I want to save the moe blob fans, poor people suffered enough looking at hideous character designs, those big eyes are the stuff of nightmares.

Some part of the BNHA fanbase because some of them have an unhealthy obsession with crack ships.

@ChouunShiryuu please kindly refrain from waking the beast inside Catalano up. The streets don't need him there.

Most evangelion fans I know IRL are just so fun and there can have very interesting discussions, sadly the fandom discourse ends in shipping wars and spreading misinformation and missing the point of the show...

@Catalano I like Rei's character, I can't care less about shipping wars (though I guess Asuka fits more?) and I think Asuka is also a great character and can't blame fans for liking her better, she's great

What anime fanbase do you wish to save?

Too late to save, if they are already basically dead at this point. lol

The "Burn Up!" franchise had a good run with "Burn-Up W: On the Case & In your Face" and "Burn Up Excess"... Then they tried hard to reboot this franchise in the mid 2000s with "Burn Up Scramble". "Burn Up Scramble" wasn't exactly horrible, but it wasn't really that great either... Wasn't long after that people just forgot the "Burn up" franchise... Even in the mid 2010s only have ever met one person in real life who actually watched it back in the day... Fast forward to 2025, it's only seen as shitty old Ecchi trash by a majority of modern Fans... and most of the people who liked the series back in the day, over half of them likely don't even consume Anime anymore. lol

Sure, some new fans like "Desert Punk", but not enough to hunt down the shit to own it on physical discs... Not sure how i would even feel if suddenly shit like this was to make a come back... Where modern production methods take over half the charm away from anything classic... same reason why I dropped shit like "Urusei Yatsura (2022)" and "Trigun Stampede", and didn't even bother watching a single episode of "Ranma ½ (2024)". lol

The "Agent AIKa" franchise basically killed the fandom itself when trying to make a reboot with half-ass prequals... talking about "AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission" and "AIKa Zero". Not only did these releases break it's own lore... but when an Anime looks like it spent most of their budget on just the details of the characters panties, it's main purpose was simply to appeal to fans with the mentality of a hormone driven horny teenage brat... Sure "Agent Aika" might have drew in new fans with these half-assed releases... but at the same time it practically lost over half of the original fandom that loved the OG 90s OVA in the process... lol

@ColourWheel AIC killed Burn Up franchize with that shitty unwatchable remake.

Aika was always panties first, I don't understand your complains, the action stuff from the original was decent but not amazing and even so, the "sequels" never got to the level of panchira goodness that the original had. I agree they suck though.

Sure, "Agent AIka" might have been “panties first” to some fans, but most of the complaints I remember back in the day were about how generic the newer characters looked. It felt like Studio Fantasia just crossbred the most generic looking characters from "Najica Blitz Tactics" and "Stratos 4" to make the fucking cast for "AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission" and "AIKa Zero". lol

Hardcore fans like me also noticed the lore getting tossed out the window. And you have to consider the timing... by then, most of the original "AIka" fanbase were in their mid 30s. A lot of older otaku were already leaving the medium behind... My father, for example, was a huge old-school anime Otaku who basically stopped by the late 90s (even before he went legally blind). He even gave me all the shit he had collected up to that point in his life. Which to this day have it preserved and stored in air tight cases in a magnetically sealed storage unit downtown (Some of the shit he has collected over the years is extremely valuable and I occasionally sell off to extreme collectors willing to pay thousands for the shit).

And here’s the kicker... Guys in their 30s back then, even in Japan, weren’t sticking around just to watch endless animated panty shots of fictional teenage brats. They wanted a continuation with substance plus the over-the-top obnoxious panty fanservice. Instead, "R-16" and "Zero" leaned so heavily on the teenage brat panty covered coochi that it crossed into awkward territory for them... like, “Am I really supposed to get excited over five copy-paste teenage characters flashing panties every two minutes?” At best it was occasionally funny, but it was nowhere near "sexy", "memorable", or even worthy of the original OVA that I fell in love with back in the late 90s. To this day still have my Japanese imported VHS copy of the 1st two episodes of "Agent Aika"... I have basically vacuumed sealed it and tossed it in with the shit I have stored with my fathers old school Otaku collection downtown. lol
