Both seasons have scenes that I like in the LN some of them being better than I thought they would be.
Although the scene I was waiting for since season 1 ,Saber vs Lancelot was ruined.Oh well....

Awaiting for trolls to vote Both sucks...

Both seasons kick ass, even though the first season was better paced.
They both have their flaws, but i loved them both.
Waaaay to lazy to add a forum avatar, or whatever they are called.

I like the first season more as it was not centered around Kiritsugu.

It was, it just had a lot of Kiritsugu scenes taken out. But the first volumes of the novels had plenty of him.

I like the first season more than the second
what it disappointed in the second season is the final episode ...i mean what happen in the final episode was not explained enough .... every one has his opinion about what happen ... someone say that fire was because of Kirei wish "the gail grant Kirei wish", on other one say it's because the hatred and anger of the grail "the grail didnt grant any wish " ...add to this " Kirie revive" someone say it's because of the grail give him an "artificial heart"... another one say it's a coincidence ....i just feel the ending is incomprehensible

It was a coincidence that the destruction was what Kirei wanted.

Which is wrong with what I said how?Dont forget that the grail would destroy no matter what wish was made or even without one.Kirei got what he wanted but not because the grail was kind enough to grant his wish.

The Second Season had a better pace and twists than the first season, with a satisfying ending and good character development. It was surely worth its time.

Even if a wish is made, it will interpret it with nothing else than destruction, and grant it. Moreover, once it has been opened, it will keep flowing out infinitely and bring disaster.

S2 had be glued to the screen from start to finish, S1 didn't. Earliest few episodes weren't that great for me but they were still necessary.

The first season is definitely better paced. However, the second season is superior in terms of sheer content, even though they left out some details (and even two major scenes) from the light novels. So I don't really know what I should say. As a stand alone, S1 doesn't work, but in terms of execution it was better. S2 has more action and despair, bringing us the resolution. So I'll vote for both, as in my mind they're one and only work anyway.

Considering the first half is build up and the second half is where everything goes down, the second half is going to be better.

That isn't to say that both weren't great. As has been said, first half had better pacing (read: less cuts) though. I blame Rin's Adventure.

Though I will say that episode 23 was the best episode, imo.

Don't really see the reason to compare them, since neither of them would work with out the other. So, I vote both. Can't wait until the second seasons blu-ray so I can marathon it completely.

I enjoyed the second season more. It seemed more epic and powerful.

I would like to ask, why was it split into two seasons (sorry if it has been asked before)?

Hopefully BDs will change my mind...
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

Budget reasons. The studio itself kept the numbers of the episode as if they were 1 and the same.

I loved the first season but I'm currently having a hard time getting through the second. I think the pacing is to blame.
