BTW, I don't even think there are officials sagas -- just arcs -- I just stated something that's apparent in the OP fandom.
There are. I just don't care about them, or any official listings for one piece. Marine ford is about Ace, there is no fucking ace or anything about ace in Shabondy

This is not the only time it's mentioned on Shabondy. There were lots of random people muttering about it. Shabondy was the start of the War of the Best saga whether you like it or not.
It's like how Reverse Mountain is part of Alabasta's Saga. It may not seem relevant at first glance but an intro arc- which Shabondy was- is just as part of a saga as any other portion.
This is a fail thread if you ask me. If you want to make a poll using arcs, then I find it unfair of you to exclude arcs that were really awesome, like Impel Down! If you want to say that Impel Down was part of Marineford, then you'd be wrong. Impel Down is part of the same SAGA as Marineford, yes, they are connected, but arcs and sagas are not the same thing.
Shabondy is an arc. Impel Down is an arc. Marineford is an arc.
All three of these arcs are part of the War of the Best/Marineford Saga.
My favorite SAGA is the War of the Best because of three important arcs: Shabondy, Impel Down, and Post-Marineford. I actually wasn't a fan of Marineford, even though it was pretty awesome. Fact is, your poll makes no sense, so I'm not voting. Next time have your facts straight instead of sprouting stuff like: "
There are. I just don't care about them, or any official listings for one piece. Marine ford is about Ace, there is no fucking ace or anything about ace in Shabondy"
I don't care whether you abide by the official listings or not. I don't care whether you like 'em or not. But get your facts straight. Shabondy did include Ace. The entire world found out about the War during that arc. This is when shit starts to get real. Not only that, but the entire War of the Best Saga was thematically about how Luffy is weak and needs to get stronger. Just as how the entire East Blue Saga thematically is about friendship, gathering the crew, and proving one's strength and dreams. Shabondy was the start of that thematic meltdown. Luffy's character development (Yes, he has developed!) starts in Shabondy when he loses his friends and ends with his being reminded that he still has them after losing Ace later in Post-Marineford.
I completely disagree with your statements. Completely. To shallow it down to the arc having Ace or not is bullshit. Why not include Alabasta and Enies Lobby as part of Marineford then? Technically they both were DIRECTLY related to the war. Ace was looking for Blackbeard and in episode 325, which was part of the Enies Lobby arc, had their battle. Also in Enies Lobby Shanks told Whitbeard to call Ace off Blackbeard. So, these had Ace and were instrumental to the War of the Best, so why not include them? Why? There are reasons. Reasons that exclude the fact that Ace was involved.
The War of the Best SAGA has been determined by several things. It actually has LITTLE to do with Ace. Yes, saving Ace was the goal of the saga, and his execution was the major conflict, but that in no way relates the arcs that are part of the saga. The Saga is decided by mostly Luffy's evolution.
Like I already said, the entire saga was mostly about Luffy discovering how weak he is and how little a fish he is in the wide sea. He's not all powerful. He's got a lot to lose and he won't be able to save everyone. The entire Saga had him LOSING. Every main villain he faced, he lost against. Kizaru, Santomaryu, Kuma, the Pacifistas, Magellan, and then Mihawk/the Admirals. It was all about him losing.
The main character isn't Ace. It's Luffy. And the Sagas aren't only determined by what I already mentioned. It's also about how plot wise the arcs are connected. Shabondy may have had a separate overall plot- saving Camie- but that's usually how intro arcs are in One Piece. Intro arcs are generally related to the other arcs in a different way: with HUGE shadowing. For instance, Reverse Mountain/Laboon had nothing to do with facing Crocodile. The goal was to protect Laboon. That being said, the shadows in this intro arc are the two characters that were introduced and their relevance to the subsequent arcs. For Skypiea, Jaya had little to do with Skypiea in terms of goals and conflicts. Jaya's conflict was about saving the Ossan's (Norland's) treasure. Yes they wanted to find Skypiea, but that had little to do with the eventual showdown.
Whether this all makes sense to you or not, I don't really care. It's too hot here and I've just lost the last of my "I want to discuss" desire. Adios. |
