THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

The meeting between Vitalis and Remi's mother would easily be interpreted by modern viewers as an example of institutional sexism, and such an interpretation would of course be correct. But even so, I find Vitalis's dream of turning Remi into "a real man" to be somehow inspirational.

The previous episodes on the "Swan" was so good, i really enjoyed it. the enjoyable happy family moments, the sad ones regarding Arthur's illness and Remi and Mrs. Milligan relationship. i was starting to lose interest in the anime due to the repetitiveness, but i got hooked on once Remi met Mrs. Milligan for the first time.

Hope the anime maintain it's quality and keep things fresh instead of getting back to the repetitive formula it had before.

Oh man, this episode got me teary-eyed towards the end. No matter which decision was made it would have been both sad and sweet at the same time. The only compromise I could think of was Vitalis also joining life on The Swan and everyone living happily ever after, but I guess Vitalis has a point with what he said. He definitely got through to Mrs. Milligan. Poor Arthur though, he didn't even get to say a proper goodbye to Remi.
I'm pretty sure that we'll see Mrs. Milligan again at some point thanks to all the spoilering/foreshadowing the narrator has done in these past episodes so for now I'm staying optimistic and will try to look forward to more traveling with Vitalis and seeing Remi grow more independent.
I probably regret this post by now.

Not gonna lie, I'm really gutted that Remi cannot stay with Mrs Milligan and Arthur. Both of them were really kind towards Remi and provided him a place to stay.

Saying goodbye was never going to be an easy job... but I'm sure we will meet both of em again in the future :) And VITALIS is back! Things are already looking better and better for Remi!

It was a really tough choice to make. Staying on The Swan would be really unfair towards Vitalis who suffered for 2 months in a prison while Remi had the best time of his life, while leaving The Swan is very sad for Arthur who might have little time left, plus the whole fact they're related. I hope Remi gets to actually see Arthur again in the future.

Such a hard to watch farewell!

And yet again Remi's fate was decided by someone else. It wasn't an easy choice, but I can't help but think that Vitalis was selfish, I'm happy for him and the crew, but what children need is a safe, stable and preferably happy environment to grow up, not the cold harshness of life if it can be helped. But it was too soon for a happy ending, the truth of Remi's origin is still hidden and so it's goodbye for now.

So good to see Vitalis finally free... what a scenario this is, Remi having to leave his real family while both sides don't know the truth. I can't think of a more depressing twist of fate. Him being with Vitalis will undoubtedly be more beneficial to him in the long run.

Already seeing some flags for Vitalis tho, I hope it's nothing serious.

Every fucking time... I worry that "Vitalis doesn't have long", but fuck. It seems he's still got time. I don't know for how long though...

AND WHY THE FUCK DID HE HAVE TO INCLUDE THE "what little life I have left" PART?!?! 😭
