This show is being so underrated and I hate it. The emotional roller coaster I went on the last 7 minutes left man wtf.

I was so ready to justify maeda killing Kinue because of the situation with his parents shop.. but knowing she was apologetic and admitted she was young and reckless, wanted to give him a building and make sure he was straight financially.. fuck. Literally 10 more seconds and she would’ve handed Maeda the key and the letter and this would’ve been a completely different story. I felt even worse when the safe got opened and instead of money, her most prized possessions were pictures of she and her kids. Dying because you can’t express yourself properly is horrible. Never judge a book by its cover.

On a brighter note, Kaguyama continues to be funny af. Love how he fucks with Reiko and can instantly solve these cases while she’s struggling lmao. I was gonna say he should be the MC, but the cases would get solved too quickly if he was lmao

Overall not a bad case, but the intelligence level of the detectives is pretty low, not to notice that the girl is a fan of the baseball player, apparently to disappoint the butler, and how much I liked the figure of the hostess lover.

It was an interesting case with a solid conclusion, but I’d love to see Reiko and Kyouichirou step up with some power plays like Kageyama. In the end, the whole case pretty much relied on him alone to finish things.

Also, Kageyama never misses with his insults—dude’s savage! They still haven’t explained much about the main cast’s dynamics either, which I’m hoping they dig into more.

The first case I don't understand. The second case I understand but I don't care about rich family (the protagonist and her buddy's wealthiness already make me wanna puke).

It's funny how Reiko went as far as to recount even Kazamatsuri's tangent on his pitching form, and how that detail helped Kageyama come up with a crucial theory for the case.

Kid Maeda being a little barbershop gremlin was hilarious though. It was sad how those days were taken from him.

I thought it might be the driver, or the kid (even tho I think that was a stretch), mainly because I tend to think the suspect is someone less suspicious lol, not because I have any reasonable doubt about any of them, just the most unlikely ones

So, basically the driver forge the evidence to made the kid think it was the former pitcher who did it, and because she loves him, so she went through all the trouble to get rid of the bloody trophy

Not a bad case, looking forward to more cases in the future

So it was the girl... But not like you think. I think it fooled us all. That was a good one!

That butler does not hold anything back, haha! He didn't call her moron again... But he thought about it.

Moral of the story: Do not hide important stuff from others. You might get whacked with a trophy and cause a big misunderstanding.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

I honestly think this has been the best episode so far, I've liked it quite more than the other 2. While it still seems the pacing is a bit fast, it's nowhere near the pacing of the last 2 episodes.

So the one that killed the old lady was actually Maeda, the buttler! I wasn't expecting the twist that Maeda actually was the one to write the "DEATH MESSAGEU", and wrote Gorou, and since Satomi has this crush on him, and saw that scene, she did her best to hide the evidence that he was the one to do it. But I have to say, what kind of killed this episode was how fast they delivered all these twists, I think it took away from the twists themselves, if I'm making myself clear.

Anyways, the end was actually quite depressing, how Kinue actually knew Maeda, and planned to give him back his parents store, as a way to redeem herself from the mistakes she did in the past, and how she loved all her children a lot, even if she never showed it. I think the anime did a good job showing how the siblings slowly started to become depressed when they started realizing what was really happening, and how Maeda realized he made a huge mistake (well, I mean, he already knew that killing someone isn't the solution, but it's even worse knowing she actually cared for him). It's just kind of weird Kinue made Maeda work for her so long, when she was just giving him that store. Maybe she wanted him to be able to move on from the past.
Well, no store for him now, since he's going to jail.
What happened to Satomi and her father in the end? They just forgot about them.

Anyways, I feel like this case was much better than the last one, but I hope the next ones are resolved in a more "step by step" manner.
Also, I have to say the ending for this anime is REALLY underrated, it's a really good song!

I'm totally watching this until the end though. It was really enjoyable. I really don't like some of the backgrounds though, they just look so rough!

Edit: Forgot to mention, but I liked how in the end they didn't go with the "Old Rich Lady that is heartless" and made that whole scene that I mentioned earlier.

Have to agree on this! This anime isn't any masterpiece, but it's certainly enjoyable and different from other anime!

That was for sure one of the funniest moments, like, she told him EVERYTHING.

An interesting case! But I hope with future Cases Reiko at least tries to make some deductions herself before the butler cleans up shop. (The other detective is a lost cause lol)
Enjoying the show so far.

Easily the best episode of the series so far. The feels hit pretty solid after the arrest and this one had some decent comedy to boot.

Found it pretty weird how it was trying to make the old lady sympathetic. A gift years later isn't making up for getting rich off cheating his family, and the line about protecting her own family with her attitude is bizarre. Even if regret somehow tanked her company they were already set. On the actual mystery, I liked the layers of misdirection, but rest of the characters bumble until the butler spells it out in a neat package isn't all that satisfying. I want more steps to the deduction.

Whenever I think I’ve found a plot hole, I end up realizing it’s not actually one. Surprisingly, it’s a pretty well-built story.
The little girl unintentionally helped the real murderer by giving him an alibi. otherwise, he would’ve been the first suspect. It was a pretty tough case, but how in the world did the butler manage to solve it?
I’m getting more and more interested as the show progresses.

With Kinue Kodama's murder plot still reeling in mixed feelings, both Hosho and Kazamatsuri continuing their investigation into this messy family affair, and sadly, they're no closer to reaching a consensus to solving the case. But butler Kageyama may have a solution for her at the dinner table about the predicament that both are having, and other than mocking their directionless approach to finding out more about the case, he clears the air and instead, lays the culprit on Satomi instead tha she may have fabricated the entire crime scene to cover for her love for Goro.

And when the actual murder on Satomi is committed, it turned out to be servant Toshino Maeda seeking revenge against the old lady herself, but that she still honoured his family tradition by keeping his family's barber plague, despite the hatred that has harboured for years. And even her children learning that they're once kids who loved each other through a photobook, it's ultimately her downfall of being the serpent than the angel to her kids, that the murder could be avoided if she's forefront with her feelings.

A simple, compelling case, all rid by feelings and emotions of the soiled human heart.
