Why the low rating? Why isn't this more popular?

This show flew through my radar if it wasn't for my friend recommendation I would've missed this completely. To me this show is a straight 9 but then so far I haven't seen anything more beautiful than this with both plotwise and artistic for a tv series level. Damn even the soundtrack is very fitting, much more memorable than most of the anime nowadays. That's why I gave it 10/10 with a little bias.

Yet I've seen many comments in the forum saying: "meh", "boring". Why? This show never meant to be interesting with silly shounen adventures. If you don't like this kind of story why bother with it in the first place? I guess that's why the series isn't popular? If so it's still kinda strange that there are many so called "tear jerking" anime which is far more popular than this but disappointed me greatly.

For the ending I find it very understandable and satisfying nonetheless. Even though we don't get to see the golem last moment, it's a start for the Golem to appreciate his short remaining time with Somali. Knowing full well that she will be taken care of even when he is no longer with her.

Surely if there's anything greater than this I'm all ears but with low expectation.

I'm with you on this one through and through, and curious just the same. One thing to know is that the manga allegedly was cancelled by the mangaka.

the score doesn't matter, I've seen shows with high ratings but most of the reviews give complete opposite ratings, whereas there are hidden gems with low rating but the community call them masterpieces, so it really doesn't matter,if you enjoy it, then it all that matters, and also the popularity of anime shows how successful of the show, but its quality lies within the community of the show

Because most people have shitty taste of anime.

Like overpowered stuff or mainstream's edgy kiritod MC.

It is amazing but the problem is with different people it hits differently. It is a deep anime that if you hadn't watched a ton of things with this kind of deepness, you won't understand it. That's why a lot of people see it as "boring" or "meh". I would really like to see a second season of this anime. Also I think Anitubers reviewing it will help a lot.

Rating is fine. The reason is average story. As a user above said but with the wrong choice of words - the main goal of anime seems to be make u feel certain emotions and sometimes it wanna make u cry. The emotions were felt but were not that deep cause there is nth special about plot though Animation and music are beautiful.
It is shocking to find how many people do not believe they can learn, and how many more believe learning to be difficult.

For some its easy 10/10.

For retards it only can be 4/10 or less. Both are valid since they are personal oppinion.



Now, avoiding MY personal oppinion about this anime and trying to interpret the average MAL user:

- The plot.

It started with many possibilities, from perfect happy end to a complete tragedy.

But ended not that far from the same situation when it started. Golem is going to come back to dust soon, Somali still a brat, world still a no-no for humans.

"More important are the feelings and the friends we made along the way"

Lol

It is disapointing to average MAL user. The score is fair to these people.

it's one of my favorite animes. seriously. 9/10. i probably only have 15 of those (not sure, i didn't count)

no idea why it isn't rated higher. but then i look at the 3 reviews on the main page and the "not recommended" one literally starts by complaining about the creepy "dad" looking after a little girl and implies it's for nefarious reasons. uh... what? they then call the show "wholesome" IN. THE. SAME. REVIEW. but only give it a 3/10 rating. i don't know, but some people are just really stupid
