Ua, the atmosphere sure is getting heavy. Wonder what's going to happen now, after the climax in the form of battle in the capital. Part of the cast got wiped out, rest is changing... So, what's the plot now?

THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.

Ehh... it was better when it was on hiatus xD
This chapter was... interesting to say the least, at least after so much time without Break Blade.
He should've killed them though...

easy to see why Rygart would be pissed, they deserved an ass kicking but there will always be people like that.

Sigyn was looking hot.

Seems Hodr wants to keep Sigyn afterall. If Rygart can't get with her, then I vote Narvi.

lol so he is a man after all. still though, that is kinda dumb since he had pretty much given her up. she was kinda of tacky for giving him that chance....of which he took. even so..the whole thing has always been superficial. it will be interesting to see how this play out from this point on.

What you'd expect of a chapter that came after a break: reaffirming that Rygart has started to lose it, after Girge's sacrifice, and the whole queen divorce/love triangle issue rising to the surface.

The timing is right for Rygart and Sigyn's relationship to take the stage, now that the war is on-hold and the reason Hodr was willing to allow divorce is no more. However, the Hodr-Sigyn marriage has come across as no more than a romance stalling plot device, so far, and neither party has been shown to care for the other. So, it seems off for Hodr to have suddenly jumped on Sigyn so passionately... if he didn't just imagine it, that is. Can't help but see it as an excuse for forced drama.

Hopefully Sigyn rejects Hodr's advances since everything prior has suggested that she only married him 'cause Rygart left and that she's only ever loved Rygart. But if she does patch-up her relationship with him, I can't see it doing an already mentally unstable guy, who Girge revealed is only truly fighting for Sigyn, much good.

I can't say I'd object TOO MUCH to the idea of Rygart hooking up with Narvi (penis/ball shooting/slicing = LOVE), if melodrama is the direction the author is going with. And it might be cool to see the king act more like a jealous bastard and less like a plot device. Rygart refusing to fight for him or Hodr discarding him = popcorn.

I called narvi X rygart after they first spoke on the bridge when he asked if she "wanted to see em?" If it doesnt go that way, the author changed their minds.

Sigyn getting with rygart would only be allowed if her and the "king" had not done the deed yet. If they had, there would be at least... SOME kind of connection between them and would not make sense if they split up. Im thinking she fell for him just then, except she was just "worried" about rygart previous.

I think the author is fishing for a good direction after a hiatus. There are MANY examples of the "expected" or "obvious" outcome not occurring. Anime, manga, novels are predictable, IF the author has a history of being that way.

I like it when the underdog wins (rygart), but in a sense, this is the "expected" outcome. I believe another way to do it would be more like.... rygart dies eventually and his brother takes on his role. Maybe with Zess being the one to kill- or render him comatose or something - then rygart's bro has a part, with the king and sigyn dying in a battle. later rygart wakes up and has some kind of realization, since his "reason" to fight is dead. But then that would be predictable. :/

Narvi's a potential love interest for Rygart ONLY because there are no other options, Sigyn aside. I wouldn't describe Rygart teasing Narvi with his balls and risking losing them as romantic developments, myself, but it is true that she's in the best position to understand him, at the moment--her having fought alongside him and all. But it's doubtful a love interest would be ok with abandoning 'her man', as she did when Rygart and Girge were captured. Love is meant to defy logic and all that...

I see where you're coming from with the 'virgin heroine' angle, but with the cast 25ish - Zess even having a wife and child - I'd be disappointed if the author tries to sell his work to creepy otaku by allowing Sigyn to have kept her chastity for the hero... in spite of being a married woman of five years. If there happened to be some kind of political reasoning behind the marriage then I MIGHT buy it, but Sigyn was a commoner pre-marriage, and I don't see what either party had to gain from their union. There needs to be information shared about their relationship, starting with the next chapter.

It's clear why the author decided to put the series on-hold: it doesn't really have anywhere to go. Girge is dead, Borcuse is dead, Zess was already defeated and Rygart has the best mecha in the land. Since it isn't as if Zess can just pull a new, all-powerful Gundam out of his arse that can compete with an ancient, non-rock mecha, the only way Rygart and his country can lose at this point is through internal conflict; from within... which is more than likely why Hodr suddenly decided he wanted Sigyn and pounced on her. I can't really see it going in such a direction when the broship between Rygart and Hodr has been so strong, and Hodr as a character having been more of a plot device than person, but Sigyn creating a rift between the two and their friendship crumbling under the strain would be an interesting direction for the story to go in... the only interesting direction that comes to mind, actually.

...Anyway. Rygart has gone from pacifistic to the point of taking beatings without fighting back to killing in cold blood and attempting to attack people from behind with a bar. His psychological state worsening gradually over the course of the series is what keeps me reading. For others, they're probably only reading in order to see Rygart get it on with Sigyn, going on the multiple pages of discussion dedicated to the events of chapter 55. I wouldn't drop it if Sigyn stuck with Hodr, but many others probably would. So, I'm doubtful the author is going to commit BB suicide by doing so, but we'll have to wait and see.

We still have the Orlando plotline that needs to be expounded upon, so it was a bit odd to see the author take this direction. IMO he needs to stick with the mecha battles he's drawing on a dry well in the chapter.

Yes, where is chapter 56? As for chapter 55, I wonder where the author will take this story. The war and all the plots have basically been fulfilled and whatnot.

Rygart's definitely snapped in some way as his passive nature isn't there as much anymore. We'll have to see what'll happen to him in the future. I can't really see him together with Narvi because I think they have more of a brother/sister kind of relationship, but who knows.

As for Sigyn and Hodr... I'm kinda off on this one. I read from about chapter 40+ in the manga and the rest was anime. If I recall correctly, Rygart even asked Hodr about it, and he's like "Nah, we don't have a spark anymore..." and now we learn that the divorce was put up only so Sigyn wouldn't have to be executed if it came to that. And now, the dude jumps on her and... I don't think it'll work out because even though Hodr made it seem like he never had feelings for her, Sigyn never made a move on Hodr either. I think Sigyn still has really strong feelings towards Rygart and they will get together in the end, since Rygart only ignored her feelings because he didn't want her to live a bad life of being married to someone that can't manipulate Quartz.

But to further the plot, I think Rygart will turn into something like what Girghe was and he'll commit some murders and stuff then be thrown in jail. Dunno what happens after that.

That sounds reasonable. After Girge's death, Rygart wanted to be more like him. During his drunken state Rygart keeps saying how much he looks up to him. As shown is the latest chapters he is becoming much more ruthless. This change in personality may be the reason that Sigyn is showing less interest in him.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Sigyn accepts Hodr's advances given that we know so little about their relationship.

Wow, the ending of BB chapter 55 was a complete mind-fuck -_-"
After reading the last few pages a couple times, the only thing i could process was this:

Since Sigyn came up to Bodr (pardon me if i get the names wrong) with the divorce letter, she came up to him with the purpose to hear and confirm what she had to say and the conditions that were before her and him.

She states that she had signed it on the same day, AFTER the major battle (<--VERY IMPORTANT POINT)

She then asks whether it was valid, and states that the order of athens to kill the royal family was up-lifted, this caught Bodr by surprise.

Sigyn then states that she knew that her life was at risk 2 DAYS BEFORE she got the letter
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Do you know what this means people!?!?
Sigyn didn't sign the divorce letter even though she knew that her life was at risk!!!! Instead, she signed it AFTER the battle.
Sigyn could've just signed the bloody thing and save her own skin but she didn't she stood loyal to Bodr and her kingdom!!! That means she still has feelings and loyalty to Bodr even though it seemed she was attracted to Rygart!!!

Then the jaw-dropping scene occurs, Bodr rips the divorce letter to shreds and embraces sigyn, SO after analysis, what I can safely conclude the following points:
1) Sigyn has had more loyalty towards Bodr than was shown, this implies that sigyn could've had secret feelings for Bodr the entire time and the author didn't bring it out.
2) At the end Bodr realized the loyalty Sigyn had shown even though his kingdom was on the virge of collapse and he realized that Sigyn was willing to follow him to death if the time came, this I think really touched Bodr and he realised what a great person Sigyn was, this ignited an interest in him, so out of passion he ripped apart the divorce letter, and embraced sigyn with an attitude of thank fullness and love!

What I predict could happen next is that Bodr will show more interest towards sigyn in the future, but poor sigyn will be completely torn apart between Bodr and Rygart,

Anyways thats all i could analyse :P , I really hope the this manga continues for a loong time, I feel like it has potential, I REALLY REALLY LOVE the pacing of the story, the drawings in my opinion are absolutely wonderful and also feel a sense of intense drama is brewing in the future, Oh well, all we can do is wait

Yeah! This manga become hard to develop further more due to some critical common mistake (my opinion)

Rygart (main char) somehow is very poor, he dont even have a girlfriend or a (real) friend to cling to
Even a bunch of nice girls show up but our Hero get nothing. And the Queen make thing worse with some NTR feelings.
Two of his friend are bad too, first one is the general of enemy's country, and the last is the bastard king whose wife is a selfish b*tc*.

So although, he is a nation's hero, what is good about that he has nothing at all even the power come from the acient's tech golem. (Plus the trauma attacks from people died for him)
----> I love this manga's world, how the gundam fights work but the main char is unbearable, that piss me off so much, if i could chose who must be the main one then that must be Zess, his fate up till now is more better and happier.

About Sigyn:
She is just a weak mind girl who dont even know what she want, so the question is why she has a crush on Rygart and still be a queen (Bodr's wife), these are some come up guests:
1. She want to make Rygart jealous and come to her
2. Bodr likes her so he ask and she agree while she come to that age
3. To solve some hidden problems that force Sigyn to marry the king
4. She want to at least marry the one who close to her lover <---- its worst (NTR)
My opion after read chap 55 is both 1 and 2, she comes to Bodr to ask about the divorce letter, that mean she is confused (f*ck) and for our kind main char's advice, the good-for-nothing king jump on her. (urge to kill's rasing!)
The even that could happen that Rygart will be broken completely (while the author is bad at romance so i dont have faith that Narvi will fall for Rygart even this change a lot) and become more rage in up coming the battle with Zeuss.
Sigyn and Bodr are no change much cause the girl is a negative type, and about the her chastity, this one is shounen manga, make the main heroine unpured is crazy (some shounen will enjoy suiciding than keep going with the manga LOL, but some seinen do like this)
And moreeee... gundam fights with nation conflicts too.

The truth is this manga make me feel really bad for some days... Its just like the day i read a NTR manga T.T but the manga is really good in many ways, so i cant stand to read the next chap, but still hoping some (pure) romances and some comedy to make it even better.

And IF MODE =):
1. Rygart dies in action xD , his brother, Regatz becomes a new pilot of special golem, with his childhood girlfriend love he fight to protect the country, and the princess of Krisna too (daughter of Sigyn and Bodr xD)
2. Rygart had a girlfriend for back up in the beginning of the series that he rescue her a long the way with his brother, and they finally reunite at the capital (she must be a S-Type LOL)
3. A pervert friend show up with a lot of knowledge about entertain (must be a funny guy), show him the" right" way and make the manga become easier (BTW, Rygart somehow is a perv too xD)
4. Some hidden power awake make his life both better and worse ---> conquer or reunite the world and make a huge concubine without mind about "that" girl, even its tragedy, but the fun along the series cant be forgotten easily
5. And the last one may be not and IF but more like a hope that to happen is when Bodr want to reward Rygart a (noble) wife for his loyalty, even the political marriage is okay, as long as hes no more a poorest man in that world, and the rest just dont care

look at the title -"Broken Blade"... I love the manga until last screen in chapter 55...
If she will do that ...Rygart will be completely broken .
When I saw that I felt disappointed , She should say that He loves Rygart and want to be with him. That's all .

That would really suck if Rygart and Sigyn cannot be together...but Narvi seems to have feelings for Rygart also and maybe could be a better match for him. I kinda want to see what would have happened if Narvi did not stop Rygart.

Woah! Didn't expect that last scene at all :O

Things are gonna get ugly.

I wonder how Sigyn will answer.

And although I'm loving RygartxSigyn...I totally wouldn't mind a RygartxNarvi, they click :3
