Do your favorite anime have any potential to be a live action series or would it just be 100% cringe?

most anime have absolutely 0 hope in being good as adaptations. Both be faithful to the source material but on the other hand they must avoid being totally cringe by incorporating the anime without looking ridiculous

Many slice of life shows genuinely could be entertaining in live action. especially grounded ones. The Anohana K-Drama i dare say was good.

But a yugioh? A yugi haircut would look completely ridiculous.
My waifu is the most wonderful waifu. Mai Valentine.

We're freaking out that we're running out of time, but to do what? Should i stop and think of that? Is there something i could do to slow it down? Live in a day for once, instead of watch it sprinting by

Given that Queen's Blade is largely inspired from classic 80's high fantasy movies like Conan the Barbarian and Red Sonja, i think it could work well in Live Action since that formula was already done many times on film and it works decently well without any anime cringe or silliness as pure bikini armor fantasy.

There's only one anime turned into live action case where the live action trumps the anime all the way, and that is The Cutie Honey Live Action. Because the 70's Cutie Honey anime by Go Nagai is like the worst piece of animated media ever produced (understandably, pornographers whose only interest is in jerking themselves without making other people jerk in the process like Go Nagai are not particularly good). Also, the main writer of that show is the greatest tokusatsu writer of all times, and that being a tokusatsu show fits. Other than that, the rest sucks ass. It's the reason why I'm purposedly avoiding almost certain crap like the Wingman toku, it makes no sense to waste my time in that.

Jojo has had some live action content actually. There was the Diamond is Unbreakable movie directed by Takashi Miike, and the live action Rohan drama series. The DiU movie has mixed reception from what I heard, and it never got the sequel it was supposed to get, leaving it an incomplete adaptation that is more just a thing to check out for curiosity's sake more than anything.

The live action Rohan series I have heard much better things about as it's a pretty faithful adaptation of the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan spinoff series, with a few reimagined bits of Part 4 being thrown in there as well with the Rock Paper Scissors Kid, Cheap Trick, and Let's Go Eat Italian Food arcs being retold. So far there has been 9 episodes and 2 movies and I have heard a lot of good things about the live action Rohan series. They even expanded a lot on the actual content from the original one shots to help fill the hour long runtime, so even if you've seen the OVAs or read the manga there's still something to be gained from watching it. They even decided to expand on Izumi from the Millionaire Village one-shot by making her a recurring character so Rohan has someone to play off of. The one weird thing though is they seem rather adverse to using the word "Stand" in the live action, and aren't showing any of the other main characters from part 4, which leads to Izumi taking Okuyasu's place in the Lets Go Eat Italian food adaptation for example. It genuinely looks pretty interesting, want to try and find a way to get my hands on it (preferably legally as I like to support Jojo stuff)

@dibindibi yeah, I've seen the "manga", the 1998 anime. A relic of the past worth only because Toshiki Inoue wrote it and because Megumi Ogata voiced the protagonist (there's also Kaneto Shiozawa in there, but he lasts a few minutes only), and because Jounichi is not the boring idiot they make him in Duel Monsters (which is linked to the personal experience of Inoue, not the manga anyway). For the rest, even with me not particularly liking Duel Monsters (mostly for the shitty treatment of my main waifu Mai Kujaku, the greatest animated waifu ever concieved period and Venus reborn), it's not worth it PRECISELY because it sticks too much to a shitty manga that is the equivalent of the first Thor issues by Larry Lieber, A.K.A. stuff made up by a person who didn't know what he was doing. Not one bit.

Sore ga Seiyuu is easy to get under budget, and they can reorganize it as they see fit, change the VAs represented. They might even be able to do localized versions in each country and get by. It is the sleeping world serial like CSI/Yo soy Betty la fea were.
Chihayafuru, Gran Blue and Gintama managed it in movies. And only gintama did it by fully embracing the cringe.

I can see ygo work, if it is an anime about a fan of the game/anime, like what they did with Final Fantasy XIV dad of light, or it is a spin off in the world like Detective Pikachu did. I think the problem is more on the "Let's bet our souls" and "I use Pot of greed" for ygo.

I'm a huge fan of Cardcaptor Sakura, something tells me it would be a lot of CGI that wouldn't end up looking right. XD

@Retro8bit you might want to check out Kamen Rider Gotchard, it has some Cardcaptor Sakura feels to it. Just be advised that the first half by Keiichi Hasegawa sucks ass.

Well one is based on a book so it already has several live actions (treasure island), one has a few I think (Lupin lll), and the other one doesn’t (future boy Conan), but honestly it would suck

Live action Mushoku Tensei probably won't become a thing, unless the upper staff hires inauthentically old actresses.

I will definitely check it out! I've always been a big Kamen Rider fan and I don't think I've ever seen that particular incarnation. Sounds interesting though! :O

"Do your favorite anime have any potential to be a live action series or would it just be 100% cringe?"

Depends on the approach. It's not given that it should be a 100% adaptation with all the exaggerations and stuff.
My main issues with live action adaptations are the low production values and the inability of the writers to grasp the core appeal of the manga/anime source.

@Retro8bit I watched it during new year's eve because of the person that is currently writing as the main writer the Sentai they're currently producing, Akiko Inoue, the daughter of my favourite Toku writer ever. I liked it but the season they made before that (Geats) is far better than Gotchard IMHO. Also, because of the experience I had with the first mediocre half by Hasegawa in Gotchard AND the absolute turds he wrote for Gozyuger, I'm dropping the guy hard. I was thinking yesterday which Urutoraman season might have watched (the last time I gave the IP a spin was with the mediocre Mebius months ago) and I decided to avoid Ginga and Ginga S because the guy was their main writer. I think I'll go with Taiga next.

Possibly Monster? It's already very grounded story with no fantasy elements, and I believe I heard Guillermo del Toro expressed interest in directing a hypothetical adaptation. However, unless they want the entire show script to be in German for the sake of linguistic authenticity, they would probably move the setting to the USA; not sure how I would feel about "John Liebert"...
Some of you never watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers on TeleToon in 2008 and it shows.

I prefer anime but... The only two I can think might make (possibly) interesting adaptations with real people would be Fate/Zero, and Magnificent Kotobuki actually would be a neat aviator movie. I would NOT trust Hollywood with any of it, if it was made by the French or Italians possibly... let the French write and direct it and the Italians design all the outfits (costumes) and settings and a Fate/Zero live might be really good.

I've heard rumors of Naruto getting the live action treatment. But I haven't heard any news about it in a while. It'll probably never happen. But it's probably for the best. A project like that would require some TLC from someone who knows anime and won't Americanize/ whitewash it. It would also require a pretty big budget so the jutsus don't look like crap.

Some definitely do, others...no, I don't think so. Anything with supernatural powers, alien environments, or technology that doesn't exist yet, etc. is going to require the right budget and talent and thus be easy to mess up.

Maybe, though Takagi-san (I get it works in live action) to me was a bit more of a 'we want to fit it in-between or find some weird way to prior moments of the series and maybe hint at the Moto era stuff while also having a sub plot about others. It felt very safe and we need to keep using these characters, but also introduce it to a live action viewing audience but also fit it between the events of the main/moto series and to try and sell it to people even more. It was the most what is going on film I had to make notes constantly and will use those notes in my Takagi-san anime movie review to offer 2 reviews.

But that aside yes some slice of life, romcoms, dramas, etc. can work, more action focused or fantasy/sci-fi I get it, it can vary.

Sure acting can vary for sure with things not just backgrounds but I don't know. I'm not really that interested in live action versions of my favourites and most I watch these days are just romcoms, dramas or I guess dialogue focused or particular angle sci-fi/fantasy (of years ago, not so much anymore I still buy my older favourites when available).

But don't be a hollywood production tho please i beg you

Monster would probably be great as a life-action series, the only possible complaint from me would be Johan actor not being Johan-enough [or not blonde, that would be a war crime XD]
