There is a very obvious reason the Kumiko x Reina ship is so popular, and it's not because we are all yuri fans. It's because this is the anime, NOT the novel, and the anime has given most, if not all, the development of Kumiko's character to Reina. Even at points where it was suppossed to be Shuuichi, it was Reina. This is why people ship Kumiko x Reina. It's because this is the anime and the anime does things differently. Not everyone relies on not so credible translations of a japanese novel source in order to gain foresight into an anime they like. They simply watch the anime and create theories and assumptions based on it. Discussing the anime ONLY, Kumiko x Reina is the logcial and most realstic ship. Obviously, the anime isn't an orginal story so when we know the contents of the source material, we give greater meaning to things we may have otherwise looked over and this why Kumiko x Shuuichi is apparently so popular. Research in forums and blogs and you'll see que all this happens in all the anime. With female MC is canon of yuri fans create pairs and transform girls in lesbian. Now it is Also occurring with animes with male mc. If we had evidence, and those same ships and arguments have already been used in various anime  |

A tone we haven't heard her use towards Reina YET. Of course that can change considering the development they're having. In the latest episode she's avoiding Shuichi and yet is always eyeing him across the station and hearing his name apparently snaps her back to reality. If there's an anime that isn't an anime original, people are going to talk about source material, no matter how obscure. For mainstream as hell shit like Fate/Stay Night, to relatively more obscure stuff like Log Horizon LNs (long before season 2 aired people talked about Shiroe's female vampire alt as an example), etc. Yet never has this been a problem. You don't see people cry about spoilers in Fate threads, or Yahari threads, or JoJo threads, or DxD threads, or Sidonia threads, or Ore Monogatari threads, or Yamada and seven witches threads, or Owari no Seraph threads, or Danmachi threads, or literally any other case you could possibly think of. And if in any of those threads someone does dare cry about being spoiled (which happens once every hundred threads), everyone dogpiles on that person, makes fun of him for being a filthy secondary/animeonly, etc. It's only in these threads that you have a large number of people who complain about source material discussion, and the sole reason why you complain about source material is because it goes against your "speculah".
