In Captain Harlock there was an episode with Bermuda triangle as well, and iirc Stonehenge was mentioned as alien creation too

Felt a little compacted and rushed; I don't think this story fits well into the 22-minute format.

These were once common "modern supernatural" concepts for pulp fiction. They've been pretty played out for quite a while now.

I found this to be the most well-written episode in a while. If not well-written, then most intriguing. if not most intriguing, then most memorable.

I can't help but draw the (admittedly superficial) comparison between this episode and the Pirate filler arc of Rurouni Kenshin. Yes, it's just because both have a gorgeous pirate leader. Their significance in their respective stories also have them doing something to honour their late father's memory. Go figure.

I also found the sinking of the ships darkly humorous: That's right! Save the cutie and forget the rest!! Too many stories share that trope, though I do understand that this isn't a fair criticism considering the goals of the guilty series.

Up to this point in the series, each episode had ended with everything returning back to normal. I'm left with an incredible cliffhanger that doesn't appear to be resolved. What happens after they meet the aliens? Is there a movie that covers this? Great episode, but that ending was ridiculous without some kind of closure.

The next episode preview has some giant fork hitting a table and pretty much confirms there will be no follow up. This is pretty reminiscent to the ending of the Crystal Skulls.

Oh yeah, "Aliens".

In which Lupin tackles the Bermuda Triangle and Stonehenge. Another action adventure outing involving Lupin helping a new girl that easily could have been a full length film. This one definitely needed more time too, the ending was insanely rushed and had no real sense of closure. So the ending itself was a fairly direct Close Encounters of the Third Kind homage. First Superman, now aliens. XD

Wait is that a submarine in disguise of a ship?
What if Bermuda triangle is actually really bunch of pirates hiding in submarines? xD

That ending, after this Lupin and gang are just bunch of clones xD

From Ghost ships to Aliens. Man Lupin can get weird from time to time.

Poor Lupin, being whipped like that. At least the man who killed the girl's father went up in flames together with his ship I guess. But the Stonehenge and aliens, huh. A pity it ended in a open way, without showing what came from that contact.

Too bad the episode ended there. Sometimes the writers really created new characters or plots that could provide material for a longer arc.

The episode was definitely rushed and everything, but I actually really like how ridiculous it was and how much this particular series plays off contemporary trends and pop culture references (movies, comics, games etc).
The first occult (somewhat of an umbrella term in Japan for everything from UFOs, cryptids, ghosts, conspiracies etc) boom in Japan was roughly around the tail end of its peak around this period, with one of the big occult magazines (MU) that's still in print today actually being founded the year this episode aired. So I imagine when they included
1) The Bermuda Triangle & Ghost Ships
2) Stonehenge & Aliens
all in one episode it definitely made some occult kid's week, or was even the trigger that got some into the genre. Love the Close Encounters reference in the ending as well, and how it plays in a very meta way into the show's episodic nature; every week the world is reset for another wacky adventure. So it doesn't matter how the episode ends in relation to the next one, or even what happens in the episode itself, so why not make it as entertaining as it can be in the moment?
