So this is a theory that I posted in another board. Tell me what you think! Finally caught up with the manga! So this is my simple theory. I made this when I was at that part where Raku lost his memories and hinted to us that Chitoge might not be the promised girl because the girl's eye color wasn't blue, although it was resolved that Chitoge still has a chance of being the promised girl. Anyway, with that in mind, I think that Chitoge isn't really the promised girl. It could be either Onodera or Tachibana. I'm not going into any details on why it could be either of them so I would just pick Onodera as the promised girl because I like her and Raku likes her as well. Here's where it get juicy. I think that we still have a long way to go with Nisekoi and feel like we'll reach third year and throughout that time, I think Raku will eventually fall in love with Chitoge as well. And at the end of highschool, maybe graduation, they will finally find out who the promised girl is. Like I said previously, I pick Onodera as the promised girl because for the reason that Raku likes her. And when he does find out, he wouldn't be any more happier to find that Onodera was the promised girl all along. (This is just me making my own story) With the turn of events of finding out who the promised girl is, Chitoge, at the end of their fake relationship, would then go back to America, all the while hiding her true feelings. The gang gets shocked when they find out that Chitoge has to leave so suddenly after high school and with this dilemma, I think Raku would realize his true feelings for Chitoge, through the help of Onodera who at the same time makes the hardest decision of letting Raku go and taking the back seat. Raku rushes to Chitoge to stop her from going to America and with this sudden surprise, he confesses his love for her and vice versa. And of course the obligatory happily ever after epilogue. That's how I think the story will go. I know it's hard, especially since I really liked Onodera. I guess I have to accept it like how she accepted it as well. (Although this is all happening in my imagination of course) But I really do think this is how it will go and quite frankly this is a cliche ending where the best or most liked secondary gives way to the lead. Either way, I do hope that this will still be a great manga and that they animate it the whole way. It's my pet peeve to animate a manga and stop halfway, most of the time with a not so conclusive ending, I'm watching you Maid Sama!. I'd understand if their taking a break but just not going the whole way just ticks me off especially if it was a good series. Anyway, that's how I think it will go. P.S. I think Ruri and Shu will get together |

As far as cliche endings go, this would be in the ballpark, and this manga has been cliches everywhere. I doubt its going to be the same story as you explained but I think most people who read the manga figures its going to end in the same manner. I know lots of people would probably rather have someone else as the end girl, myself for example, but its highly doubtful. I think its going to suck that Raku loved Kosaki since middle school and couldn't confess but when he starts to love Chitoge, he's going to confess right after. But thats how love triangles end anyway, the shy one doesn't win. |

Looks like the typical ending to a romantic chick flick movie. id be pretty disappointed if it would turn out this way. |

Too many hints from the beginning that point towards Onodera. This made it so obvious that I think the author tried to fool us all along. I don't think Onodera is the promised girl. |

If I were to guess, we are probably going to get a troll ending. By that, I mean they are going to come close to solving the mystery but then Raku being the nice guy he is won't want to find out and will give some lame excuse like "I much rather cherish the time and memories I have developed with you" and we shall get an inconclusive ending to his choice. |

i feel the same way.... it may end this way since onodera has always hidden and may always keep hiding her feelings(i think), and will want to see raku happy if he develops feelings for chitoge. however, i do not think onodera is the promised girl at all. |

Nope, this will end like the Oreshura anime. He'll choose the girl he had a fake relationship all along but still get a harem ending. Not really, I think the picture book did enough foreshadowing. The girls with keys will put their feelings aside for Raku's happiness, and even help him get to the girl he really loves... Just like the ending of RosarioxVampire anime. Or bad ending, a broken piece of the 4th key is lodged inside the locket, and the girl who had it somehow died. This caused mental trauma to everyone as kids which is why they don't remember the past that well. As indicated by the sad ending of the book and Mari's withholding of knowledge. |

If not Kosaki ending then please just add another character into the series. This is pretty damn crazy delusion of mine but if it ends with a new character popping out of no where I want it to be like a "too good to be true" story When Chitoge and Raku's fake relationship contract is officially over, there's gonna be a letter sent to Raku saying something like, "If you remember our promise and have the pendant that I gave you, please meet me at the place we first met." When he goes to that place and sees her for the first time in 12/13 years he'll get a flash back of the times that he's spent with her, recalls her name and after that immediately runs towards her to tightly hug her while shedding tears of joy. That girl is gonna have his ideal traits of a woman and look exactly like the girl in his memories but growned up. Her family and Raku's is actually on very good terms. She has all the hints that Raku has seen through the whole series and explains why she left that City and proves Raku that she actually is the one he promised to marry. She tells the whole story of the book and how it's related to their relationship. They opened the pendant with the key she had and it opened properly, inside was a heirloom ring. Shortly after Raku sees the ring he picks it up and proposes to her!! ♥ She says yes. They visit all the girls in the harem to let them know he finally met the girl he promised to, and share how the book might be related to them as well. Kosaki cries a lot wishing that he was the one she promised to long time ago but at the same time becomes very happy for him. Tachibana understands how much Raku loves the "Promised Girl" hence, makes his dad to cancel the parent-arranged-marriage between the two of them. Chitoge confesses to him and reminds him the memories she treasured with him, Raku apologizes that he's disappointed her but Chitoge apologizes as well about all the awful things she done to him (specially saying that, that girl has forgotten about their promise). After they both graduated from college, Raku fulfills his promise and marries her. |

@R4vel, highly unlikely. First and foremost, he never actually spent that much time with the promised girl. It was probably a love at first sight and they only spent "some" time together. Thereafter, they got separated and he hasn't seen her for years. Since both were kids, it was a very premature type of love. In fact, his heart already fell for Onodera as of now, although it is slowly opening to Chitoge as well. The story will probably end up with him realising his love for Chitoge, just as she realises it too. The promise will be fulfilled because she will be the promised girl, although their love will have matured based on their current relationship, and not that of the promise. This is the most ideal way of portraying the story without letting the promise get in the way and becoming the real reason for the final pairing. |

Now that I think about it, the only way to satisfy everyone is make an ending for each girl and the readers will decide which they want. I really don't know how to feel about this but like a VN everyone chooses who they really want, so why not do it with manga and anime also? At least, just to keep everyone happy. |

I wish this manga will be in the end without a final cliche. Don't care about the first girl. Don't care about the promise. Making Haru the one. |

thats why I said pretty crazy delusion of mine and too good to be true. idk how but I actually feel like Marika is gonna be big deal at the end, she seems to know quite a bit Edit: Now that I've seen episode 8 again, I think Chitoge's promise is to meet again someday and play. For Onodera make their sweet shop? Marika's marriage with Raku was a parent arrangement but I still feel like Marika actually has a great chance of being the Promise Girl. |

Don't really care who he ends up with, but if it is Chitoge then she has to confess first. I hate it when characters spend an entire series hiding their feelings just for the other person to confess first, especially after what happened in chapter 100. If Raku confesses first after that chapter, then Chitoge just fails. |

Actually Nisekoi reminds me a lot of Love Hina, what with childhood promises as well as multiple candidates. Even the flow of the story is almost alike. I actually won't be surprised if the author was actually inspired by it. It's probably going to end up the same way too. The childhood girl being the main girl all along and the one who gets the most development (Narusegawa/Chitoge). It may come to the point where the characters are all convinced the childhood girl is actually the other one (Mutsumi/Marika). I chose Marika because she was the one who met with Raku and Chitoge thus most likely the one who was actually there when the childhood promise was made, just like Mutsumi was there when Keitaro made the promise to Naru. Even their characteristics are the same. Mutsumi is overly affectionate towards Keitaro (though not as aggressive) while also being the only one who still remember the exact event. The fairy tale book was said to end in a sad way. This is most likely because the girl was forced to separate with the boy. Raku ended up changing the story so that somehow the girl reunites with the boy. This will probably be mirrored in the ending with Chitoge having to return to US (probably for college, forced by her mother) and Raku, having fallen in love with her, decides that it doesn't matter who the childhood girl actually is (just like Keitaro). At the end, just before Chitoge depart, they discovered that the girl was Chitoge all along. They then make a promise to see each other once again. Fast forward a few years, Raku having graduated from college, now works for Chitoge's mom (remember how she promised to give Raku a job) and because of the crazy schedule & the usual shenanigans ends up not being able to meet Chitoge as promised. That is, until it's finally time for Christmas, when Chitoge's mom usually reunites with her family. This time though, she brings Raku along and that's how they finally meet each other again. This is my theory (or rather observation based on Love Hina). In Love Hina, Narusegawa and Keitaro was also separated for a few years before their marriage due to Keitaro's job so if this series really was inspired by Love Hina, it may take the same route. |

I don't get the complains "I hope the ending is not cliche". The whole story is cliche. Come on it's a romcom like 2000 other romcom we have seen before ... with one boy unable to understand why 4 girls always blush when they talk to him and so on and so on ...and it's far from beeing one of the best ones ... Having Ruki and Shu together would at last make it original. xD ps : it's obvious he will end with Chitoge since she's the character with the most development. It's a copycat of Toradora. |

Not waiting after college before finally meeting up again, rather a straightforward romance after the confession. And then we get an epilogue of their happy lives rather than an epilogue of meeting after how many years. |

Onodera said that her keys was given by the promised boy (anime ep 11). Raku got his Locket by the gift of the promised girl and the girl kept the key. About Marika's i didn't know yet. And when the girl gave the Locket, she wasn't wearing the ribbon that used by Chitoge (this can be denied). Chitoge was started wearing the ribbon when Raku said he like when she wear it(i thought), and so Chitoge must be wear the ribbon when the GoodBye phrase. On Anime ep 12. When Chitoge's dad said that Raku and other two girls have met before and play together, in Order Raku was chasing Chitoge(with Ribbon), and Onodera was Chasing Raku behind. Lets see how the Opening of the episode that the girls was Chasing Raku,, i supposed that Onodera or Marika(not Chitoge). hmm, i thought that Raku got his locket by other girl or 4th girl, and when Onodera, Chitoge, and Marika saw what was Raku Wearing, Raku had no choice except to give them all Keys.. And About the 4th key, i have feeling Mikage. Onodera is too shy to say 'Get Married', Chitoge too. Marika and Mikage could say that without Doubt. Sorry My Bad English. |

Started off pretty interesting, went downhill for like the past 30-40 chapters nothing happen but fan service. The author is really milking the series. Your theory is pretty common, girl go back and guy chase after her. I think it will end up something similar to your theory too, hope not though since it be damn boring and predictable. |

I think what Andyis was trying to say was that Chitoge is the only girl who has had any major developing arcs. And just like the majority of other romance mangas, the girl with the most development is usually the one who ends up with the MC, which makes it predictable and then ordinary. I might be wrong but I don't think Kosaki has had any major developing arcs, even though the author probably had opportunities to do so, they ended up as a Chitoge arcs. |

I can see this happening. I can also see Onodera crying while saying something like "there goes my first love". Just imagining it is so heartbreaking. I am new to MyAnimeList and this is my first post :) hoping for our friendly opinions. I personally like this manga and here are my thoughts and THEORIES: THE FAKE LOVE- this manga will last until the graduation in high school, the 3rd and last year of the fake relationship between Raku and Chitoge. I believe that it is the time frame for NiseKoi THE BOOK- Obviously, the plot follows the story on the book of the girl Raku met on the mountain/hill 10 years ago. It is said that the ORIGINAL ENDING of the book is a sad ending. I am wondering if the princess died, married another man, forced to separate when the prince caught up to him or whatever. Depending on the approach of the mangaka, this manga/anime will surely be a happy ending. I believe that the twist on the story will also depend on how Raku (as a child) rewrote the ending of the book and how he will do as a man in the future. THE PAST- It is really suspicious that Chitoge, Onodera and Raku cannot remember the events of 10 years go. I understand that they are 5 or 6 y/o at that time, but damn! How can they be so forgetful? are they retarded? they only remember fragments of the past. Thus, it came to me that there might be trauma involved. How come Marika and Yui remembers more? they are more realistic. I also believe that this is connected to whatever Marika's secret is. During her introduction, she has that full confidence that Raku will will choose her as the best girl suited for him once he remembers. Maybe, she just cannot admit it yet because of she doesn't want to hurt her Raku-sama or other reasons we don't know yet. I can imagine Marika doing a Menma (of Anohana) A dark kind of story will fit her character. NOTE: (it is only my imagination) we are all aware that she has a frail body and in chapter 97, when her friend Mikage told her "whatever ye do, no regrets". It leaves an impression that Marika will not live that long maybe due to illness. one evidence is her Dad and his willingness to do whatever Marika wishes. She might be doing this and that and all those naughty stuffs and trolling so Raku will not forget her anymore. Her love for Raku is the real deal and she will fulfill her promise to him before she dies. (hopefully not) THE KEYS AND THE PROMISES- I have an opinion that all of the 4 keys will open Raku's pendant. I also believe that each of the girls have different promises made. As the book stated, there is 1 "princess" key (the one he made a promise of marriage) and 3 "helper" keys. We don't know who has the real princess key right now. Yui confirmed in chapter 121 that the pendant won't open the way it is right now, the broken part of her key could be that "something" that is stuck inside Raku's pendant. from what I can see, it is a star figure. And the thing kept inside the pendant could be a ring or the last page of the book. THE PROMISED GIRL- In my opinion, I would exclude Marika and Yui. Marika is always sick. Yes, her chances grew up in chapter 120 where it is revealed that she can somehow play outside her room. Given how thoughtful his father is, I just cant imagine a sick child reading a book on top of the hill under the moon. plus her hair was just too short then for the girl in the image of Raku has. Plus, she said she hate girls with long hair in episode 14 of the anime. On the other hand, Yui cannot be the promised girl also. She is taller than Raku when they are children in chapter 118. (hahaha, i know it's a cheap reason) Her hair was also short just like in Marika's case. Whatever the mangaka does, no matter how many fillers he makes to make the harem balanced (and to earn money as well) It all comes down to Onodera and Chitoge. For me, chances that Onodera could be the girl that Yui knows that Raku made the promise with is high. "Once you find out whom you made the promise to, would you really be able to fall in love with her?" Yui doesn't know that Raku and Chitoge are not really dating. She also doesn't know that he's in love with Onodera. It is quite intriguing the she looked at her in chapter 119. In the amnesia arc, chapter 91, where Raku had a flashback, he gave a key (similar to Onodera's) to someone (not 100% sure if it's Chitoge) then he said, "You're the girl from..." I have a theory that IT IS CHITOGE whom he made the promise with. There's a possibility that the keys of Onodera and Chitoge are switched due to an accident or what. I can imagine that the reason Onodera has the book is because it is some kind of momento or keepstake between her and Chitoge. They are inseparable in the past as Yui stated. Some things happened like trauma as I said earlier so they cannot remember. In chapter 90, chitoge remembers a lot reading the book. I didn't saw those kind of recollection to the other girls. It is a proof that she has really read it in the past. The advantage Chitoge has is the "Zawsze in Love", I really believe that it is crucial. These are just ideas and theories cause I'm not the Mangaka. It is also a combined theory from the opinions I see on this site to mine. it written very long cause I got excited and all sorts of ideas came in. I may be wrong and I am open to your opinions. |

shadedclan said: So this is a theory that I posted in another board. P.S. I think Ruri and Shu will get together yeah nice theory though bu im sure it a harem ending but still i see a clinch in in probably 7 chapter before the last chapter (ichigo will confess to one and still get a harem ending because of that clinch plus twist) harem manga always end like this. by the way im sure its not onodera(kosaki) because of the book P.S its most like le K...... |
