Videos are a good way to go. And more pictures couldn't hurt either. I'll see if I can get some links for the VH1 series, I love the 80's, or it's two sequel 80's series.

No particularly liking the Fall 2011 anime season so im watching through Clannad a 2nd time, and Man it's even better than I remember years ago. Cried like 5 times already and its only the 7th episode!!

I do not really view it as "nostalgic" to watch old anime, it is just a distinctly different type of anime (and maybe more often than not a good difference - I think an averagely good shounen and the like was a bit less obnoxious with old animation styles and tropes). Dragon Ball and Yu Yu Hakusho and Space Adventure Cobra all share a similar, fun style! I have not watched Dirty Pair though, so I have no idea what "feel" it gives off.

A lot of it is probably just my raw hatred of "moe" in any form. Like normally a person might hate the culture of Lucky Star styled "cute" and still love the Lain styled cuteness, but definitely not me! I hope you enjoy Space Adventure Cobra.
