| It depends. If it's in a thread title, I don't think it sounds very weird. If a guy walks up to you in person saying "hello ladies" or something like that, I do think it sounds a bit off. |

| Well, from what I can see it's an English Thing to keep Formalities even for the most casual Occasions. Personally, I wouldn't even think about addressing Girls with the Form you can often hear in formal Speeches ("Ladies and Gentlemen") when it's not a special and/or formal Occasion, because it would seem either fake to me or it would lose its Power. |
