Hey guys, I looked to see if there was a thread on this already, but I didn't find one.

Does anyone watch their anime on a PSP? I've been thinking of getting one because I'm not home much to watch any of the anime I download.

So! Anything I should know about this?

Well i can only advice you to test first the episodes before leaving home. I also watch anime on psp and some subs (dunno why) are simply too small to read easly.

Besides that it is a bit small for the lovers of big screens but its pretty good because you can kill your bug for anime anywhere you wish :p

I actually bought Cowboy Bebop: The movie on PSP and it looks pretty good to me. I guess you have to convert them first when you copy them to the memory card of your PSP.

I watch anime on my PSP, great way to kill a boring spare or when you're in a waiting room / long ride, etc. But yeah, like Static said, make sure the subs are readable, you don't want to have to strain your eyes. Otherwise, I've never had any problems with doing this, its the main reason I wanted a PSP at all.

I watch anime on my PSP as well. Usually it's for long car rides when I'm not the one driving. I don't usually like to watch "good" anime on it because I would rather enjoy the better ones at home, so it's a good way to get through the "okay" anime . . . which I don't know why I would watch in the first place, but once I start I usually just stick with it.

I watch anime on my PSP quite often when I don't want to go to my comp to watch.

I don't know if its possible to watch my anime stored in External Hard Drive through PS3. I'm planning to buy one.

I always watch anime on my PSP. The only thing you have to take care of is having all your anime to AVI format so that you can convert it to PSP-MP4 format.

Remember to have a 768 bitrate for high quality video.

I used to put anime on my PSP, but it's a bit of a hassle having to convert them so now I just put them on a USB stick and use my tiny laptop.. it's only like 1kg anyway.

That's a handy laptop but not handheld.

Oh yeah the reason that it has to be AVI because the subs are already intact converting MKV to MP4 will result to unsubbed video.

I don't mind it since I put anime into my collection as AVI.

I stashed 20 episodes or so of TTGL on my memorystick so I could watch it on a field exercise. Worked just fine, fortunately, the episodes were all .avi's with hardsubs.

Saw Dokuro-chan on a friend's PSP during a school field trip, worked just fine. Subs were small, yet readable, so no problems there. :3
I'd prefer a laptop over a PSP any day though. But if you're on the bus , then sure, go with a PSP :p.

That's a sign that you don't handle your PSP in a proper way.

When I had one back in 06 I watched a couple of movies on it (Akira and Ah! My Goddess irc) but it really wasn't my thing. I demand a 15" screen and thats a absolute minimum. However, I must admit it was pretty nice to watch anime everywhere.

Oh yeah some series don't work well with other converters. I find WinAVI MP4 Converter the best one. Encodes faster than the other coverters and it seems the most compatible one.

Yeah, I sometimes watch on my PSP, but it always has an error which is very irritating especially when the part is good.

Try using WINAVI MP4 Converter. It hasn't failed for me yet. I've watched a lot of anime through my PSP, so I can tell that this is one of the most reliable converters.

After fixing up my PSP recently this has become a bit of an hobby and nostalgia trip, since I would've done that as a kid if I had more than a 32MB card.
I put Your Name onto it and might actually do a rewatch like this.

On a sidenote I now also want to try this on other systems like the DS, GBA, etc.

Get PS VITA. the Borderlands Edition. Jailbreak it and buy a micro SD and adapter for the micro SD for up to 1 TB storage. Also you can play PSP games on Vita too so win-win
