Have you ever wondered if there were reverse weebs in Japan? This would be a Japanese person who is obsessed with American cartoons and only watches them in English with Japanese subtitles and shuns all anime and Japanese culture and language for American culture and wishes to live in America because said person believes that America is just like it is in the American Cartoons.
It would be something like this:

What is your opinion of these people? Do you think they actually exist? What kind of stupid shit do you think they would say, similar to how some anime fans call themselves "otaku", which actually means you're basically a socially inept loser in Japanese yet so many anime fans think it's a cool thing to call themselves.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but that picture is a reference to the Ken-sama copypasta. It's not actually serious lol.

You can't really compare the two. Will Americans be desperate enough to think of kamikaze tactics? And they use honour code in Japan, as opposed to moral code in the West.

Oh. Well the term "weeb" in itself is kind of a word that people made up to describe people who are overly obsessed with Japanese culture. There will always be people from around the world obsessed with specific cultures regardless of where they're from. So I guess yeah, people like that do exist, and I'm sure they say some really fucking ridiculous stuff, but there are a lot of people from everywhere who are obsessed with American culture.

Considering anime like The Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Space Dandy, I'd say there are a few Westaboos and they usually do some pretty cool stuff.

I also know that there are American shows that for a time the Japanese were watching in English with Japanese subtitles on online streaming sites since the shows weren't airing of there (My Little Pony, for instance).

You want to find westaboos? Check out the former GAINAX staff members (including Imaishi). I also follow a handful of key animators on Twitter who are obsessed with American culture, so it doesn't stop there.

I have a character like that from long ago-- she's referred to as a Beeaboo. Boo= ghost= white= Be white She was living in the U.S. peacefully until she met a weeaboo and lost it; both were equally ridiculous characters and that pretty much describes my opinion on the matter.

I dunno, personally, when people from foreign countries take an interest in where I live, it makes me feel happy.

I'm not 100% sure what American culture really entails, even as an American, since it tends to be a diverse mix of other cultures, but if someone wants to learn about the place I live I'm glad to accommodate them.

People trying to learn each other's cultures is a good thing.

I don't know about cartoon fanatics or anything, but I do know that there are foreigner cafes and stuff where Japanese guys would go to find a foreign girlfriend.
There is also a subculture in Japan called Gyaru which embodies looking like a valley girl or in some cases, b-gyaru which pretty much embodies being African American.

Everyone has a passion for something, so unless it's illegal then I say they can love what they love~

I've seen those people as well, and what's more interesting is that it's a different trend than Ganguro. In fact, I'll post a link to it for reference and the sake of discussion.

For some reason, I don't remember these folks when I think of reverse weeaboo. Thing about weeaboos though is that most of them don't try to look Asian besides wearing Japanese clothes, kitty ears, and such. These folks take their love of black culture to a new level by attempting to look the part physically as well. But actually, it comforts me just a bit.
