
