For those that does not know, eurovision is an song competition based in europe when every country record their song that represents them and then doing concert live. That then everyone including Jury votes what song they liked the most and when the country won eurovision, next year they will be hosting event.

My favorite are:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vlu5XXDwHos Lucio Corsi - Volevo Essere Un Duro (italy)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TMc6HzimQo Zoë Më - Voyage (Switzerland)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQXhvclWuPE Justyna Steczkowska - GAJA (poland)

I'm part of the "eurovision sucks" gang, ngl. I think France keeps sending the shittiest artists, hoping to lose and not have to host it...

Everything was completely terrible and it baffles me they let any single one of them on an actual stage.

Seems this thread isn't very popular with the userbase, so I should keep quiet.

Um, uh, I mean, obviously:

I love her and everything she does, gorgeous woman, beautiful voice. She's candid about being a 152 year old witch pretending to be a hundred years younger, too.

Increasingly popular (and not wrong) opinion but I don't take it seriously. It's fun if you have drinks, food and friends with you — I grew up with several British friends, you know, the mistakes of youth and all that. You wouldn't get (responsibly) drunk and watch Eurovision with others and myself while I pat Zarutaku and assure him he's not going to die of second-hand cringe?

Another hero? Oh, please!

@CC what made me impressed about her song is how amazing her breath control is. She was doing her impressive vocals while running, playing violin, flying, dancing.

It always impress me what human voice is capable of.

@CC I've watched it once in my life, last year, drunk with friends, because one of us wanted to watch it. When it was UK's turn, we laughed to tears and accurately predicted they would get no points at all from eastern europe lmao.

Can I pat Zarutaku too?

Also, dear lord, my ears and that corset are begging for mercy ;_;

Completely agreed, I feel like she must have crazy core strength. It might sound silly to say but even the fact that she maintains a steady voice while spinning and actively vocalising is so impressive, it's not easy! Very good vocal projection, and she uses the mantra chanting and her "witch voice" to allow herself to move more aggressively at times.

You're Polish, yourself? Lucky to have such a fun and technically impressive entry, and also a dragon. Love a good dragon!

Since you're a cute girl, absolutely! He would love being pat by two cuties on either side.

Same here. Eurovision is just Europe's equivalent to the Superbowl, dumb pop-culture trash for normies.

@CC If you like polish songs I recommend Kwiat Jabłoni - "Dziś późno pójdę spać" (Today I will go sleep late) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWDXwrgdm9w and Czesław Niemen-Sen o Warszawie (Dream about Warsaw) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePNUSmH3dMI

They are great.

@jacobPOL Thank you for the recommendations! I'll check them out. This one reminds me a lot of Ukrainian folk music.

Yeah I mostly don't care about it and I agree with it beign mostly trash. But sometimes I like to listen some Finnish nominees (cuz Im finnish) and some actually good songs. Personally my problem with eurovision is the "voting", the political things, countries give points for their neighbours and people vote because of the country and not the song.

I knew someone was going to say "Ich komme" but I think Viivi's Aina was better from Finland.
My other favorite was Icelands Róa.
I also think it's + that people sing in their nations language and make songs for the people not the jury and don't care if they get 0 points.

Oh that was just the comedy answer, the post you're replying to is just me being silly with Deathko as I originally posted:

I didn't hear Aina but it's very pretty! It's possible they didn't think it would stand against other contemporary entries. It is a bit unfortunate as a music competition that things like that have to be taken into consideration and I do wish less entries were in English, also.

But I think calling it "dumb trash for normies" is taking something that is meant to be fun a little too seriously, like the "no fun" police have arrived. I thought I was supposed to be the "no fun" police! I don't like American football, but I would just scroll past a Superbowl thread.

Eurovision? Who is that, my Irish cousin? 😅

"Have we not eaten while another starved? Will you punish us for that? Will you reward us for the virtue of starving while others ate? No man earns punishment, no man earns reward. Free your mind of the idea of deserving, the idea of earning, and you will begin to be able to think.”
