Damn, the moves Aoi pulled...scary.

This episode is much more about Sumire though. Her character story and role in this arc seems to have a much deeper role than it looks. Nene also got dragged into a complicated problem again. Can't say I'm surprised that trouble caught up to her but is saved again. She's just a magnet for trouble.

Lerche seen all the complaints about the production quality and locked tf in this episode oh my goodness if only it looked like this all the time. The Hananene moments were so fucking good especially the ending and the much anticipated Sumire is finally here!!

Sumire and Nene are so best friend coded. The way they can both bond over being in love with spirits is so cute. Also loved how Sumire plays around with Hanako and teases him 😂

The way Hanako didn’t wanna let Nene out of his sight and acts like an overprotective bf is so freaking adorable I love them sm. Him coming to her aid when she called for him at the end of the episode was one of the cutest scenes in the series thus far. He pulls her so tightly too.. ugh I love it!

The Aoi and Akane post credits scene omg?? Next episode is going to be crazy

Okay, this episode was really good. The Nene witnessing Sumire's memories scene was really well done, so was the hananene and aoikane scenes that followed.

One thing I MUST say however is that they made a mistake with the color on Sumire's seal! The anime portrayed it as a black seal with white text, but the manga specifically portrays it as a black seal with red text.

Add cucumber! (Now I'm wondering what they're cooking)

Nene is not an Akane girl, and Hanako being like "Hell no. If she's going to marry someone, it has to be Gon!" was awesome

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

They did a good job making Sumire mysterious here, I was going back and forth on her quite a bit, like she seemed genuine when asking Nene to wait a day, as well as when she talked about marrying No. 6, but at the same time I was still sus of her, they had me for a bit when she traded places with Nene and showed Hanako (or should I say Gon) passed out, knife in Sumire’s hand, I mean it doesn’t get more red handed than that lol. But it still lingered in the back of my mind that she had a plan, mainly because of the bracelet of bells that was supposed to protect Nene, and indeed they did, that was nice to see along with Hanako’s badass entrance, that’s as knight in shining armor as it gets, a shame it cut us off there but it was a good cliffhanger.

And Sumire’s backstory with No. 6 is an interesting one, I can’t say I care a lot about Sumire yet but I like what they set up there, so I’m wondering if this means these exact events happened in the past, like the villagers sacrificed Sumire and now she’s a ghost, but because she’s the Yorishiro maybe she’s being forced to relive this event over and over, and using Nene is how she finally broke out of it, that’s my theory anyway lol. Also, Sumire is part of the Akane family? Maybe there’s a reason Sumire reminded Nene of Aoi, I’m thinking maybe Aoi is a descendant of her’s or something.

And speaking of Aoi, I’m glad we got to see where her and Akane ended up, the location they landed in is beautiful but our boy isn’t doing so hot, thankfully it seems like Aoi is gonna stick with him, I’m excited to see what goes down with these two next week.

Nene was surprised "a human yorishiro?"
but hasnt she realized yet thats Tsukasa is the same for Hanako? She recognized the seal on her neck but not the one Tsukasa is ALWAYS wearing right IN FRONT of his face?
she sounded so surprised, i dont remember if she alr talked about it on earlier seasons can someone enlighten me?

I had imagined that the god was Number Six, but it seems he was in a contract with a human master or something in the past?

Next time, maybe we'll see why Aoi doesn't outwardly reciprocate Akane

@Alex_the_reaper Nene, up until now, was accustomed to the idea that all Yorishiros are objects. If you'll ask her what she thinks Hanako's Yorishiro is, she'll likely be able to quickly connect the dots, but it just never occurred to her that Yorishiros can be people.

My first thought after seeing Akane trick Yashiro is to wonder who of our gullible protagonists is easier for the evil spirits to trick: Nene or Dandadan's Jiji.

On the one hand, Jiji might have the better claim since he was tricked by an ugly weirdo that can't even talk, while Nene was tricked by an ancestor of someone she's known for years and trusts that also looks kind of like her.

On the other hand, I feel like Nene is gullible enough to be tricked even by someone she doesn't have that trust connection to. And also, she's only a few hours past having been tricked by that very same friend, so she should be even more on guard.

Either way, it's reasonable to say they're both at the very top of the gullibility rankings.

Okok, then this probably will act as the first time so she realizes it later on i supose. I was just weirded out how she was so quick to judge the situation "this girl has one of those yorishiro seals she must be the yorishiro" as soon as she saw it but never even questioned the one that goes around the school causing chaos and that already came face to face with her a couple of times. (like Tsukasa's seal is not on the back, neck, leg, arm, its right in his face you cant miss it Nene XD)

HanaNene won Again ❤️
I loved how Hanako insisted on watching Nene and protecting her ❤️
Hanako saving Nene was the best scene in this part so far 🥰
Btw they actually listened to the fans complaints and made a really good episode this week

@Zudoba I would think the current Number Six is a shinigami (reaper). Not sure if there exists of other shinigami in this story realm.

Sumire instantly understood Nene and Hanako's relationship ahaha. The wedding part was scary, Nene can always count on Hanako to come and save her though, that was a sweet ending

Oh God, since day one Yashiro was always such an annoyance!

At all times she needs to be the center of the sh!t storm that falls down not just on Hanako, but on everyone around her.

I really don't understand how on Earth she still has any friends! Better yet, how is anyone from her school still talking to her?! Crazy idea here people. Let's all just ignore this major brainless train wreck and the Universe will sort things out by itself.

Hanako, my dude, I know you are Casper and from another era and all, so you didn't have any type of love life but my man, please, pretty please just forget brainless Daikon girl and move on. Find someone better, much better. You deserve it

The only good part of this episode was "Gon" to be treated as a little child lol

This season is gonna cover all of the Sacrifice of the Grim Reaper arc and part of the Red House arc which are easily two of the best arcs in the entire story.
And for what you said; lol, this arc is far from over. You're the first person I'm seeing that said they don't like this arc when it's been epic back to back.
Anyways, the events leading up to the conclusion of the arc and the conclusion of the arc itself should change your mind. Just be prepared emotionally (that's if THAT isn't censored).

I think this episode was very well done! The creative direction was fantastic and I am in love with the coloring in this episode. My favorite part had to be the scene where Yashiro was getting pulled away towards the cliff and seeing memories of young Sumire. I thought the gold line art was fantastic.

Judging by other comments, I'm not the only one who noticed an improvement on the animation for this episode.

I really enjoyed watching it, but again I'm a bit disappointed that we keep loosing some of the depth of the story in the adaptation.

@Kreikka95 Really? I'm a huge fan of the manga and I thought this was very loyal to chapters adapted.

@Iamthewalrus8002 I think they might mean that it doesn't evoke the same feelings & atmosphere as in the manga. Though I do think that this episode was closer to the source, so...
