Episode is fine imo although pacing feels strange. The nation is in a state of war now...

The concept of magic is still very relevant in this show. Tinasha is still adapting with every situation while Valt may still have an important role this arc. Kinda felt like it's a bulidup episode too with what Oscar learns about the truth.

Ok wait I’m confused as hell. So was that our timeline from this season in which Valt became a higher up in Oscar/Tinasha court or another one? Because how tf did they go from fighting him to besties that quick lmao.

So he’s a time looper and just rolls back time whenever Miralys does from what I’m gathering. Interesting. Is Miralys cursed or is it just him trying to change fate and the world autocorrects itself every time? Either way, that death scene was brutal. Even Tinasha died in this one wow. Did Valt really just settle on killing Oscar and Tinasha as the best course of action? Wild cliffhanger to leave off on

Yeah what's going on with the English subs? Luckily I've watched it in another language, but it looks like they accidentally put the sub track for the next episode instead of the correct one. Hope they fix this mess soon.

The story's just keeps getting complicate and boring, but at the same time it's interesting. Could be the pace or the way it's being presented. I don't feel much interested in this like season 1.

But back to the topic, it looks like Valt had his reason but I still can't tell why he intends to kill Tinasha or Oscar.

I'm a little confused tbh. Feels like this season has been fairly convoluted in a lot of ways. There's plot elements that don't really go anywhere, jumps that feel completely out of place and honestly, a lot of the romantic tension is gone from Tinasha and Oscar's relationship. Plus, Tinasha is honestly way less interesting in this season than she was in the last one.

Another episode starting off with did I miss something/ skip an episode vibe. As we’re getting towards the end, the vibe of this season isn’t really where I would’ve liked it to be. Especially the relationship better Tinasha and Oscar.

I’m going to finish it up, but I do admit that this anime has been a bit of a letdown.

My first thought after starting to watch this episode was that they skipped something again, then of course it came to me that it was a memory of the alternate timeline, but it was still too unexpected to begin with, after ending the previous episode.

So Valt has actually been time looping himself this whole time? OK, that was a nice twist. Is he a villain? A tragic hero? Or just another victim in this?
And is it as usual leaving way too much out?

Horrible pacing. It’s not a complicated story, but the terrible narrative style and pacing makes it unnecessarily confusing.

Once again the anime's pacing and editing made another episode with places that felt confusing, but I think I got what was going on by the end of it.

Cool episode, I like Tinasha’s attitude towards war and saving everyone!

Tinasha and Oscar are the best together.

So Valt is doing that because of his past background...

Valt now becoming part of Tinasha's army and playing the good guy...interesting.

With things as per normal between Oscar and Tinasha, with Valt being their close confidante, as well as the patrolling stone birds, all is well. That is until Miralys gets killed by Tris, that's orchestrated by Savas the prince of Yarda, it's just a case of unknown knowledgeable that'll occur at the moment. The reality of the Iritiyisha spirit residing within Tris, that now abducts Tinasha and her soul, the thought of ever going back into time to save the girl he admired, it's only dreams and memories of the past that exist within that timeline.

To have the Mirror of Oblivion be in King Magdalsia's possession, that somehow summoned the Witch of the Forbidden Forest and Lucrezia now standing in place as the defacto leader, Oescar, compared to the last time, has absolutely no chance of stopping her dealing with the Witch...which rather than dealing with her, Tinasha going straight to Valt instead, which he initiates escape with Miralys. This basically confirms her suspicions of the powers of Eleterria, which these orbs are "outsiders' artifacts", and adding in Valt's family history of being time travellers, this matter has gone too complex to add to the current situation that Magdalsia has declared war.

At least for Travis, having Aurelia is more than enough, and Oscar finally coming face to face against Valt, this will not have a happy ending.

Had to comment this:

The first half of this episode on Valt's memory of another timeline is from a chapter of the LN that is supposed to be after Oscar and Tinasha deal with Lucrezia.

It's self-contained anyway, so I think it's a good change, and it is rare that I compliment the director of this travesty.

ETA: After reading this chapter, I've realised that Valt doesn't seem to be evil after all.

@Sheol01

Not exactly. From what I read of the novels, my impression is that the Valt of different timelines are different.

It just so happens that Valt of a certain timeline leaves behind some records of what happened, then for some reason, the Valt of the new timeline can see and read them. That's why he had to read those records so he can have the knowledge about the previous timelines.

In this particular memory, he was so affected by Myralis' death, who was his wife at that timeline, so he himself uses Eleterria, but it seems he didn't use it in other timelines.

As for your other questions, I'm still about to read the final few chapters in preparation for Episode 12. I can only speculate that they are actually allies and would seek Oscar and Tinasha's help that will stop creating new timelines.

OK OK OK...finally some lore that I can kinda understand now (yippee).
Altought the pacing does feel a tad bit rushed as we approach the end.

Eh, my eyes aren't wrong, right? Seriously, Valt is one of Farsas' mages? Is this the original timeline? I'm quite lost, haha.

@KingNotSkilled nope. It was a recollection of another timelime. It's neither season 1 nor season 2 timeline.

Yeah I was also confused until I read some of the comments here. So the first half of this episode was Valt experiencing a different timeline and the 2nd half was the present timeline in S2 (I think). Valt was also confirmed to be a Time-Reader and wants to obtain the orbs to presumably change the timeline again. I think Tinasha realized that both from notes that Valt left behind and also when Valt called her the Witch of the Azure Moon in the previous episode. Anyways, things are getting more complicated and the pace feels like its picking up even more which is unfortunate as it's going too fast as it is.

Dang I feel like I missed a whole season (that would've been worth a whole season) watching this episode. At least the story and pacing seemed decent this time.
