Alright guys... I'm with you, it's disappointed that they are taking S3 and making a movie instead. But, it's been a while since anything related to the series has come out. It was like a year ago when the first movie was released, so look at the bright side, we get to see more Heaven's Lost Property, even if it is only 1h 30m.

Yeah, compared to a 5-6 hour season.

what the hell are they thinking? they have enought suport to remake the first and second season so it fits the manga. i don't mind if they do that but to make us wait years for a 3rd season only to get a short movie is crap.

I hate to see just a movie out instead of a season but I will take what I can get before they drop it altogether. We all know this will happen eventually as with all the rest due to the facts of how they are rated financially. Everyone could run out and buy up all the stuff pertaining to ot and still not get a third season. It's sad but true, I would love another season though.

Kinda happy and kinda disappointed..
Now i don't have to wait a week between each episode, and instead are able to watch the whole thing in a go.

This is........ disappointing.
I don't know how they'll make that movie turn out to be. *sigh*
The previous movie left a bad impression for me.. guess I won't watch with much expectations this time.

This is rather depressing as what everyone said. But I'm looking forward to a good second movie, and hopefully will tie in or reference the first movie. The first one really gave me a lot of feels, and I found it to be amazing. Look sharp gentlemen/women!

I have no words for this news other than that I'm fucking mad.

Fuck you, AIC. If this turns out anything like "The Angeloid of Clockwork", I will not be happy.

There's no need to get all frustrated over this news. Look at the bright side, at least you're getting something. Be positive and hope the movie turns out to be great :-)

No, fuck you.
I was told I'd be getting a third season so I expected a third season, not a 90-minute summary.

]The manga goes through constant Tonal shifts between 3 month-periods.

I haven't been up to date with the manga for over 6 month though... But still, this is complete BULLSHIT after teasing me for so long. Next time, time for a complete season

Well...a movie is nice I guess as long as it's not all flash back/recap scenes for most of it. The main problem I guess is the mystery of what they are going to animate considering how non-canonical/different the anime is compared to the manga.

This is my guess but maybe they will

This could effectively make the anime somehow cannon and increase the suffering of chaos, thus paving way for a true third season. Either way though, I'm looking forward to this movie just to see if it stays with the comedy or goes full suffering.

You're right about the manga! Serious shit is going down and I highly recommend to go and read it.
Although it hasn't been publishing for 2 months and I'm starting to get desperate since there was a gigantic cliffhanger in the August chapter
The end is nigh

Does anyone know how far the manga has moved on compared to the second season though? Cause I feel like the first two seasons were super comedy based and the manga has become rather dramatic. Maybe the producing company (forgot which one it was) didn't want to take the risk of making a high budget anime season and receiving disappointing results...?

That actually makes a lot of sense. If people liked/bought the first 2 seasons for the comedy then there is a high risk involved adapting a entire season of something different.

They probably realized that they needlessly screwed up the story adapted from the manga and didn't have the ability to make up a good enough story for season 3 themselves. Real amateur move.

I've been waiting since the announcement back in 2012, this is a HUGE disappointment. I've also been checking weekly for any news since they've hardly said anything since the announcement, and now they reveal that season 3 is abandoned....for some reason I don't have a good feeling about this movie either.

Fuck dis shyt, biggeset cock tease I have had in a while.

I really wish the author would stop doing the humor side so often though, I know it started off as one, but seriously... leave those for the ovas.

As far as I know, the author does not have any says in this kind of decision.

He can only accept the studio's offer and get money (which is deserved because being a mangaka is atrocious unless you are super famous) or simply refuse and get nothing.

The studio is in the wrong here, not the author. They marketed it as a third season but couldn't deliver it as such. I agree that it is not professional but in a production studio sometime shit happens.

There's too many humor arcs, I mean, to make an effective season without wasting slots on humor episodes. I wish they could start over more plot-centralized

I agree but unfortunately the people that are producing this seems to not think so.
