Pretty good first episode. I could do without all the bouncing boobs, though. |

I really enjoyed the first episode. I think I'm going to love this. It really did remind me a little of spice and wolf. I gotta say some scenes were pretty funny, especially when she said she wasn't appealing as a woman...she needs to get herself another mirror. |

Just like any other shounen in historical setting. In other words, another cliche anime. Still, I will follow this because of the VAs (Junjun, Morimori, Kamiyan, Tachibana Shinnosuke) and as it is only 12-episode. Also, I like the camera angles and focus/zooming (am not sure what's the technical term for that). |

Explaining the complexities of the war was pretty OK, but the characters seem absolutely awful. I will be completely amazed if they turn out to be anything asides from the generic, cookie-cutter personalities they appear to be now. It's a shame, but I was half expecting it to happen anyways. I'll give it a couple more episodes. |

I'm very unaware of the animes going to be show in this season, but this one have caught my atention and it seems to be going to be one of the big names this time. Adaptations from LN seems to be becoming more and more natural these days. Some seiyuus are quite familiar to me, someone can tell me who are Yuusha's seiyuu? |

I have some mixed feelings about the first episode, the spice and wolf feel this series has going for it makes me hopeful, but I have to admit these two don't seem like the type of characters who can 'save the world'. I'm glad I started and I will definitely finish the series so I hope it doesn't let me down. When the first episode aired, I came across this gif which put me off the series (Not a fan of over use of fan service) But it doesn't look like the series will have too much of this sort of material. |

Pretty nice though a lot of points seemed rushed and it feels much of the backstory was written off. It doesn't start out that way in the Manga or LN does it? The first five minutes into the story I'm instantly brought back to Monmusu Quest and I gotta tell ya, episode one may seem a bit jumpy but I'm very curious as to where this is headed. Might just zoom past the Anime and get down to the dirty and gritty good stuff in the Manga/LN. Can anyone who has followed the paper prints AND is familiar with Monmusu Quest how well they both fare? I mean if you don't know about Monmusu Quest, or just don't like hentai/pervert/eroge then please let it fly past you, but if you do know it I then personally think it's one of the strongest stories in recent years. Is Maoyuu Maou Yussha anything like that seeing as how it precedes MQ and is very similar in plot? Or does this suffer from first generation renovation and development? |

Yeah I don't mind some fan service, I just don't like it when the plot ends up resolving around fan service. Or lack of a plot should I say, anime which resolve around fan service don't tend to have one. Either way, I'm liking how this series started out. Fan service barely existed in the first episode, so I doubt it'd get to the point where it'd bother me. |

@Yumekichi here I did a count of those "SEGMENTS" that you love.. Criteria -Any SEGMENTS, that focuses on the obnoxious jiggling/movement of the breasts for over than 1 second is counted as fanservice -Cleavage Area Close up that's under 1 second is not counted for -Breast Movement that was caused naturally by character movement is not counted for Results: "SEGMENTS" = Time = Total Duration 1st = 3.45 - 3.50 = 5 secs 2nd = 4.33 - 4.34 = 1 sec 3rd = 15.24 - 15.26 = 2 secs 4th = 15.28 - 15.30 = 2 secs 5th = 18.24 - 18.32 = 8 secs In total 5 Segments that only took 24 seconds of the whole episode.... It's even fucking less than 30 seconds |

It's even fucking less than 30 seconds I am pretty sure, that you don't understand the problem. The problem is, that those segments exist and that there seems to be absolutely no reason why it should be the way it is. It is appaling to some people, I think someone already wrote that it was cheap. There is nothing great or fascinating about it and you just dislike or hate it. But maybe there is more, for example they disliked the concept of the whole character. |

I loved it ^^. The main pair is Koshimizu Ami and Fukuyama Jun, the same pair as Lawrence and Holo from Spice and Wolf! (anime). That's my second favourite series of all time overall (Anime/Novels), hands down! That scene where Maou said, "you don't even know about economics?" was such a low-blow to Lawrence, via Holo, lmfao. The relationship is that of a demon and a knight, they form a contract, the time period is medieval, economics of war is a major driving force of the series, there will definitely be travelling in the future, and the sceneries are beautiful. Yet still, it's NOT Spice and Wolf. It feels like a cheap-version of it (no offence), HOWEVER, a cheap version of something priceless is still pretty expensive ;). Though the aspect of war differentiates from it and there should be a lot of great action, swords and magic (notices semi-loli mages ^^). Also that blonde female knight was definitely Sawashiro Miyuki ^^, the rest of the companions look interesting enough as well. Really looking forward to the rest! 5/5 |

Now, who has the right to say that "There's no reason it should or should not exists"? Nobody. My main point was, "that Mayouu has fanservice but nothing to be worried about" and "It's just a small amount of fanservice, nothing to make a fuss about", this was directed to those wary about this turning into a fanservice galore. But suddenly and unprovoked,"he" decided to make a fuss about a harmless fanservice that doesn't even take 30 seconds of the whole episode. And this is not his first time over-blowing things out of proportion when it involves fanservice. |

Ok, I have two problems with this story: 1. Why would Hero even agree in first place? He should be perfectly convinced that demons are deceptive creatures and that demon girl may be simply confusing him. Why would he believe statistics that she provided (especially since he is no merchant)? This anime tries to be intelligent, so their first meeting should be pretty ugly. It would make more sense for them to fight, she spares him and then they built up trust or such. Or anything else really. 2. Ok, she convinces him that war better than peace for their people and they should look for alternative. By traveling and being a silly couple. The idea that traveling and seeing world would provide such miraculous answers is simply retarded. Even more so given that their are abandoning their own duties. But its ok, we got economic exposition. That makes it all right. Moreover, i do not understand why people compare it to Spice and Wolf. At least that anime made sense (not counting witty dialogue and economic talks). |

Same Seiyuu, Medieval setting, Economic factor, Demon/Human couple, travelling, sceneries, etc. As I mentioned in my first post, this is like the cheap-man's Spice and Wolf (quite a few aspects). No one is saying they are the same entirely, or the same quality in those specific aspects for that matter. Though it's the closest thing to that setting, no? I'm still going to enjoy it, even if it's not nearly as much as Spice and Wolf (but then again, there isn't really anything else out there that I do enjoy as much in the first place. Literally re-watched it 9-10 times, and read novels). Also, there will definitely be action in this one as there are knights, demons, mages and a WAR as well, so that will be another appealing factor for many, and will raise the "quality/appeal" in the parts that differentiate from Spice and Wolf. So no they aren't the same thing, just have plenty of similar aspects. The directors seemed to have noticed too, that's why we have the same Seiyuu, singers etc. |

Then Maou shows up being everything but evil with an explanation that makes sense. 2. It was figurative speech: the idea of going over the hill is a metaphor for Mao's final objective generating a cultural revolution able to beat the medieval stasis and medieval mindset via a series of agricole/economic/social politics |

It's as bad as milking people off with Spice Wolf hentai mangas. You don't care that you were proven wrong? Stunning argument. And what on earth do doujinshi have to do with the main series? Porn is made for every show that airs, Spice and Wolf is no exception. It's not as if the people who make the show actively assist in the doujinshi drawing process. Why are you so stupid? No no. A better question would be "why the fuck did he count the no. of times the boobs bounced, if he didn't like it?" kaimax said: What you did to not count, I counted. Counted every single one of them AND DON'T BS ME! A lot of natural poses never had the bounce. It happened magically? HEY MAN! That's not only forced but convenient. Are you blind man? That notion is there.@Yumekichi here I did a count of those "SEGMENTS" that you love.. It's even fucking less than 30 seconds Kyube said: Nah it's forced. One time the character sits no bounce and another time she does and bounce. YOU THINK I AM STUPID AFTER OVER 10 YEARS OF ANIME? No one is. It's placed on purpose.kaimax said: @Yumekichi here I did a count of those "SEGMENTS" that you love.. |

The original material itself has some fanservice, but it's not that much when compared to "REAL" fanservice animes. Perhaps if you weren't so intent on watching and counting the bouncing you would have noticed that there was some dialogue going on most of the time, so the fanservice hasn't really taken time from the story development. So far at least. BuliTM said: * For the first one, I also thought he agreed too easily, it would have been more believable to make a temporary truce while he saw by himself if she was right or not... Then again, the hero is kind of a simpleton, so I'm not too bothered with his naivete (but I hope he changes, I don't like dull MCs)Ok, I have two problems with this story: 1. * As for the second one, you didn't get the point. What she said is that it would be bad to stop the war right away. Remember the part where she said something like: "It's the army's job to end the way, but the king's to chose where (meaning how and when)" The hero understood (somehow, perhaps by miracle) that her intention is to prepare the human nations for a time of peace, so that they don't collapse when the war ends. The couple won't be just travelling, but interfering with the economy. |

Well seems like it to me. It's really ironic that all she says has to do with USA"s policy running in Irak/Afghanistan and Syria. Very ironic but natural. Most of Japan is anti USA after all. |

I was really skeptical about the anime adaptation, but thankfully, the first episode looks good! I do hope they maintains the pace tho. S&W is great overall, but in the end, the pace got rather drawn out. I wonder how much they can do with only 12 episodes? Providing there will be no second season? |

If she mentioned technology, the hero's brain might have exploded. (Ok, that's a lame excuse, but let's just go with the flow) I don't think it's a direct analogy of USA policies. It's very generic, it can apply to a good deal of war situations in history. Anyway, I think going directly to the human kings to propose a peace treaty followed by a cooperative economical development plan would be far more effective and a lot less dramatic, but I'm just here to see what the story has to offer, not what it could/should have been. |

I dropped this show exactly at 4 minutes and 38 seconds, which is a record not easily surpassed. Let's recap what happened in those 2 minutes after OP: a brave hero storms the castle alone, determined to slay the Demon Lord once and for all which would end the war. The demon turns around, and our hero comes to screeching halt. Tits of the demon say "boing" as she moves a bit. The brave hero blushes, rapidly backs away from the boobs, screaming in frightened and horror-bound voice "keep your tits away from me". Thus closeth the MPCHC, and the finely crafted mkv-file begoth deleted. |
