| 3/5 Pretty average (and not to mention boring) episode imo. It's good to see Shirou and Rin developing their feelings for each other and whatnot. Archer vs Shirou ideal clash was a bit underwhelming compared to the VN, especially Shirou's reaction at the end. Rest is meh. |

| I don't understand why some people just want action every episode. What is part of being a good story is the build up and character development. I thought this episode was great and made good progress (although some explanations were kept short for Anime purposes). It's true that action in this Anime is awesome but if you only want action you might as well just watch Micheal Bay movies. |

Looking it at the VN's perspective, not much really happened in this episode either. But I've already to come enjoying the interactions with Rin and Shirou no matter how minor they are, so I've already fallen to fanboyism. If you're talking about action junkies in general, you're just going to have to tolerate their existence in general because they're not going anywhere. |

Grisaia/10 adaptation so far. |

Very nice, but I was kind of hoping for a fight scene based on what the preview implied last episode. Ah well..A really fun episode though and like the change of the music. via Imgflip GIF MakerI LOL so hard at this part! XD Rin has the best expressions! And Shirou blushed so hard in this episode too! So kawaii  via Imgflip GIF MakerYess! Rin's wearing her old outfit again! It was so adorable.....and then there was that courtyard seen. And I'm taking Rin's side. Shirou basically told her," Protecting others makes makes me happy, but I don't think I deserve any happiness for myself." And what Rin was saying might make her seem selfish, but if you re-watch that scene a couple of times, she's trying to explain to Shirou that helping others is fine, but forcing yourself to live up to what everyone wants you to do and never doing what you want to do isn't happiness. And nice job having Archer make Shirou question his own ideals. My body is so ready next episode! (Forgive me for being a newb. Fate/Zero is a prequel written with the intention that knowledge from F/SN is already known, though it manages to make itself feel standalone just well enough that people new to the series don't feel like they missed anything although many things go over their head. F/SN UBW doesn't assume knowledge of F/Z. |

| I enjoyed this episode, particularly the conversations between Shirou and Rin and Shirou and Archer. The former's most interesting point was about the nature of the houses; Rin's and Shirou's both match their personalities. Shirou lives in a place with a warm, open, and welcoming atmosphere, just like he himself is. Rin, like her home, pushes people away from here, keeps them out. Once those people have broken through that barrier though (i.e. Shirou) she doesn't let them go. Very nice. With all that said, my only complaint at this point is Saber. She's one of my favorite characters in the Fate universe and was so intriguing in F/Z. Here she's been more or less reduced to a fighter with vaguely noble virtues and a pleasant personality, and pretty much nothing more. I understand that this isn't Saber's story, so I don't expect her to have a major focus, but a bit more of personality and active behavior from her would be appreciated. Her reaction to Shirou and Archer's conversation (nothing, basically) was particularly jarring, because it centered on ideas and beliefs that are very much tied to Saber. Her lack of reaction comes across as very odd and was a blemish on an otherwise excellent scene. |

If you want to see Saber and all of the other characters get more development along with fully fleshed out characterization and world building, you should read the visual novel. The F/SN VN = book + character art + background art + music + voice acting + dynamic screen effects. |
