I'm a little confused here. What criteria are they choosing for nominations of series? It's not like any of those series above have been recently released. *Shrugs*

Makes sense.

Edit: I wonder if the titles licensed in France is limited.

Best Shojo: Vampire Knight

What? Possibly one of the worst shoujo I've ever had the displeasure of reading. Nice to see DMC up there though. Can't say as I agree with any of the other choices.

Actually, I've noticed a number of impressive titles not available in US that are out in France. I don't think that's it.

I like DMC, but i think Saint Young Men is better, such a pity.
"In 2009, in a survey asking its respondents "which manga do you think is the most interesting?" in a pool of 6000, Kuso Miso Technique came at 11th, beating popular manga such as Gintama and Detective Conan." Wiki

I agree. It's a shame Ai Yazawa's sick at the moment too. :(

I think the Best Shoujo category imploded on itself, no wai should Vampire Knight have won that <.<

I wonder what the other nominated Manga/Anime were.
I haven't read Vampire knight so far, but I know Fairy Tail and... honestly there are besser Shonen Mangas out there. What where they thinking? O_o

Don't forget :

The nominee were chosen from the titles licensed in France and the winners were determined by online public votes.

That means it's a popularity contest. Not everyone visits sites like MAL, most people that read mangas or watch animes only know about the things everyone and their mother read/watch. I live here in France so I'm not surprised at these results, though I didn't know that there were that many people who like DMC. I don't care about the anime/manga distribution in France anyway. x)
