| I quite enjoyed this. Although the ending does seem like a deus-ex machina. I mean stock prices on two different days ? Also don't stock prices change very fast, even in a day ? Nevertheless, you have to appreciate Sawako for going through so much to help identify and track her murderer. Leaving aside the final few chapters, I like the way this manga went about investigating the murder. It's not just the protagonist and the cops making inferences out of their ass but doing solid work following up leads and building up evidence. Admittedly, not always ( a blue smudge on a painting being a car is a very hyper specific inference) but nonetheless, this was a refreshing take on the murder mystery genre. The characters were a bit thin and not super compelling but still it was nice to see Takeda getting some peace towards the end of his life. |
