Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Lagann-Hen worth watching?

I just finished Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and loved it. But then there is Tengen
Toppa Gurren Lagann: Lagann-Hen TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN – GUREN-HEN
And i'm not sure if i'm supposed to watch them after the anime or not. I watched parts of TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN – GUREN-HEN and i didn't really understand what was going on. Is it some sort of recap of the anime? And is it worth watching either of them at all? I'm kind off confused about that. I skipped randomly on the first one and didn't understand anything it looked like parts from the original but slightly changed.

YES IT CERTAINLY IS!!! My favorite way of watching TTGL is by watching the anime series until lord genome is defeated and then watch Lagann-hen afterwards. It tells the story of the 2nd season much better and added alot of cool stuff to the already awesome series. Seriously dont hesitate to watch this if you liked the TV series.

The two movies (Gurren-hen & Lagann-hen) are recaps with new animations and some changes. As a fan of the original series, I enjoyed them.

Might as well do it. Rewatched TTGL and remembered how much I loved it.

The last 1/3 of the film somehow put the show even more over the top compared to the TV series.

And it was amazing.

If you enjoyed the series, especially the 2nd half, then I would say to skip the 2nd movie especially. A lot of the nuances are lost in the movies, with the 2nd movie completely ruining a lot of great moments in the anime series, such as
1. Kitan's goodbye to Yoko and his sacrifice
2. Having the anti-spiral reveal to everyone during the final battle that Nia will vanish once it is defeated. If you remember, in the original series only Simon knew and so the post wedding scene was even more tragic.
3. Rasiu's betrayal of Simon and the emotional anguish he goes through when he puts Simon in jail.
4. Having an even less believable explanation for the spiral nememis. I think the series'explanation was way better and more believable.

Yes, the final fight is awesome but it doesn't make up for the sub-par changes to some elements of the story, horrible execution of pivotal moments and mediocre soundtrack.

I'd say skip the 2nd movie entirely.
