DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- isn"t CC corp afraid of being sued for intentionally preventing the recovery of who knows how many comatose patients? don't they think that the recovery of these victims would go a long way towards preventing the governments of the world from forcibly shutting down "the world" as a public menace? haven't they considered the fact that this sort of callous act is exactly the sort of thing that will destroy whatever cover up they currently have in place? are they blithering idiots or sadistic b******s who like to see small children suffer for the crime of giving them money? honestly, even if either of those was the case their legal department should have beaten some sense into them, most likely with the help of public relations and possibly human resources since there's no way this wouldn't destroy company loyalty. then again, i suppose i'm thinking too much. this is just a third-rate anime after all. |

And, we get to see Aura again. I like it when I can recognize things like this. And Reki, hey, what are you doing with her? Seriously, come back to our side! >.< |

| "Someone is trying to destroy this world" First, I can't take the Counsel of Darkness seriously when they look like a bunch of 10 year olds in their parents' apartment. I keep expecting one of their mothers to walk in to offer milk and cookies while they're plotting the destruction of an online game. I mean, wouldn't a DDoS attack be a lot easier than all this? Thus far, the idea of Kite and BlackRose being legacy characters passed down to younger players is quite fascinating. However, everything else has really been par for the course. Not that I was expecting anything fantastic, but it's still interesting to try and pick apart anime that wasn't made to be picked apart. It was probably a quick cash-in on the franchise that's quite meta in a sense: instead of playing .hack as Kite, you're now watching an anime about a kid living the fantasy of being Kite. However, I don't think this is the manner which a fan of .hack would have played in the shoes of Kite. Oh, and also, Sanjuro and Balmung traveled with Kite. Without knowing what happened in the PS2 games, I'm assuming something similar has happened in the past with regards to people having their lives endangered through playing in The World. Shouldn't...shouldn't they have experience in dealing with this crap? Also, I don't know enough about the PS2 games to really say, but wasn't overusing Data Drain a bad thing? With Kamui, is she acting out of spite or something? It seemed like she was willing to endanger innocent lives just to one-up Balmung. And speaking of Kamui, Shugo lost another tooth as part of the running gag when she smacked him. Was...was that really the proper time for that? |
| shugo stopped being interesting long time now, but the development is really bad. it's not that i expected a lot from 13 anime episodes but it took the wrong direction. |
