Alright so Van's just fucking lost it.

To drive Van away from Zoltan, Red and the gang aim to win over Cardinal Ljubo and Lavender, Van's fairy. It was Rit who volunteered to negotiate with Lavender. Her method? Love talk! Rit explains that Lavender's nature is very different from humans but believes that they are alike in their experience of love. Meanwhile, Albert explains that Cardinal Ljubo was born a commoner and rose through the ranks relying solely on the cardinal's blessing. Thus begins the negotiating game.

Ruti claiming she's in love. Lol. Ruti and Tisse are the stars this season. Can you blame Van though? He doesn't have someone like Red guiding him like Ruti. It's pretty much what Tisse said. Why did that love plan work anyway? I don't get it, not being a girl. Rit can really hold her beer. How many cups was that? And Lavender's drinking style... lmao. Ljubo being a gambler isn't surprising. Dealing with a gambler means becoming one yourself. Yarandrala in a suit is the highlight of this season for me.

Looks like they've convinced not only Ljubo but also Esta. As for Lavender... who knows what she's planning.

Roots of the problem seem to be love and money, and while it's simpler than I thought, it's not easier to solve. Look like the fight is unavoidable after all.

If Van told Lavender to kill herself she definitely would no doubt
Imagine being that much in love with someone you would do something so stupid, tho I'm curious now to see what that bitch Lavender really looks like if her fairy form was actually just a disguise

You would think that after Ruti thrashed him effortlessly that Van would see sense. Apparently not. Far from being hero Van's more suited for being a murderer. The thought that Lavender's fairy body wasn't her actual body really surprised me. Still kinda glad that Rit and her didn't end up fighting but ended up bonding instead. Ljubo has to be the fakest priest i ever seen though. Thought gambling was against the code. Now that all the prep is done im curious to see how things turn out next week.

So they honestly aren't concerned about what happens to the world with such a hero, as long as he doesn't touch Zoltan and its citizens.

And of course these negotiations with Ljubo and Lavender won't bring any results in the end.

The love talk was cute, it seems Van's party are actually decent people (although the fairy takes it like way too far). I still hate Van though, no amount of pity party is going to make me like him. When I was young and older man told me that to be a good man you need at least to have one punch to the face. It sets you right. Van got his punch to the face but went full idiot with it.

i mean , its clear since the first season that red and rit are....quite selfish jerks who dont give a rat ass about anything besides their wholesome town life, lol , but thats relatable .

Lavender is still quite a psycho but she is a bit more tolerable now i know her motives

Lavender has yet to realise that her obsession with Van isn’t really love. When you love someone you stand up for them and tell them when they’re doing stupid shit. You don’t just blindly follow thru on everything. Like if Red turned into a psycho maniac, ritt would criticise him and try to get him back on the right path.

That said, I did like Lavendar and Roy convo at the bar and how they bonded over being two girls in love. Showed us a more human and empathetic side of Lavendar.

Seems like conflict is going to be unavoidable tho. With Van not listening to Llbujo idk who can stop em. Buddy might just have to get the breaks beat off him

At the moment I was writing that comment, I was quite sure I remembered moments when they were talking about something like 'saving the world', or if they won't stop Van, there will be more consequences. But apparently I was wrong, I even rewatched some moments to be sure. 😒

I agree on that. I would have done the same in their place😁.

Still hoping they will kill Van and his party.

I like the approach of singling out the individual members of Van’s party and trying to gain information and also plant false info in the Cardinal’s case, but the most interesting bit was with that fairy, Lavender, and supposedly she’s not actually a fairy and is something else entirely, I wonder if we’ll get to see that true form before this season ends. And we learned in this conversation that Lavender is entirely devoted to Van, seems more like she’s obsessed with him over being in love with him but I did like that she and Rit kinda bonded over that love topic, perhaps if Van somehow gets redeemed we can get a spin-off where he and Lavender have their own slow life lol.

And the stuff with the Cardinal was quite goofy, both Red and Yarandrala really created a fake bar and staged a horse race (or I guess this world’s version of one lol) to get this guy in the palm of their hands, and it worked very nicely, but unfortunately with Van not listening to the Cardinal it probably won’t do any good that they tricked him. And lastly I kinda forgot about the whole ancient elven technology thing, that was one of the cool things I liked about this series.

I like the roundabout way Red and the others took to deescalate the conflict with Van, but all the viewers already know that the coming clash between the heroes can't be avoided.
Still, Lavander's beliefs might have slightly changed after she had that drunken love talk with Rit so maybe something will come out of it afterall.

It will be hard to manipulate the enemy since both Lavender and Van are already ape-sh*t crazy to begin with, and it seems they don't need any Blessing for them to be broken up there.
I am guessing Ruti will still need to clash with him and he might receive another set of ass-beating like before despite leveling his blessing as he mentioned given that he is not living up to being a real hero

Yup still want Van to die horribly and now we can add Lavender to the list! Though to be honest the one who needs to die most award should probably go to the F**ked up god that made this world.

@Mezino That's been true since the first season when we started seeing just how badly the 'blessing' screws people over, like urging literal children toward murder or making a young woman into little more than a mindless automaton in the name of 'saving the world', and that doesn't even take into account the amount of BS that people pull using their 'blessing' as a rationale. Its like Demis created a bunch of toys to clash against eternally against each other and play with, they're truly the real villain here.

That said, I'm having suspicions about Van and his blessing; after getting his butt handed to him by Ruti he focused on getting revenge in order to become the 'true hero', and he mentions it again this week... that suggests that his blessing is either a variant on hero or isn't hero at all and either Ljubo has been lying about it or Lavender has disguised it from detection out of her twisted love.

@Tarrian Yea something is definitely a miss with his blessing, but then again he comes across as a religious fanatic so based upon the god and how blessings work it could just be he hasn't had Red's influence like Rudi. He was raised by the church so...

With Van coming back to Zoltan after the small stifle, Red and the gang assimilate information that could help them defeat the new Hero's Party, along with Cardinal Ljubo and Lavender. Attempting a negotiation between the two instead, everyone backs each other so that there's support all around. Ruti's indomitable way vs. Van's invincible way to become a Hero based on Blessing, one can easily tell the two apart.

Together with Esta's help, Red and the gang go scouting for Van, Lavender and Ljubo. And Lavender being thrust into Rit's love talk with the love of their lives, it's easy to win her over since they're ladies. Rit's loyalty with Red is pretty much in the same vein as Lavender's loyalty to Van, but the most important thing is not to agitate her, which she did. Next is Ljubo at the gambling dragon races, which Red easily logs him with money, as well as alcohol with Yarandrala.

OK, the negotiations are still on the table, though Lavender is the most uncertain of her potential offenses.

I found this episode to be really good, the show is blending the slice of life with the serious stuff so well this season compared to S1. The main characters are being really smart with their preemptive operation to work on Lavender and the Cardinal to un-motivate them from supporting Van's plan to kill Ruti and wreck Zoltan. I really liked Rit's plan, it actually humanized Lavender more, to the point where I don't actually hate her as much. Apparently she's some sort of "unknown monster" obsessed with Van, while I can't fathom what she sees in Van, it makes sense now how she doesn't care about any atrocities Van causes to innocent people or monsters. It's possible Lavender was never allied nor friendly with any of the civilizations allied with the humans, perhaps her species doesn't even have tribes and factions, so WTF does she care if Van gets people killed or harms others. Not that I agree with Lavender's take, but I understand it. I also like how Rit's attempt has failed on the surface, as it would have been cliched had it worked. In terms of the storytelling, it succeeded in showing us Lavender's point-of-view. I like how Rit has built mutual respect with Lavender, and is on friendly terms with her now.

As for the Cardinal, I totally forgot that his position came from his blessing, so it would explain why he's so "un-cardinal-like" when it comes to him not really caring that much about Van causing collateral damage, his vices of gambling and such. He's less worse than Lavender as he sees and cares about the threat to humanity should Van die, or the made up "ancient elf artifact girl which guards humanity" would be lost. I liked how Red was able to convince the Cardinal to assist, but it still won't likely work since Van doesn't listen to him.

While the show has won me over to be more sympathetic to Lavender and the Cardinal, I still want Van to be killed. I don't want him to be convinced or resolved peacefully, because somebody like him can't be fixed. It's like convincing an insane person to choose to become sane, it just won't be very convincing if it happened. Given he's already killed innocent people and peaceful monsters already, he's already done damage and doesn't really deserve a redemption arc...not that he's really redeemable anyways.

I did love how Van is traumatized by getting his ass beat by Ruti, when Lavender mentions getting back at Ruti, Van has a traumatic flashback of getting punched. Then the Cardinal reminds him how he was severely injured, and he Van seethes. LOL, delicious! More deliciousness in the following episodes please!
