I'm not disgusted at their relationship, currently at episode 16.
Something that made me feel unease is how Shinbo keeps pushing his feeling towards Shimizu.
Shimizu must've been happy that there's someone who cared so much about her, Shimizu at first hesitated, she must've felt uncomfortable, feeling guilty about the teacher-student relationship developed into a romance one.
MC told Shimizu that if she wants to make a decision, it is best to choose one that she would be comfortable with.
However, Shinbo made that decision for her that it is best if she be with him.
OK, looking at this from a logical analysis of the situation, yes sure, ending up with someone who would be willing to give you sure is great.
HOWEVER, if we look at this from the perspective of emotion, thought, conflict and aftermath feeling... It felt sad
Shimizu should be the one to decide, not Shinbo, he was supposed to be the one to show her there is such a path and it is up to her to choose it.
Shinbo's presence in her life should be one that begins with lightening her heart first, comforting her and rolling the bubble to where she feels like want to go.
I'm not against their relationship, I'm just against the way Shinbo does it.
If it is a one-sided feeling, it wouldn't ended up with just he himself being hurt, but as a mental defensive mechanism, he might ends up hurting her as well more than emotionally making it difficult for her already.
ALRIGHT
Since this is a forum, and I've made my point, I should share my thought on how it would've seems appropriate and comfortable.
Shinbo actually made a fine step in the beginning, I think it would be best to start it off as friendship, confession is fine but keeping it stable and informing the second person is also important.
WHY?
Because through the natural friendship relation, that's where a comfortable zone is being slowly built up through unspoken mutual agreement.
The moment the second person finally reach the stage of intimacy where romance is comfortable for them is the moment when flower blooms the most beautiful.
Having Shimizu divorces her husband and go on to a romance stage, that's how it would be comfortable for her!
Because there would be no uncomfortable self-conscious guilt of cheating.
Taking the perspective of Shinbo, his purpose in that relationship isn't to make Shimizu HIS woman, but to save her from a saddening, broken world of hers.
To love a person isn't to make them yours, isn't to posseses them, but is to build a better world for them, not dragging them into yours and it doesn't mean you wouldn't be included in their world. Naturally, due to the role you played in their life, your existence alone solidified the foundation of her own world, became an essential part of her.
That, is when a woman naturally finds themself dedicated to you, loving you whole heartedly, appreciate your existence even after your departure from the world but will also become the most painful thing in her life because the most important part of her life is a unique one that couldn't be replaced, which is also why many people who have lost their partner couldn't find another one.
Everyone's world is built up of gears, however the most important part is a unique gear to move them all, the one and only. It is almost impossible to find a perfect replacement for that. Those who moved on to find another partner were those who were able to fold their previous world and put into the box, to rebuild a new one with someone else.
Although, moving on is possible, most would still find themself wanting to stay in the world where the unique gear is missing, for that world had become a sacred sanctuary they wish to protect.
