13 years into the 21st century, anything you'd expect to see but don't?

E.g. Flying cars, Holograms, Nerve Gear

And matter replicators.

More stuff: widespread usage of holograms, self-driving cars, nanomachines, and alternative energy.

All of that is literally around the corner.

EDIT: Maybe not holograms.

Well I did say widespread use silly. Because in the next 13 years a lot of it will either only be emerging into acceptance or maybe even still be niche tech. Hybrids have been around forever and they still aren't the majority internal combustion vehicle.

Me and my friend used to kid about that all the time when our shoes were un-tied.
'Wouldn't it be great if shoes would tie themselves when you kick?'
Then one of us would kick as if our shoes would tie if we did it.

We were very simple.

Ah, why did you ruin the fun of throwing in Back to the Future: Part II devices :(

To be fair though, that's what the technology presented in that movie showed; little effort needed in operation.

Bio-Nanobots. I want fucking nanobots in my body that make me unable to get sick.

DNA alteration. When are you gonna become superhumen already?

Cyborg. I want mechanical organs that make me immortal.

Well lots of other shit like that.

Multipurpose robot. Time for robots to do our shitty jobs. Enough with wasting 8/10 of my life trying to make money to live or keep the house clean.

Big extra-solar Spaceships.

Anyway i can only dream.

Keep dreaming. Making a flying car means nothing(i think we already had a few made) since making one and having them as a method of transportation is two different things.

KaiserNazrin said:

You wouldn't want that. Because teleportation is actually a copy device. Basically copying every cell in your body and recreating them in some other part while destroying the original. Basically you get killed every time you teleport.

For such games to be created is less about graphic ability but more about brain chemistry and biology. Such games can't be created with the way we create games now, they must be created like dreams.
That will also bring a shitstorm of questions too, because if someone is messing with your brain directly like that no one knows what he can do.

That's because hybrids are a generally idiotic premise in America due to their return on investment that is rarely worth it, and the super cheap hybrids are generally trash. Most of that tech though is already in the emerging phase though, and I seriously expect much of it to be in general use by 2025.

based on the assumption that most people on MAL are under 30 years old, that does not give alot of time for technology to vastly advance.

if u were born in the 80's or 90's and expected to have flying cars or virtual reality or half the other shit named u vastly overestimated scientific progress

Honestly, I thought we'd have some kind of laser gun at this point, nothing too high tech but something along those lines, that and wireless energy that would allow for endless use out of any device without once having to plug it in or change the battery. I mean Nicolas Tesla was working on a direct-energy weapon AND had the wireless electricity down to a T already, and he died 70 years ago!
