As expected, it all falls on Maeshima and the others at Ionodai for the final performance delivery.

Sasugai and Coach Adachi trying to aim for 1st place by having the team be reckless and going past limits, it comes at both a blessing and a curse, but the proof lies in the payoff of skating from the heart. And of course, they struck gold.

Maeshima and Shinozaki's rivalry never ends, but at least they're like parrots bickering back and forth at their own pleasures.

The one sole sigh of relief I have is: thank God everything was resolved within their own perimeters, so that'a a good thing.

A decent ending of closure, but it isn't enough to save the entire show as a whole.

Omg I'm so glad they won, with how some shows go, had me thinking they'd actually lose this, especially when Jounochi made a mistake, but thanks to everyone encouraging Maeshima on especially Sasugai, he was able to do his thing in a one off miracle. Someday he will pull off that move again.

Cute post match scenes, especially the bit of Sasugai angst but then happiness with Maeshima's appreciative words and desires to go farther with him.

Best.

I was very confused about who won the final until the last minute of the episode, but I’m glad that Ionodai won.

And, maybe is only me, but because of the various introduction by Sasugai, to me he seemed more protagonist that Maeshima.

Holy shit this episode dilivered imo. Nothing more satisfying than seeing giga Chad maeshima claiming the gold medal... And that scene at the end with sasugai holy fungus this show is awesome. 8/10

Nowww... Season 2 when

I know it's a small possibility but I NEED MORE SASUGAI AND MAESHIMA

I'm still not clear on the result. First of all, how many awards? Maybe they give medal to all separate categories, like Short program, Free program, and Overall program, or something like Team award and individual award (which I'm pretty sure this is what Maeshima won).

I thought they lost and Maeshima was giving Reo's gold medal to his brother because he was the one who thought him how to skate.

Well, it was a boring show in my opinion. The plot and characters weren't interesting or likeable/hateable. They were just there and I didn't feel anything about any of them.

Ionodai won the grand prix and each team member got a gold medal. I thought 8t was pretty straight forward

All or nothing for Ionodai. 2nd place should never be the mindset. If your opponent set the bar high, set yours higher and that is exactly what Ionodai did. Pushing limits, breaking boundaries, leaving it all on the ice. Even if the performance wasn't perfect, Ionodai danced their heart out.

I only enjoyed the first episode and the final one, sadly. Only 2 eps cant save the whole thing.
I agree with you about the pacing, characters and everything. There were a lot of problems with almost everything with the show. No need to go into detail.

Anyway, 4/10 from me.

This show was such a weird experience. I have so many questions and so much disappointment regarding this show. I feel like the creators didn't exactly put a lot of thought behind the characters or the plot line itself. The show was made just for showing pretty boys and skating, I guess.

Art was good though so that was the plus point.

Hmm, I liked the first few episodes, but then it was sort of a mix between a bit of enjoyment in each episode to just being stone faced. Tbh, some of the actual skating wasn't even that interesting to me, I was hoping for more character growth, especially from Shinozaki. Turns out this whole time he just didn't know how to express himself. His interaction with Maeshima near the end of this episode was really wholesome though, pretty much was I wanted to see in the show, but we only got to see a bit of it. Also Sasugai as well, he wanted to beat his brother, but I didn't feel much satisfaction or sense of achievement from him at the end of the episode. I guess their relationship still hasn't changed much from the beginning of this series?

Well, all in all, there were fun parts for sure, and I was engaged at least half the time. But in the end, there's nothing really special about the show, nor did it do anything particularly well :/

Loved the character designs though :>

Predictable end, this anime was pretty generic if you ask me. The character development was decent and art was fine. Not a memorable anime, so I doubt there'll be a season 2 and they should keep it that way. The only thing I'll take away from this series is the OP, but I think I'll forget it in a few weeks time lmao

Yep, no shit Ionodai win the grand prix final with all of he could do. As expected as ever. Even the direction through the final announcement looked pretty much confusing, with the time-skip decision. But the end gold medal confirmed the end result of their hardwork. Its over. But their fate to skate all over the place still wide-open to challenge every competition through those world. Even if they may take such a different opportunate. Yep. End credit has been role!

As a sport anime, these one is truly the best definition of a fine show. Some parts were absolutely entertaining, when the others kinda suck the balls so much. But at the end, its just fine. Sasugai perfectly done his role as the differenciator character to brought the whole series into the higher level. Then Maeshima proved himself to be a fine-developed MC right till the end.

Final scores: high 6/10.

Despite Jounouchi messing up the routine, Ionodai still managed to win the gold in the end, huh? Sure...

Well, honestly glad this mediocre show is finally over. Leaving Sasugai's character aside, absolutely every aspect of this spokon was subpar. Drama/conflicts were poorly handled and cast was extremely generic with Shinozaki being too one-dimensional despite being the "rival". They kinda tried to give him more personality this episode but of course, it was already too late for me to even care.

3/10 - So yeah, Sasugai was the only decent thing I can name in all this. Him and his smug/snarky personality basically carried the show in my opinion.

It was an alright series...the plot had way too many things going on in it for such a short series. I think if it was longer it would have been better. The only thing I really enjoyed about this series was Sasugai and his sarcastic ass lmao, he was the best part of the series for me. Though I can't decide if I want to rate this a 4 or a 5 probably a 5 just because I liked Sasugai so much. Kind of shitty though that it didn't show much of the brothers I wanted them to forgive each other and did the team members even know they were brothers?

Of course this wasn't the best spokon anime ever made, but at least it kept me entertained. I especially loved the costumes' design for all the teams, they were really gorgeous! (for example: the twins' team costumes ♥).

I'll give it a 5/10.

I really enjoyed when they won and I liked the comedy in this anime, I really would like to see the new coach and what will happen in the world championship and how the relationship of Shinozaki and Maeshima will be. This anime really needs a new season.

You mean the main team? They won and got 1st place. The gold medal that Maeshima held towards Sasugai is the kicker.

not rly a fan of this anime but watching this last ep was pretty fun. they wrapped it up nicely, leaving room for another season if they ever will make one but also in a way thats still good to leave at without one.

I really enjoyed this episode. While the anime was tedious to say, I gotta say I enjoyed it. Shinozaki was my fav and his with Maeshima's interactions in this episode were the best.

I'm just confused about one thing though. Where is the misunderstanding?? Did Reo meant that Kensei should give up on his family? It didn't make sense in English or Spanish imo

Good old sports-shounen anime ending. As before, I wish there was more actual skating animated and in better quality at that. It seems like the only episode they really did well was the first one.

To be honest, the whole thing between Sasugai and Shinozaki was left unexplained to me. Was it really just jealousy that drove Sasugai to not only spend the rest of his childhood planning how to bring down his brother but to run away from home because of it? I wasn't much of a fan of his character anyway so it doesn't matter that much but I sill wished for them to make up and start getting closer again in the end.
At least Maeshima and Shinozaki developed a friendly bond, which was also something I wished to see, but in a much bigger amount during the whole series, not just in the end like this.

I had a feeling everything was a misunderstanding and that this is one of the rare sports-shounen anime were the rival isn't an asshole... until that episode with the reporters. No matter how socially awkward you are, that right there was called arrogance.

Still, I knew what I was signing up for when I started watching this (after all, it was because of Kamiya Hiroshi and the fact that I like figure skating) and, honestly, I unexpectedly found this show quite enjoyable. Don't know if it was just because my expectations were really low though.
I'll still remember it as the anime where the MC doesn't appear in the opening (with a nice song at that).

I enjoyed this for what it was, a budget idol sports anime.

Like another anime I finished (Urasekai Picnic) it ended pleasant enough but dropped a little with it's potential from episode one.

They should've showed the detailed scoring of their results.

But how come they won? It was clearly visible that one of them slipped while spinning, just that is enough for the score to decrease.

The way they openly mock other athletes saying things like “I will win” “you cannot win” is so annoying, it doesn't happen in reality but then again it's a typical thing in sports anime so I'll just have to bare with it.

Overall 5/10.

I‘m actually relieved this show is over since i didn’t enjoy it that much. It had some quite okay moments but after the first episodes it was just predictable and boring.
Which is sad because I think the idea itself had a lot of potential but they kinda wasted it.
I just continued to watch because i love watching figure skating. (And then was annoyed how unrealistic this was.)

And Horimiya, that horrible, mediocre, mess of a show, is supposed to be better than this?

This was much more expressive and amazing. The only thing that would lose out to Horimiya is the music. While they are both different genres, I still don't get how this can have a lower score.

The only two things that disappointed me was the lack of good music during the skating, like in Yuri on Ice. And two, how Maeshima was still stuck on winning against Shinozaki until the end. I really wanted to see him focus more on his own skating than on Shinozaki.

This is why I'm really hoping for a second season. Including Maeshima's growth, their new coach and incoming first years, Adachi's return to skating and much more, I think there's still a lot the creators can work with for a second season.

8/10 for me!

And also, what I don't get is why so many people keep comparing this to "realistic" figure skating? This is fiction, for entertainment purpose only. Not non-fiction. If you want realistic, then why the heck are you here? Go watch real figure skating!

I am glad that Maeshima didn't get choosen for national team. I am happy that Ionodai win simply because Shionozaki annoy me so much. At the same time, I would be annoyed too if someone like Maeshima get chosen for national team.
