You like cats and boobs ? Watch that anime. If not, watch Baccano instead same time, much better.

Why not J?

It was good but not great. People were just crying because they saw the previews and saw that it had great art and thought it must be great, but it didn't live up to their expectations.

Don't watch Baccano, watch Natsume Yujinchou instead, same time, much better.

Watch the anime if you want to watch it.
Even though the show is bad it has some great characters.

The story wasn't developed well and the pacing was a bit off at times.

Because it's terrible, unless you just want to see some shounen ai with boobs. What.

Pretty much this, people are easily swayed by flashy previews, raise their expectation to unreasonable levels and than hate an average/decent show more than it deserves.
I probably regret this post by now.

One fangirl claimed second season should be good...so I don't know.

To me, so many things were way undeveloped and left unexplained, only for things to get 'good' near the end. Most of the bulk is filled with flashy repetitive attacks that you already see in the intro, so the fights aren't really all that stellar to begin with.

Just this once, I'll fulfill whatever your wish is.

To me, it seems a majority of the budget was placed in the first episode.

Well, I still enjoyed the show as it did at least pick up the pace the 2nd half. Hopefully season 2 just bothers to explain the holes.

Because K was really gay.

So if you're into massive yaoi overtones and possible pairings for just about every character, then go for it. (It's clear that they wanted to make it appeal to both sides, so they have any female leads become unfittingly over sexualized as well.)

Otherwise it was an over calculated ripoff of like 6 popular shows, with this pretentious and obnoxious style to it.

The setting and OST was cool, but everything else was garbage.

So basically, if you're a homophobe and/or don't like fanservice, don't watch K.

But if you're immune to those things, give it a try.
sexual incest in nisomonogatari - no one bats an eye
romance incest in SAO - everyone loses their minds

Because it's not very good. I don't care to go into detail, it's not like it was really bad or anything. Just watch it if you want to and don't if you want to save yourself from mediocrity, but just don't make a thread about it. You could probably be done the show in the time you'll waste reading stupid replies like mine.

Hey, I love Shinsekai Yori, and I looked past the gay times in that.

The difference was that it wasn't pointless and didn't taint the show.

It started out relatively good, impressive animation, and a world with multiple factions. Then somewhere along the middle, it stagnated, and the art started getting progressively worse. Some people are annoyed by how hesitant the MC is throughout the anime. I still maintain that the anime is okay though... not good, but not horrible.

There is not "massive" yoai overtones, these homophobes don't know what they're talking about. Just because there's a pretty boy or two doesn't make it yoai.

I think people mainly complain that the story isn't all that well written. I agree the pacing is not always top-notch, but the plot was interesting enough and the visuals were very nice... I quite liked it, really.

If you hate shounen-ai so much you can't stand the slightest undertone of it though, don't watch. There isn't much of it, but just enough to tease the fujoshi fangirls and make them happy (me included) and, quite obviously, just enough to make shounen-ai haters complain about it.

I think it's because people got pissed over the several unexplained things in the anime's plotline? But those have been explained in the two mangas that K has. Also, there are also two light novels which explain the red and blue clans history if i'm not wrong? So I don't see how you can point a finger at the plot.
Then again, there was quite a bit of fanservice which probably put people off as well. Neko was annoying a lot of the time. There were a couple of shounen ai moments here and there but it's far from anything serious.
I quite enjoyed K myself, so I wouldn't tell you not to watch it, but it's not anything ALL that amazing so don't go for it if that's what you're currently looking for, I guess.

I'd say the art and music were above average, but the plot escalates really slow, plus there are alot of questionable factors in the plot. I really like most of the character's designs though

It's pretentious and pandering, like SAO.

K seems to think that its plot is a badass buildup in the style of Durarara!, but instead falls flat on its face because of how slow the story moves and how the story wants us to give a crap about various characters but fails to do so because the characters are written poorly.
