One of the most well-known contemporary japanese directors Hirokazu Kore-eda will debut with the live-action adaptation of this series on Netflix. Since I am a fan of his work and I have watched almost all of his movies, this news makes me very much excited. If you have watched any of his highly awarded films you know this guy can make slice of life shine on the movie screen (try to watch his manga adaptation Our little sister then if you liked it go and try his more serious works).

The live-action series is now live on Netflix in the United States. As with most series, Netflix dropped the entire series at once. 9 episodes, about 38-45 minutes each.

just finished watching it, super heart broken, they took the "drama" too seriously.. so much of this is SO unfaithful to the manga. all these added characters, super annoying. they skipped, reordered, and disrespected some aspects of the karyukai. NOT good.

That's great news! Hirokazu Kore-eda is indeed a talented director, and I'm thrilled to hear that he's making a live-action adaptation of this series on Netflix. As a fan of his work and having watched many of his highly acclaimed films, I can vouch for his ability to bring slice of life stories to life on the big screen. For those who haven't experienced his movies yet, I highly recommend starting with the manga adaptation "Our Little Sister" and then exploring his more serious works. It's always exciting to see a masterful director take on new projects, and I can't wait to watch this upcoming series! https://www.smithandassociateshomes.com/greenville/

@yukinoneno I'm about halfway through, I haven't read the manga but if one isn't comparing the show seems quite good by itself. I usually consider all live-action adaptions as a separate thing, otherwise I would never enjoy anything ever.

As for cultural misrepresentations, that is sad to hear. Though way too common, it's rare to find a show that 100% nails it on that kind of details
