Saitama, the prota has god mode on, he cant lose, he always wins.

so how can suspense be in the story if you know it takes just 1 or 2+ punches to win....in every fight?

doenst matter if its god or the most powerful villian. Saitama comes to screen, bang, game over.

also..whats the point of having secondary characters if they cant kill the enemy as fast as saitama?

like the centipede in season 2, they couldnt beat it...but saitama comes. ...bang. bye

you answered your own question. its suspense when the other characters fight and its comedy when saitama comes to save the day.
and thats obviously the purpose of the side characters. saitama isnt always there at the right location and time

it's a character study. it's not about who's the strongest or the power of friendship, it's about a guy that's just living his life in spite of god. it's also cool as hell when he punches so hard it puts a hole in the night sky and i'm reading to find out how that gets one-upped

"One Punch Man" is a satire of shonen manga. The conflict of the series comes from our MC desperately wanting a challenge, yet being refused this, constantly. Making him depressed and questioning his life. He once wished to be strong and in a sick and twisted way, got what he always wanted. But over the course of the manga he gains many friends that help him see things differently. That, to me atleast, is what makes this manga so good.

The manga is also pretty funny, so that helps too. Not to mention, over the last few arcs the series has made great effort to establish a big cast of side characters that simply aren't as strong as Saitama, which creates tension. Saitama can't always be there to protect everyone, as seen in the MA Arc. At the end of the day, you're looking at a satire with typical shonen lenses. Which won't do you any favors in enjoying the series. It's not about power levels.

Before centipede was defeated there was an actual fight, but none of the heroes there were well, very adequate to deal with centipede, so Saitama was necessary.

You can think of Saitama like a Deus Ex Machina. He won't solve every situation, but some of them if the rest of heroes can't. So, the action is focused on the secondary characters, because you can't expect much action from a character that can solve every situation with one punch. Kinda lame for people who expect the main character to do things exciting, but we can assume it's not the case of people who enjoy the manga, like me. We don't talk about the anime after season 1, ok?

Imagine how boring this world would be without Japan - a comment at youtube

Saitama’s conflict is purely internal ever since he realized hero rankings aren’t important to him anymore, everyone else’s has external conflicts (some internal too like Darkshine)

In every battle shounen, no matter how weak the protagonist is, you know he'll win in the end and save all his friends. One Punch Man pokes fun at that by just making the protag the strongest, removing all tension(when he's on screen) and turning it into an action comedy. Or will you complain about every battle shounen out there?

you dont need suspense to have a good show, there are many ways to write a story
