Put anything related to Trump in this thread so we don't have 100000000000000000000000000000000000 threads about him drinking water or eating ice cream.

All I can say is how Trump could destroy America from the inside, just like a very dumb South Korean anti-communist **cough** Yoon **cough** could destroy a generally pro-American country in Asia.

Anti-communism is much more dangerous than I initially expect. It's not a huge surprise, actually.

Trump says he plans to use "economic force" to make Canada a state
https://x.com/atrupar/status/1876681005618098312

Q: Can you assure the world that as you try to get control of areas like Greenland or Panama you are not gonna use military or economic coercion?

TRUMP: No. I can't assure you. I'm not going to commit to that. It might be that you'll have to do something.

Let's assess what America is right now in Jaunary 2025. America right now is essentially a communist country. The only thing to notice very strongly is that America is not a Leninist country.

America currently is a mix of Trotskyism (spreading [insert ideology] across the world with coercion) and Frankfurt School ideas (mix of Freudianism and Classical Marxism, hence the context of woke-ness today) united into a single monstrocity.

This is essentially what we have to deal with around the world when it come to America.

I don't get American citizens who are overtly patriotic, in which their idol of worship, America, acts more like a communist country than China and North Korea combined.

Trump just posted a video of how Netanyahu was responsible for dragging America into the Iraq War.

In the video, the man describes Netanyahu as a "deep, dark son of a bitch."

This is Trump's big picture. It's Manifest Destiny 2.0. For people who don't know, Manifest Destiny in the 19th century pretty much almost exterminated Native Americans and its related idea is the Monroe Doctrine that treats many Latin American countries as America's minions.

It's sad that even TL;DR News don't really see the full picture here and dismiss some of his statements about Canada, Panama, etc. so easily. I doubt he'll invade Canada, sure, but he'll most certainly try to engineer some plan to destabilize it even further and set it on track where it will be coerced to join or surrender control to the United States within the next decade or so. Maybe all of his expansionist goals will fail, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't try. Making such aggressive statements repeatedly while still being the president-elect is at the very least a reason for concern.

It's true that he is a threat to the EU member states.

Just like this.

But there is one thing I really like about Trump's antics. His leadership will destroy NATO from the inside, which there will be a military defense vacuum in Europe for approximately 10-14 years. Let Europe take care of Europe's own issue without the big bully America for a change.

As my French-Canadian cousin who is living in Wrocław with her Polish husband discussed with me on voice chat last week as New Year's greeting. It summarizes like this.

Poland's leaders are too incompetent and there are Russian troops right in front of the Polish border. I pray that we don't get involved in violence when the NATO-hating future president is eventually becoming the unofficial leader of NATO.

By the way, I'm serious when I say that I'm planning to bring my distant relatives in Europe to Asia if SHTF.

Edit: Oh, yeah. I forgot to express the conclusion. The EU is like that kid who suffers from the playground favorite, stop hitting yourself, during this new Trump era. Exactly how can Europeans promote democratic values around the world when they are the laughing stock in front of Donald Trump while killing their own lucrative high-tech industries at the same time due to bad policies?

Get your house in order, Europe — or face ‘ongoing decline,’ economists warn

It's 100% obvious that Trump will definitely have a field day when he takes office as most of the Continental Europe is already his easy target due to EU authorities sabotaging its own bloc's economy real time.

It's honestly hilarioius when you're not a European and witnessing the EU killing its own economic opportunities.

If I could say to soon-to-be-in-power President Donald J. Trump.

Please murder the EU's remaining economic growth at all cost all because EU's elites have extremely questionable ethics and extra questionable view of the world.

Trump's rise reminds me of this video and it's a great insight on what is happening in this post-Cold War world.

Stop trying to “save democracy”

Why it is futile to try to “save democracy”, why democracy doesn’t represent everyone, and why you don’t want to start your own political party.

Just like Bertrand Russell said in the past: a fanatical belief in democracy makes democratic institutions impossible.

It's not a selected minority of people like Trump destroys democracy. The truth is that average people destroy a certain kind of democracy. I want to emphasize a certain kind of democracy. Here's an interesting quote.

A large part of the problem imo is that liberal ideologues feel like they have a monopoly on the word "democracy".

When people like Trump rises to power, there will always be people who feel like elitists of the post-French Revolution attitude.

Border Czar Tom Homan says that the Trump administration aims to deport just under 1.5 million illegal immigrants.

There is nothing “massive” about that number, especially considering that 10 million illegals entered under Biden.

Too bad he's too stupid and childish to just adopt Pan-American like policies but would rather threaten everyone.

Also you can expect the US interfering with what goes on in other countries in terms of the internet. Trump was behind the CLOUD Act for example.

One possible scenario. Mexico's president could get Cuba to help defend Mexico against the US.

This is the current state of Trump's nominations. All of them don't understand Asia, the Arab World, and even Africa.

I think it's great that China is ignoring the future Trump government. I'm also in agreement that the current Japanese government feels very uncomfortable with the future Trump government.

Trump's presidency just literally means that "OK, we will be an isolationist country, so Asian countries will figure out their own destinies".

It tells me everything about America in general about average Americans being totally clueless about the world outside of their own country.

Japan is not all about anime and manga, as it is suffering from a very dangerous political deadlock that already harms America's interests in Asia.

South Korea is not all about K-dramas and K-pop, as it is currently experiencing a political crisis that looks very similar to the old USSR in the late 1980s and it already harms America's interests in Asia.

China is absolutely not into oppressing people (Chinese people find America's police brutality as a hallmark of cringe), as..... wait. Just look at this that is happening recently

and it's already harming America's interests in Asia.

The Philippines.... apologies in advance how I can't say anything good about this former Spanish/American colony as a Chinese/French-Canadian due to the people's obsession with America's Gilded Era social mentality.

I strongly dislike Trump but it seems I will have to eat crow given the ceasefire in Gaza, which he appeared to have influenced. One could argue it was perhaps done as a gift to Trump or that Trump’s reelection made Netanyahu comfortable enough to do so, but a ceasefire is a ceasefire. Have not familiarized myself with the terms though.

China officially welcomes Trump over Harris as Trump's foreign policy in Asia is to reduce the American presence in Taiwan. As a matter of concern, Trump already rejects William Lai's governance of the tiny island since last month.

BTW, I had a discussion about Trump with my business partner and the conclusion was simple. If anyone would believe that Kamala Harris would win last year's presidential election, you shouldn't be discussing about America in the first place. Instead, you're a liability to the American society whether you're an American citizen or not.

Russia’s Past is America’s Future

That's about right. America right now under Trump is not that different from African dictatorship of the 1970s. Using free election to choose the head of government/state who hates the concept of democracy.... what irony is this.

At least America's current state could be reasonably explained about America as a country adopting elements of Trotskyism over the past several decades.

So, America is just another communist country and it's just not Leninist per se.

What China Got Right About Big Tech

Unlike Trump, Xi understood that a new class of business titans could hijack his country’s political system.

There are many ways of viewing the Trump administration. 1 of them is to view how Elon Musk acts more dangerously than Trump.

In China at lease, the Communist Party of China managed to avoid the biggest catastrophe by simply regulating its domestic tech industry. I think America after 5-8 months will be in a bad shape not mainly because of Trump's antics, but mainly because of Elon's crazy side of things manifesting into state-level actions.

Trump To Tariff Chips Made In Taiwan, Targeting TSMC

The tariffs would ensnare cutting-edge smartphone and PC-related chips for Apple, AMD and Nvidia if enacted. But Trump is betting his plan will bring more chip production to the US.

If Trump would want to bring back chip production back to the USA, here are the ways to make it possible.

1) actually build factories very next to freshwater sources, not in the middle of Arizona
2) loosen up the regulation to make smaller and safer nuclear power plants
3) avoid building factories in tornado and hurricane allies
4) treat fabrication workers with respect and very high salary since they are often PhD degree holders
5) absolutely do not allow any state-level lobbying activities that will obviously hinder high tech industries

Other than that, Trump's general anti-Taiwan stance is quite welcoming because they want to abuse America's military power for its own political advantage.

Sounds like an exciting time at the Office of Personnel Management.

>According to the same sources, other people at the top of the new OPM food chain include two people with apparent software engineering backgrounds, whom WIRED is not naming because of their ages. One, a senior adviser to the director, is a 21-year-old whose online résumé touts his work for Palantir, the government contractor and analytics firm cofounded by billionaire Peter Thiel, who is its chair. (The former CEO of PayPal and a longtime Musk associate, Thiel is a Trump supporter who helped bankroll the 2022 Senate campaign of his protégé, Vice President JD Vance.) The other, who reports directly to Scales, graduated from high school in 2024, according to a mirrored copy of an online résumé and his high school’s student magazine; he lists jobs as a camp counselor and a bicycle mechanic among his professional experiences, as well as a summer role at Neuralink, Musk’s brain-computer interface company.

He's still pushing for a 100% tariff on BRICS nations.

And American citizens will have to pay for stuff that will become super expensive. Mexican and Canadian products in America are just a tip of the iceberg.

Here’s what will get more expensive from 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods

People need to realize that very high tariff will definitely increase the cost of living of average Americans whose country gradually gave up manufacturing since the 90s. Let's be honest here. The Trump adminstration isn't dumb, just your average American patriots who are dumb in this case.

Commerce secretary nominee accuses Korea, Japan of having 'taken advantage of' America's 'good nature'

President Donald Trump's nominee for commerce secretary accused Korea and Japan on Wednesday of having "taken advantage of" America's "good nature," stressing the need to work together with the allies to bring their production to the United States.

Yeah, good luck bringing back manufacturing back to America when there are state-level laws that are obviously hostile against manufacturing.

It's also America ditching Asia's allies, so that's not a huge problem.

South Korea and Japan should not absolutely be American colonies. Quebec should not be under America's dirty boots.

Why Should Everyone Be on Alert for Elon Musk? Explained by Yanis Varoufakis

I'm not that surprised just as I expected. Trump is the only decently sane person within his own government. It's people surrounding Trump who are the bigger problems.

Another L for the average American patriots. Kinda obvious at this point.

Trump's tariff strategy is gonna destroy this country, honestly, I'm all for it, I have enough money to leave if shit hits the fan, the 21% of the Americans that can barely read past 6th-grade reading comprehension that mostly voted for him will be the ones that are gonna suffer the most, rural America is gonna suffer too and I'm all for it they mostly voted for him, the US is doomed.

His own niece who is a psychologist said he has all the signs of narcissistic personality disorder and some for antisocial personality disorder. His nephew said Donald thinks sick and disabled people should just die to save money. Does that sound decently sane? But due to his age he likely isnt as much an issue as some other people since he will forget stuff before he us able to do it if others hold off.

Actually yes as a person who is living in South Korea and assessing South Korean politicians real time. Trump would be a normal leader in some Asian country with free elections.
