Airi and Yoko's journey continues.

The girls found a small treasure. That canned food stash looked quite delicious.

Swimming with penguins? Sounds fun! And yes, we got the obligatory swimsuits in this episode, hehe.

Hmm, I wonder how that internet connection still works. Well, maybe we'll get an answer later.

Definitely my favorite episode out of the first three.

Didn’t expect them to play “Crossing Fields” by LiSA of all things. Even Yoshitsugu the GOAT himself made a voice cameo!
So Sword Art Online is an in-universe thing in this series, after all.

SAO IS CANON IN THIS UNIVERSE?? Did not expect to get taken back to the good old days with Crossing field and to have the legendary Matsuoka Yoshitsugu make an appearance! So it looks like our girls aren’t alone and at least one person survived the apocalypse?? Will it be a human, an AI or a robot or what? Really looking forward to next week. This one felt like a lull after the emotional gut punch that last week’s episode was. Airi and Yoko bonding and going swimming was cute though.

But there’s something so terrifying about seeing the biggest city in the world completely empty and silent, reclaimed by nature.

Airi and Yoko were really lucky to find that stash of food. Really looking forward now to next week to see if they can track down the location of the music broadcast.

It's been a while since I heard some SAO music, it was a nice surprise.
Other than that, the girls continue their fun travels and get to 'visit' some famous places.
The end was really interesting, between the 'dream' and the guy on the radio.

@Marinate1016 I know right? The first second I was like "Wait, that is really familiar!" Then it hit me. ROFLMAO Still, I think I'd take Aincrad instead of this mess the girls are in.

Out of battery and water is the worst possible situation to be in when exploring. Instant heat to purify the water huh nice. Finding that stash in the house sure was lucky. Encountering bodies of the deceased was always gonna be a possibilty. The penguins have the area to themselves lol. The ability to place yourself in the long past sure was a curious power. Ironic that the one song they picked up in this new age was Lisa's. Curious to see whether there were other survivors at the station or not.

Airi and Yoko's journey continues to be an interesting one, although it must be difficult to find food. The pair did luck out in finding a house that did have canned food which they enjoyed, but Yoko encountering a deceased person in the bedroom is a stark reminder about the world that the girls both live in now.

The trip to Tokyo Big Sight was fun to watch, not only for the girl to explore what they could of the exhibition centre, but for pair to throw in an obligatory swimsuit segment. Seeing penguins was a surprise, but seeing the pair having fun with the penguins, both above and underwear was very fun.

However, the biggest surprise of the whole episode was hearing the SAO OP song, Crossing Fields by LiSA, out of complete nowhere. It also felt fitting for the radio DJ to be voiced by Kirito himself, Yoshisugu Matsuoka. I'm hoping the girls can track down the location, which looks to be in Akiba fittingly enough, and see if the DJ is another surviving human or cyborg.

I see they got the mandatory beach episode out of the way nice and early. When they found the stash of food, I was almost expecting the owner of the house to still be alive and stumble upon them, alas t'was not to be.

Love how this show keeps such an optimistic nature around everything while hinting at whatever terrible and horrible thing happened. Wondering how much of the situation is Fallout-esque? Definitely looks like the sister did a lot to set up Youko up.

Getting the feeling that Youko is a clone and its been at least 100 years since big sis Chitose was alive.
Not sure about other folks being around unless they have been modified. But a wonderful episode keep that spirit of exploring!

Decent episode with a couple of things that stood out. First, Yoko has vivid dreams of areas as how they were when people were around including realizing that her electric bike used to contain a gasoline engine and the second thing was that a radio station was being broadcast. On that note I think that it's either AI or a bot that is playing the music but I wonder how it is both getting electricity and broadcasting sound waves after everything else stopped being maintained, interesting.

I wonder if that huge white tree will be a part of the later episodes or it's just a background thing.
Looks like survival was pretty rough for the last humans (barbed wire around the house, gunshot holes indside it).
And whatever happened in this world, probably happened everywhere and at once (crashed planes were probably still in the air when it happened).

Another wonderful ep ❀️

I always wonder how the girls are able to get their hands on food somehow even though it's only canned but still the girls hit the jackpot everytime πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Adorable Penguins, a place where bike fairs were held once, Youko's visions must be her remembering her own past experiences..and we even got a DJ who is playing songs of LISA ❀️❀️

Is he still alive !?

Coming to the animation..not that I'm complaining it's bad but could have been better 'cause this is the same studio that animated The Eminence in Shadow.

Pretty good episode exploring Setagaya Shinbashi, Ariake, Big Sight. My favorite parts were the second half of the episode with the girls taking the Yurikamome and surveying Big Sight. Some things they mentioned in the manga that were omitted from the anime for some reason was that the penguins they saw at Big Sight were Humboldt penguins and unlike penguins in the South Pole they are native to warm climates and are resilient in heat.

Japan also has about a third of the word's captive penguin population so it appears they are now roaming the Earth after the apocalypse. Yuko also says the penguins are same as the one in her hairpin plus they changed Yuko's dream at Bigh Sight for some reason. In the manga she watches a motorcyclist start the Serow 225 motorcycle and in the anime she starts it and her sister also doesn't appear in her dream. Interesting little edits and omissions from the manga but I'm really enjoying the anime thus far and I'm curious to see how they adapt the upcoming source material.

So far, I’m actually liking this. I’m getting some serious Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou vibes. Obviously, Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou was better, but I’ll take what I can get. Also, it's shaping up to be a lot bleaker. Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou didn’t have the balls to show a corpse, plus the blue-haired girl threw me for a loop when she first unleashed her arm cannon. Really interested to find out her deal. I guess she’s some kind of cyborg.

i don't read the manga but did the mc actual identity is the sister or her sister implant her own memory on mc, cause this is the first time she ride there right? but she act likes having nostalgic view tracing her own memory after visiting place that she already experience before (dont spoiler just say yes/no)

She's an android, because cyborgs while having partially robotic machine parts are still considered human at their core, which is why the cyborg they met in the previous episode was referred to by Youko as the first human she encountered, which wouldn't make sense if her traveling companion, Airi (the android girl), was also a cyborg (and therefore human).

@Ai_den No answer to that in the manga for now, though the sister and the two protagonists' life in the shelter remain mysterious.

I know it isn't an original concept or anything but for me, this is still the standout of a season that really isn't doing it for me

Didn't get gutpunched this episode so I'm expecting next episode to be a doozy.

The penguins were nice.
