Madhouse making a season 2 of their hit anime glitched the world. I miss the days when we got constants chapters. That said they finally revealed the cause, it's health issues after all. Looks like this might go bi weekly or monthly after break as well. I just hope author is fine and can continue.

What health issues, the author and writer combo are most likely working and/or assisting on projects related to Frieren but unrelated to the comic itself (more anime to come, spin-offs like the novel recently released etc.).

Putting on hold a series multiple times for health issues always comes with a notice from the magazine/publication and for Frieren this has never been the case.
We know that at least one of the them (the artist) worked directly on the TV anime by providing artwork so I'll say it's safe to assume that the other one also worked on the project.
Considering that the TV anime is filled with miniscule details and extended scenes I'd say that the author was directly and extensively consulted by the anime staff for a longer period of time and was consequently involed in the production of the project.
Now add to this the incredible success of the TV anime and Shogakukan prossibly preparing an onslaught of new Frieren media and the sense that I'm getting is that the continuation of the main comic is slowing (halting) down again because the duo is needed to work and give their seal of approval on other Frieren projects ithat right now are in the oven.

No, taking just a few short breaks wouldn't make sense for the kind situation that I'm speculating is happening behind the scenes.
What I'm saying is that it's highly possible that that last year Frieren only appeared in 19 issues of Shonen Sunday precisely because the creative minds behind it were also involved in the creation of the anime adaptation and so had less time to work on the comic itself, and I think the same thing might be happening again now that Frieren has multiple unannounced projects in the pipeline.
Well now you have your official confirmation. They are gonna adjust the publication schedule as well so it's serious.

@MegamiRem
The link you posted doesn't provide any source and I can't find any actual official statements from Shogakukan, the Sunday editorial department or whatever other site.

I'm confused, is this supposed to be a leak from the next Weekly Sunday issue that comes in four days or what? Smells fishy, or should I say baity?

Alright, Ryokutya2089 confirmed it's from the next issue of Sunday.

I've no idea how this stuff can leak so damn early but it seems to be true.

Looks like another hunter x hunter/One Piece case is starting to happen. Age can catch up to high stress jobs like that quick.

@Avvenirista furage a japan word refers to the practice of getting or buying a product, usually a cd, dvd, or other media, before its official release date its usually the source of leaks

@rohan121 one piece is not in the same bracket as hxh and frieren because it's never gone on indefinite hiatus. took a month break a few years ago but we knew when it would return, and that was for oda's eye surgery. otherwise it's just 1-2 week breaks like every other author.

You don't have to explain me that, what I'd like know is how stuff like this can leak so early (four days in advance is crazy), no just a mere couple days before the issue goes on sale.

@Avvenirista did you even read the whole explanation of furage? specifically this part "before its official release date"

Did you read what I wrote? What I always found crazy is that this stuff somehow gets leaked before the magazines are even ready for shipping, or in other words immediately after being pressed.

Yeah, by now I'm aware that you're following me.

Both of them are furage but stuff from magazines that gets leaked one or two days before the official release, specifically during the shipping/retail storing of the magazines, is one thing and nothing out of the ordinary, but stuff from magazines that gets leaked right after it's hot of the press is a whole another matter of craziness.
