What idiots. Their top priority should be to protect Athena, aka Saori, and they couldn't even do that -_-

Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing all the Gold Saints. I suppose this means they will also have to fight Aries, Liba, and Leo who are considered allies? That should be interesting. Perhaps it could result in some good training, especially since Aries is up first~

Yea i don't get it. First we already know three golden saints that won't fight them and another that has no golden saint. Also Ares is a golden saint according to this episode so he can't be at his temple if his waiting at the top.
Not to mention Ares shown some golden cloths a few episodes back that had no golden saint to wear them. Did he just gave it to some saints? But would someone not strong enough to be golden saint be as powerful just because he wear a golden cloth?

I was thinking the same thing..maybe in the Aries, Libra, Leo and Gemini houses, there will be other opponents for them to face? Let's not forget how many people are loyal and dedicated to the Pope, at the moment.

And those cloths a few episodes back shown by Arles, there are definitely Saints to wear them..we just haven't seen all of the Saints yet but they are definitely in the houses. For example, we just met Shaka and his cloth, the Virgo, was one of the seven shown in the Sanctuary.

And the strength really comes from within the Saint..I don't think it has much to do with the Cloth. The Cloth merely protects the Saints body but the power is from the Saint/their cosmos.

The Andromeda attack on Shun felt a bit contrived as if to give Shun a distinct goal as quickly and quietly as possible, but I still prefer getting it rather than not. Somewhat contrived world building and some character development is better than none.

The way Aioria strides into Arles' room like a badass was great. He beats down the fodder saints and challenges Arles to his face, getting in a fight with him even. I definitely would have taken a more subtle approach than him, but his straight forward attitude is admirable. Shaka seems really cool too, with their Buddhist teachings, and closed eyes, and mindset that gold saints shouldn't fight for they should protect Athena, I imagine if he's convinced by our crew he'll switch sides.
The fight he and Aioria had was hysterical as well, I love Saint Seiya's cheesy nature to put really weirdly arbitrary yet specific descriptions on everything. The first case was when Seiya killed Shiryu and we got the whole "only the saint who punched him can revive him, and the way he does it is by punching him in the back just as hard as last time, no more no less, if done right their blood will reverse and they'll come back". Somehow this time it even surpassed that with the mma style grab and Arles and the gold saints explicitly stating that it would take 1000 days, or even more! Seriously, the fact that it's written that if two gold saints fight an 1000 day war will happen of them grabbing each others fists, and if they use special moves they'll both cease to exist is hilarious. I couldn't help but laugh multiple times.

And Shiryu is back!

I'm so happy. He's already showcased his maturity in a sense, by showcasing that he was the first to tell that the arrow attack by the fake escort was an illusion despite not being able to see it. We can see how much his senses have strengthened already.

For some final thoughts, I'm really not sure how to feel about the 12 houses structure just yet, and I found Saori's deduction that Arles might be the gold saint with two faces fascinating. Oh, yeah and the filler saints traveled with them supposedly but then vanished LOL, I guess we can see they really are filler.

So the conclusion Saori reached about Arles being the Gemini saint is probably correct but I coldn't help but wince during the deduction process, because it starts with a false observation - only good and just people can wield the gold cloths.

And we know this to be patently untrue due to Deathmask being the Cancer Saint.

Anyway, loved the episode as well as the setup for the next arc/series of battles. So excited to see our heroes run the gauntlet on a time limit.

feels like it's getting closer and closer to being canon again lol.

so what happens to the steel saints? lol. are they just never seen or heard from again? that'd be pretty hilarious tbh lool. I thought they'd all die before the canon stuff started.

So hyperbolic - 1,000 years to solve this fight?! LOL

I'm excited to see the journey across the 12 temples, and the layout reminded me of the sideview of the stages in Castlevania or Ghosts 'N' Goblins.

Saori sent a letter to their enemy saying they were coming and then gets shot in a low-effort ambush going up the first flight of stairs on the island, amazing. I'm starting to think maybe she couldn't have tanked that shot from Aeolia if Seiya had let him land it. The power and wisdom of Athena, ladies and gentlemen.
