Bleh. I don't know. This series doesn't look like it's going to end out so good... This was all too predictable -_- Like I mentioned before, the relationship between Makoto, Sekai, and Katsura is just too cliche. You see these kind of relationships all the time in high school. I was hoping for something more unique, and more dramatic. But I'll keep watching the series since it's not that long :P |

I can't believe all you people and the whole "characters should die", I mean, yeah he's cheating and that's horrible... but to kill him because of it? I dunno... I will say I find it slightly refreshing to have a male lead that isn't a complete wuss. I know he's a horrible guy, but it's different than the norm in anime which is nice. =P |

Seriously.. it's like Sekai used Katsura to sort of ready Makoto for a relationship or something. Then Makoto after struggling with Katsura being so nervous quickly dumps her even though she's fine with the relationship now. That last scene with Katsura's little sister and herself just made me start to hate Makoto. |

He doesn't want to be with Kotonoha because she doesn't move as fast as he wants and he cant just say that to her. He doesn't talk to her about anything he just complains to Sekai and cant do anything on his own. He's a wuss and a would be rapist if Sekai wasn't such a slut >_> |

Kotonoha seems a bit more bold now. To the people who hate Sekai, though, I think that's unfair. It's not like she can help who she likes, can she? And Sekai tried to keep Makoto with Kotonoha, but it's a bit hard to resist the temptation when Sekai likes Makoto. As well, Makoto's an ordinary teenage boy. Why do people hate him so much? To those of you who hate him for his sexual needs and immature ways of dealing with them, do you hate ALL precocious teenagers? 'Cause I think that's just sad. Up until now, the only character I could find myself hating was Kotonoha, because she was just so annoying with her shyness, but now I like all the characters. |

I've noticed that there's a lot of anti-Makoto sentiment all over internet but even if he is an unsympathetic character, he most definitely seems the most real. It seems a lot of people who hate him seem to do so perhaps out of a jealousy of his situation, coupled with the "if I were him" daydreams....it seems some guys are forgetting what it's like being a guy. Twiffle said: As well, Makoto's an ordinary teenage boy. Why do people hate him so much? I'd have to agree with a lot of what you've said. I also couldn't find myself liking Katsura in the first few episodes because of her odd sense of self-possession but since episode 4, she's finally realizing her priorities as someone in a relationship. As for Makoto... |

Lmao guys, get a freaking grip. I don't think it's just because Sekai 'moves' faster than Kotonoha. Sekai and Makoto know each other for much longer, right? They spent countless days together and even if they didn't mean to go it that way, they got to know each other so damn well. The difference between that and what Makoto experiences with Kotonoha is huge. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about. And that 'this character and that character need to die' crap is something you always see in anime discussions. It's fine to not like a certain character, but just saying s/he needs to die makes you look weird. About the episode, the first half at the pool was damn funny. I don't remember laughing at a School Days scene as much as I did this time. Looking forward to more Conclave subs. |

What Makoto does isn't normal... only because he's incredibly stupid and abnormally honest in some situations. High school is full of people like him, they're just not quite as stupid or open. As far as the whole Kotonoha/Sekai thing goes... I can't figure it out. I can't figure out what Kotonoha likes about Makoto. Makoto/Kotonoha is a horrible pairing, seriously. Makoto/Sekai makes a lot more sense, and not [just] because "she's a slut." It's a much more realistic pairing (what? realism in MY School Days?). But hey, that's why this anime is fun. It's completely illogical and ridiculous most of the time. Having big debates or whatever over a series like this is pointless. |

Sorry, but even as a guy, I dislike Makoto with great intensity. I hate womanisers in real life, so I dislike him in this anime. I wouldn't go as far as to say that he deserves to die, but he definately needs to be taken down a peg or two. And Sekai? She likes to point out that Kotonoha is fragile and insecure, but she's not exactly "at one with everything" herself. There's a lot of explosive ingredients being thrown into the cooking pot right now, so I think it's going to bubble right over the edge... I also agree with Twiffle. People, please be civillised, there's no need to make personal attacks against people who disagree with you. The purpose of a discussion is to hear other people's opinions. If you disagree, say why you disagree (in a mature manner), it makes a discussion much more interesting. Although on that note, Neverender also has a point. There's only so much you can look into an anime like this. But we can sure as hell try to push it! |

uhmmm....... NO DOES NOT MEAN YES. makoto really bothers me now. he's like a 13 year old teenage boy who cant think from his head, only his dick. Just because sekai will do more with him he "loves" her. katsura is my favorite character. she is just nice, has SELF RESPECT (unlike sekai), and is really trying to deal with this whole "relationship" thing. makoto needs to stop watching the porn and realize that relationships dont start off with sex, it builds UP to it. and depending on the girl it takes either a long or short time. i'm justy completely frustrated with the main character. personally i dont mind womanizers, especially in a show. yeah, i'd hate them.. but not as much as i hate makoto right now. hes just a perverted loser. he doesnt know how to charm women to get with him. he just FORCES himself onto them. almost like a sketchy rapist. dude.. makoto is borderling rapist AHHH.. the sad part is he doesnt even have the personality to make it seem somewhat acceptable. nope, his personality is a piece of crap, and he cant think with his brain , only his penis. he really needs to grow up. they're in what.. highschool? this isnt middle school people... Alright. So Makoto's a douche. I'm not going to be dishonest, I partially hate him for the situation he's in. "I got a hot moe girlfriend but because she doesn't put out quickly enough I'll go with this easier girl" >_>; But this is just an anime, and reading too much into it (especially considering it came from an h game) probably won't get ya anywhere. As far as I can see, Makoto is a bit perverted, I would _not_ go as far as saying he's a rapist (or potential rapist). He just seems like a guy who listens to the wrong head sometimes if you get what I'm saying haha. There are a ton of them in highschool's all over the world :P Sekai, I feel she doesn't have too much blame with the situation how it is. She really liked Makoto, and not betraying Katsura was important to her... Shit happens I guess. I just feel sorry for Katsura :( she was just starting to open up more with Makoto. OH another thing that came to mind during the past 5 episodes, I think Makoto is losing interest in Katsura because the relationship is higher maintenance then he expected, not just because she "won't put out". He seemed exasperated with figuring out if "the mood was right" trying to get to know Katsura better, dealing with her energetic little sister. Etc. Sekai on the other hand is someone who he has an easy relationship with. Everything comes easy with Sekai (lol). But I really do think that Makoto does have some real feelings for Sekai, and I believe it's not 100% lust. That still doesn't excuse what he's doing though. :P Sorry for the tl;dr but school days seems to attract rant-like posts hahaha |

I agree with OranSolus, I hate Makoto because I hate guys that are womanizers. That's the main reason I hate Makoto. I understand Makoto's feeling as a guy, he can't help it. But it's just that HIS COMPLETE IGNORANCE ABOUT THE GIRL'S FEELING makes me somehow frustrated to him. Anyone can complain that he's super-pervert and hate him that way, but that's what a guy is. Although, there's some that isn't really so much a pervert. But there's no guy here in the word that don't think perverted stuffs even a little bit. It's just that Makoto is super-perverted-don't care about the feelings of the girl person. That's why I hate Makoto. He doesn't care about the feelings of love as long as he can get what he wants (and that's perverted stuffs). We say that Makoto can die, that really isn't seriously wanting to kill him show-off. But just a mere expression on how we really hate that kind of guy. We just can't stand people like them, so they're better off dead. (just like what KIRA would think about the criminals) Anyway, as cyruz said, this episode also made me laugh for the first half. And made me toki-doki for the second half.. lol! ^_^ |

...So he falls in love with a girl and then he thinks she's to slow he moves onto someone else? -_- That's just pathetic. He goes through all that trouble and for what? Nothing. So in the end he ends up RAPING Sekai...smooth...So far my interpretation of this show is that of a hentai with a story and it doesn't show anything... I wonder what Katsura will do...I hope she kills that slut Sekai and then tortures Matoko in a Sonozaki style. That would be perfect. :) |

I'm on Sekai's side here actually. She and Makoto know each other a lot better and they spent more time together. It inevitable for her to fall for Makoto, it would of happened soon or later so don't blame her. But at the end, it's all Makoto's fault. How can I put it, he is a lazy person? The relationship with Kotonoha is falling mainly because Makoto has found out that that he has to put in more effort than he was expecting. In other words, he is too rushed. <--Fail If Makoto really chooses Sekai, at least break up properly with Kotonoha. It's going to hurt her, but it's better than letting things drag on. tl;dr : Sekai isn't wrong, Kotonoha isn't wrong. Makoto fails at decision making. |

This show is (semi-) typical High School drama. If Sekai hadn't seen the picture Makoto had taken of Kotonoha, then Sekai and Makoto would probably be going out and everything would be just fine. I think Sekai and Makoto are the better couple. They seem more at ease around each other, and being able to let go of pretenses and be yourself is part of what being in a relationship is about. Makoto made a bad choice by *having sex* with Sekai, but revealing his feelings (I think) was a step in the right direction. As for Kotonoha, it would be very difficult (especially for Makoto) to say to her, "Well, we've only been dating for a few weeks, but I've decided that I'm going to dump you for the girl who's been giving me advice on how to date you." |

if the game was an indication on anything for this anime, its that the intention was to get us to hate Makoto in order to justify the end. i dont mind the main character since its his role to be hated, and i see that its working for a lot of people. but, the idea of this show is to demonstrate that there are consequences to how we do things with other people, and that betrayal can led to the worst consequence of all: death. |

I think that it's just that it's Kotonoha's first relationship/first time experimenting. So, as her trust builds...along with her first time feeling something that sort of resembles love, it would make sense that she would cling to it. If you remember the first time you were dating, remember that feeling in your chest/stomach? It was amazing. Your first relationship was probably a disaster, it was probably poorly matched - yet I bet that tingly feeling kept it fueled... I guess in some way Makoto is kind of learning that looks aren't everything. He was physically attracted to Kotonoha...but now he's discovering that that alone isn't enough to hold his interest... my opinion anyway |

To tell the truth, all i was thinking while seeing this anime was: This anime is just taking a piece of reality and distorting it, making we hate the characters more then we'd normally do. I also posted a comment in episode 2 discussion linking events to my reality. What i'm saying is that i don't see it with hatred for some character or expecting any punishment for their bad actions. If that's what will come, them come. I'm just enjoying another opinion from other director. I've seen many dramas like that in my country. I'm just expecting to see what's coming next. Then, if i have to hate something forever after the end, it will be their actions, and nothing more then that. I will continuing to recommend this to friends who are looking for something like that. That's all. off-topic Anyways, did you know there were some "civilizations" (i think "tribes" fits better) in which both men and women could go to bed with different partners every day and that was morally accetable? That was their way of expressing feelings of love. I know all these "tribes" must have been engulfed by modern civilization, but it takes you to think how moral can decide things in your very life... Maybe in future people see this anime/discussions and say: "How impure this is!!" or else "How childish this is!" or even "People from the past were so slow...", with a totally different aproach!! |

I feel sorry for everyone involved, Makoto the least. Sekai really liked him, and did whatever she could to be with him. I do not think that Makoto is all about lust though, as has been already said, Makoto and Sekai knew each other much better and hung out much more whereas Sekai and Kotonoha only started hanging out after Makoto started liking her. It just seems like Makoto and Sekai had a better friendship to build a relationship from that Makoto and Kotonoha, and plus Kotonoha being high maintenance and Sekai being easy going. It is however stupid how Makoto handled it, he should have never gone behind Kotonohas back. The scene with Kotonoha and her sister was very sad... |

I did not like this episode. Poor Kotonoha. She's finally warming up to him and their relationship but I guess it was a little too late for Makoto. Dumbest part of this episode is when Makoto confesses to Sekai and then starts groping her. I mean come on. How the hell is that supposed to convey his 'love' for her? That's one of the most shallow betrayals of all time and I can't take this serious anymore because of it. |

I'm not sure I like this "psychological" type of anime. It just seems so unbelievable that people would act as they do. I guess there are people like that out there somewhere but watching it in this show is just painful... Maybe I shouldn't read the reviews any more.
