I have read first 20 chapters of OP and I have seen absolutely nothing of interest in them and the main character annoys the hell out of me(Goku-type lucky brawns-not-brains type of leads always do) And from what I heard of the current arcs, it only gets worse(entire manga-filler dedicated on civil rights? What is this Star Wars prequel movies?). I guess for me, ONE dragonball story was enough. Bleach with its ups and downs, dangles enough plot-carrots along the way(providing enough mysteries to speculate about), has a more unique and enjoyable setting(especially for someone like me who is obsessed with tropes of japanese pop-culture), enough metaphors to what I am interested in(mainly pagan symbolism and mythologies of various religions), is filled with references to a music genre that I absolutely love, has enough gray-morality in it and generally succeeds at comedic timing. That alone makes it easier to excuse the shortcomings it has(like the usual shounen genre trappings, convenient power-ups, etc), makes me want to read further and that alone means it is doing something right. |

Bleach Ch#20: Ichigo cut a big ugly hollow. Let's suppose someone dropped Bleach at that point because it's not interesting enough. The guy met a girl got random power by coincidence and then we got transfer student and now he helping cutting some ugly hollows. Talk about cliched and what is else there to be in plot? Will he keep cutting those ugly weak hollows or even if they get stronger. It's just bad story. I hate it and it's the worst thing out there. Now i can see your enthusiastic reaction about that kind of review after 20 chapters and how you will explain that you should read more chapter because there is great plot ahead. It will expose you to a new world of soul society and a great rescue arc and after that again a rescue arc and then again rescue arc(?)... OP Ch#20: Luffy hit ugly Buggy with his Bazooka. The point where you dropped the manga because the MC have no brain, and is annoying (?? how?).. It's exact copy of dragonball after 20 chapters?.. What in the world are you talking about. As much as i heard bleach copied dragonball more than OP ever did. Maybe MC is similar to Goku more than Ichigo in personality but the plot completely differs. OP got it's own world. It's own power system and plot revolve about more than just power battles and show-off. Each character is unique and get enough screentime. Yeah. It maybe simple plot but the overall chemistry about world and how they travel is enough to keep people interested to read/watch more. And then Whitebeard Saga was really great which really changed OP world. Also that overall simple plot got a deep plot and you can come up with tons of theories even more than bleach about it. The War in one piece was not one vs one battle or one-shot or power show-off. MC is not OP like ichigo where everyone is waiting for him to be saved. And recent manga filler arc about Civil rights? Again what in the world are you talking about? Even though i didn't liked it much but Fishman island arc was anything but talk about civit rights. It maybe boring for me and other peoples but it was not filler arc. We all knew it's going to happen since last 2 or so years. Talk about filler manga arcs then you got fullbringer in Bleach. Which was completely unnecessary. A group pop-up out of no-where and suddenly want Ichigo to join their side. Wait.. something like that happen before too but i will just skip that.. So all important predictions you did during that arc about kurosaki family, isshin past, fullbringer relationship with them and other things (which may have become important to plot) didn't happen at all. In the end, the bad guy had some personal grudge against SS which was also totally irrelevant to main plot. Well. if OP didn't interest you enough and you dropped it after 20 chapters. It's okay. I dropped many series as well but talking about it being bad, when you don't anything to back you up is just proof how bias you can get about it and many other series including Naruto. I wonder why the heck am i writing so much when i know they are going to disappear. DAMNMAL.. |

| I think its possible that he may be just tired from ridiculously stupid MC's. even if OP is an amazing anime, its useless if the MC makes you wanna kill it with fire. atleast Ichigo has some common sense, which really helps in a genre where the MC's are as smart as bricks thats just my opinion though |

| ^ If you read my last paragraph again. my answer is there. It's perfectly fine to drop if you don't like it but if you're going to compare it with something. You should've enough information to back up your statements. Which obviously he doesn't have. Also I think Luffy is smart enough to know what is going on around him. He's stubborn but i don't remember where he did something so stupid or out of place which makes you angry. Although Naruto does have a personality like that where he sometime don't know what is going on. Luffy pretend to be idiot most of time but hell of serious when the time is right. e.g: Nami Arc, Robin Arc and lots of other serious situations. Also Ichigo is smart but can be idiot sometimes too. Like how easily he was deceived in fullbringer arc and some user says that arc was for him to become mature. So i wonder if he was not mature enough in 400+ chapters and required a complete arc. |

| I personally still enjoy reading the manga and will miss it when it ends. It is a bit disheartening to see that fans of manga and anime have gotten even more vitriolic about their hate of things that if they hate it everyone else has to hate it to. I mean it is seriously sad if something as small as a comic (Yes I said COMIC GASP) even existing offends you. Me I hate Miracle Whip. I think it is the nastiest thing ever made. But, it doesn't bother me cause I don't eat it. I am not gonna stand in the grocery aisle and rant at everyone who buys a jar how Mayo is obviously so much better in every way though. |

| I'm somewhat glad it's ending. While it means the death of a highly popular manga, that brought many to anime fandom, it will allow Kishimoto to move on to better things. With the story as it is, its best to end it on a good note and start fresh on a new project. |

Keep in mind that kishimoto has nothing to do with the anime, the anime and manga are very different entities and should be treated as such. "Naruto" is great and kishimoto is an intelligent writer, the anime series how ever, very inconsistent and full of padded out filler. I wish for once that shippuuden would retain the same quality as the original naruto series did. That was when the naruto series was really at its prime as far as animation and good adaptation. |
