| Depends on meaning improve. He gets fleshed out and grows. Definition of "improve" depends on which direction you believe his character has to go. For me there's no need for him to somehow "improve" because he is already a great character. |

| He talks quite a bit about how Gundam is much better, which is fine, but he does so while ignoring the series' many, many flaws. It's not as blatant or abrasive as his comments on.... everything else really, but he definitely puts Gundam on a very high pedestal, and it's certainly noticeable to me. For example, he argued at some length that Gundam does the science aspect well whilst completely ignoring such failures as the climax of CCA or that scene where Quess jumps into space without a space suit and is none the worse for wear. |
| No mecha series that has humanoid mechas moving around without issue does science well. And last time I checked Gundam had supernatural abilities dubbed "evolution" so what science? |
| Well, I mean... it's scifi. You have to grant concessions for things like using 21 meter tall bipedal robots to fight wars (for it's part, the series does at least attempt to explain how this became the preferred type of war machine). And yes, the show has space wizards, but Star Wars does too, so fuck it. The problem is blatant disregard for the laws of physics in a show that generally falls more towards the hard end of the scale in terms of realism; moments where they do things so monumentally stupid it breaks immersion.
