THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

I don't believe I've ever seen characters faces drawn so poorly before. Half the time, the characters looked deformed or something. Doesn't help that the designs themselves are painfully bland and generic. Really, what were they thinking? Yuumi looks just fine in the image on the main page, though.

And Yuumi's Prince Charming is a slightly-overweight Otaku-looking guy who lives in a shabby apartment and has virtually no career prospects? Really?

This is the episode 1 thread... don't talk about Episode 3, sheesh!

Anyway, @GreatRumbler:
Not sure how this is poorly drawn... sure, it doesn't seem as high budget as some other productions at the time, but I didn't think the characters faces looked bad as I was watching it. *shrug*

I'm liking this so far. It's actually really refreshing to have a romance comedy where the relationship happens from the first episode rather than doing the normal anime thing of dragging a frustrating cat and mouse thing out. Also, partially in response to the first post, I find the fact that the male romantic lead isn't some stereotype pretty boy douche-bag, as is normally the case in these low budget shojo OVAs from this time period, refreshing as well and don't see why there should be anything wrong with that.
