Even with the starting lineup announcement, this episode felt a lot more about Ruriko than baseball lol

Still fun stuff imo. She's carrying this anime with her personality and leadership (well as a poster girl). I do wonder if this anime will get more serious about the baseball games themselves but for now, the eyes are on Ruriko again.

Full Ruriko focus this week! Let’s go!

The first segment with she and the announcer had me dying. Completely lost it when she locked the other announcers out of the booth because she was in aw of the main lady 😂 I love how the ballpark has become a legit matchmaking service at this point. Ken from the Motorsuns and the announcer would be such a good ship, albeit a conflict of interest lol.

You’ve got mail! After seeing how nasty some of the people in the stadium can be, it was so sweet seeing Ruriko get all those nice and encouraging letters from attendees. If anyone deserves it, it’s her. I thought it was just gonna be Murata writing em, turns out it’s everyone Ruriko’s touched! Speaking of Murata, hopefully Ruriko lets him out the dog house soon lol

My boy Dennis is still balling out in Japan thanks to having a crush on Ruriko I see lol love that for him. Great ep!

Lots of relationships and potential relationships her. Wonder if there will be a triangle with salaryman Kautarou, Ruriko, and fired chicken girl Natsuna.

Roriko’s tears were beautiful! What a wonderful episode! If they’re thanking the baseball field, then I’m thanking this anime.

I loved the theme of expressing your feelings—**you should always tell the people you love that you appreciate them!**
So to whoever is reading this comment right now… thank you! Hahaha.

The first segment of the episode, with the announcer doing the starting lineup and teasing Nakogiriyama, was hilarious. She almost made a mess of it when she froze up, not knowing what to say. But when she finally started speaking, it felt more like a confession than an announcement.

The second segment was the best—our Ruriko finally got letters of appreciation for everything she does. For a moment, it felt more like a detective show than a sports anime. The scenes with Ruriko and Koutarou were a blast, especially when she was suddenly behind him, interrogating him. Her saying "I love Ruriko" and that mischievous smile when she asked his age—realizing that he was one of the person who wrote those letters for her.

It was funny seeing Natsuno fawning over her prince charming, Koutarou—and seriously, isn’t giving him more fried chicken than the others kinda unfair? And Kojirou talking about his wife watching him on TV... the guy doesn’t even know she’s watching him live, crying tears of joy.

Ruriko is, as always, best girl of the season. I love this show. It is a simple show without any real conflict, but it always makes me smile for some reason.

This show has such mundane and simple storylines... but somehow relatable and cute. "Goddess of Baseball" made me crack up again.

I keep getting surprised that this kind of story got an anime adaptation. I feel like I have to support this in principle.

This series has got couples popping up all over the place. This newest ship between the announcer and the guy with the six-syllable name seems pretty cute.
Second half... My money was on the letters being sent by the Instagram pervs, but it turns out everyone appreciates Ruriko.

I never comment on any of these discussion posts. I usually just like reading them, but this show is so underrated. Legit every episode has made me smile and I just love everything about it. If they keep going, this might be my favorite anime of the season. It’s so good!

Seeing Nat-chan giving her best to charm her blue prince is so sweet makes me want to root for her, and since I'm all in rooting for sinking ships she has all my support.

Well, it's pretty obvious that after five years of making jokes about the same person, it's normal to run out of material, and besides, if you keep thinking about that person, you'll end up catching their feelings. The announcer had no more jokes left because she was already in love and had to confess it. But Nokogiriyama? Come on, man. Why say “nothing”? Ask her out already... Marry her, at least!

The segment with Ruriko looking for the person who wrote the letters was hilarious, and it was super sweet to see all her customers praising her for who she is.

I should've worked out that the "I Love You, Ruriko" message in the bad handwriting was the little girl's. That one's on me.

Honestly I’m surprised it took the announcer, Nagisa, this long to run out of material to tease Nokogiriyama with lol, I had a feeling she was into him too with how she singled him out to tease every night, and that came into play when she had to think of something on the spot while Ruriko protected her, it ended up being a really sweet situation despite Nagisa’s blunder, I hope she gets together with Nokogiriyama eventually.

And Ruriko’s sleuthing in the second half was a lot of fun, the reveal that it was everyone she regularly serves that wrote those kind messages to her was really wholesome, in just four episodes Ruriko has already built quite the nice relationships with folks at the ballpark. And of course this included some good moments with Murata, the personal thank you from Ruriko to him was very sweet, wasn’t expecting so much heartwarming goodness from a baseball anime but I’m loving it.

This series gets better and better the more and more familiar you get with the characters and behind the scenes inner workings of the baseball stadium. I've said previously that I certainly wouldn't mind and in fact would welcome and like to see an anime of this style done for every sport they could manage (some which are played solo or in small teams of twos and in some cases don't have as many large dedicated spaces to them may be more difficult to conceptualize, but still) and that remains true. But it's also something, even apart from sports and their stadiums, I wouldn't mind seeing for a range of other professions and businesses as well.

The way they tell this story, for example, with a large ensemble cast and showing how even the smallest or most obscure, non-sought after, non-glamorized jobs matter and the people behind them, the same approach could be applied to a large restaurant, a hospital, and so on.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I found it humorous how the narrator basically called Ruriko an idiot this episode.

I liked that the 2nd and 3rd mini episodes were a continuation of each other as it gave both more time to develop the mystery of the letters and also figure out who wrote them. I thought it was going to be a new character that was going to be introduced but instead it ended up being the side characters (and male MC) that have been introduced so far. On that note it was wholesome seeing Ruriko clutching the "laundered" letters at the end.

AWWW THIS IS THE MOST WHOLESOME EPISODE SO FAR! 🥹
The announcer Nagisa basically confesses her love for Nokogiriyama to the whole stadium and it seems like he doesn't mind it. I hope we get to see them got together in future episodes!
As for Ruriko's story, it's so heartwarming to see her 10 main regulars so far each wrote a kind message for her. The feeling of having people around you appreciate what you're doing is just priceless man! And what's even more priceless is Ruriko's reaction to those messages 🥹

The announcer was so adorable. Just get married to Nokogiriyama already.

Ruriko getting appreciated by all her regulars was very wholesome.

This show is just plain and fun, and understands sports way better than most popular sports anime.

Great appreciations for our wonderful Ruriko.
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

This was a Funny episode Per Usual:

Story 1: Soul Announcer
Bruh the Announcer announcing Nokogiriyama is like Justin Roberts announcing Kenny Omega in AEW for you wrasslin watchers because everytime he announced him he always glazes him a bit like always announcing “NOOORTH CAROLINA” with him it’s Funny. I also knew she was gonna be out of Material, poor Nagisa. I’m Glad Ruriko is a Good Friend just as much as a good vendor too. Such an Emotional support fren😄. Nokogiriyama do get all the ladies falling for him even Ruriko and Nagisa too.

Story 2: Suggestion box Incident Part 1
I can Tell Ruriko was definitely Flustered from those ten pages.

Story 2: Suggestion box Incident part 2
Continuing from story 2 So the actual Culprit was Everyone?! That had to be super hilarious because she was right just didn’t think it was everyone. How freakin Wholesome from them to her, super cute.❤️ and Back to her teasing Ai Farouz style as well😂😂😂 and I think the Salaryman definitely fell for her teasing with that heartbeat.

The Chiba MotorSuns's ballpark announcer of Sato Nagisa always trolling at the MotorSuns' athlete of Ken Norogiriyama believing in her announcements for 5 years and ongoing, she suspects that she's slowly falling in love with him, which while Ruriko gets first dibs of her announcements live, the audience always treats it like a tradition of the never-ending teases to laugh at. Only this time, Nagisa speaks from the bottom of her heart being almost a hot mic disaster, and the aforementioned athlete himself takes stride in delivering his usual performance. Love at first sight? Maybe...

The untouched Suggestion Boxes that the staff take a moment to surmise, only to find a 10-page story about Ruriko and her good exploits that comes anonymously, finding out who that person might be is critical, at least for the one that gets the compliments. And the people that Ruriko tries to round down to, it seems like a lofty investigation, but her manager having found out who wrote the letters, with the help of Officer Takimoto, uncovers the usual group of fans all writing all sorts of things about Ruriko and her service towards them.

Ruriko having more fans is great, though Murata may not be the only one enjoying all of the action.

Awwww this was such a great episode for Ruriko bro I loved the focus we got for her in this episode, her crying bc she had 10 fans was so cute and her laughing at the end with the letters in her hand was also cute as hell, Ruriko gotta be the best girl in this entire show man🥹🥹🥹🥹

The announcer girl really shot her shot on the microphone I’m actually crying man, but I don’t blame her bc she was saying jokes for 5 years like atp anyone would be bound to run out of material so she shouldn’t be too hard on herself

Guys I legit can’t stop staring at Ruriko’s legs bro, those black thigh high socks are legit altering my brain chemistry like her outfit is perfect on her + I love the little fanservice shots we get of Ruriko from time to time of her chest like when she walked into the washroom, and another thing, I can’t stop staring at as well, her character designs is JUST SO FINE😭😩😩😩😩😩😩😮‍💨
