Exciting as in cool and edgy, doesn't have to be a masterpiece plot but recommendations from the 90s please, preferably the late 90s.

Thanks in Advance.

You've seen most of what I would've suggested, only thing I can think of is the sequels to Crest of the Stars, Banner of the Stars 1, 2 and 3. In my opinion it only gets better, and seeing as you've liked Crest of the Stars based on your rating I don't think you could go wrong really.

Major, not edgy or dark but definitely exciting from start to finish. It's also an "old" show, at least the manga is.

I agree with this except for banner 3. That was the worst because it was only 2 episodes. I recommend FLCL because its six episodes of absolute craziness. Short but sweet. Hyper sugary sweet.

Definitely cant deny that. I like to think the action is enough to make up for it.

Yeah, it's a shame :( even though the story wasn't complete though, 3 did provide more closure so it was still pretty great in that regard.

Ah man, FLCL was definitely very entertaining, although I can't say I've enjoyed it as much as some others seem to have :P

I found Zoids to be a badass anime when I was young. Give it a shot. It was made around 2000, IIRC.

Or maybe try that Legend of the Galatic Robots or whatever. Apparently it's popular in MAL.

Zoids was badass when you were young? That's great! Not even being sarcastic, nostalgia is no. 1 for me in Anime, except for a few(like Naruto).

Seen Legends of the Galactic Heroes, in my opinion those that love that series to bits are sad and can't think for themselves but rather let a stupid cartoon think for them when it comes to real life things like politics etc. or at least are sad for pretending to enjoy "deep", "philosophical" and "thought provoking" content from a cartoon.

An underrated masterpiece.

Seen that and I would agree if I didn't watch the 4kids(I think) dub.

Try Wolf's Rain? It's from 2003, but I adore it.

I haven't really watched much anime from the 90s. I ought to fix that, but I'm on a manga kick at the moment.

The only thing from the 90s that comes to mind is X/1999; it's an anime action movie, but it's only really appreciable if you've read the manga. Otherwise it's just confusing.

It's all right. I can't blame you, a good portion of shoujo is pretty bad. X is great though. /finishes sales pitch.

Aaaaand that is Franken Stein from the manga Soul Eater.

Yeah, I noticed after I'd posted.

Was going through my list to adjust scores and remembered the Sonic the Hedgehog OVAs. They might be entertaining if you ever played the games and are looking for a bit of nostalgia.

Edit:Also, They Were 11!. But it's a shoujo as well. ....and it's from the 80s, lol.

Look up the Company called Tatsunoko. They made a lot of older Anime, maybe you will find something?

I still stand by Tekkaman Blade, it was a good 90s Anime from them.

I've heard of Tatsunoko.
I didn't dispute Tekkaman Blade, I already had it on my PTW before I made this thread.
