That's the image of the boss? Huh how odd. At least we got some answers I suppose in this chapter.

Still couldn't care less about Abbacchio but I'll admit that he pulled through in the end.

They need to upgrade their Stands with the arrow.
But man, I can't get used to that "ringa ringa ringa, linga linga linga, ling ling" thing, he is too weird.

Abbacchio's death happened so suddenly that he didn't even realize that he'd already passed away and finally reunited with his friend until long. He might be gone for good now but he left his comrades a lead towards the truth they've all been searching for as his ultimate act of redeeming himself from his past actions.

He was very abrasive but he was still part of the team. This is the second time I've seen him die but I couldn't help but cry again anyway...

This chapter was pretty beautiful and integral to some major ideas of Jojo.

Abbacchio faces his past, he sees the partner that he got killed picking up the pieces of broken bottles to find fingerprints. Strenuous work which will ultimately lead to nothing, as if his partner was trying to fix the broken system itself. His partner tells him that it doesn't matter if he doesn't achieve the result because it's the will to seek the truth which matters. And that will may have been distorted but has been found once more within Abbacchio.

What does this have to do with the larger themes of the franchise? Ever since Phantom Blood, a motif of Jojo is sacrifice. Jonathan could not have survived nor defeated Dio without Will Zeppeli's sacrifice. But not only his, Bruford and Dire's sacrifices were crucial to the victory. This is an idea we see throughout every single part, the idea that the only way one can achieve the result they desire is counterintuitively disregarding the result. It is by facing the insurmountable odds in front of oneself, and holding that will to move forward close. It is about ultimately playing your small part, no matter how pointless it may feel because it is through all of our efforts combined which the truth we seek will be realized.

Abbacchio lost his sense of agency within the nihilism that surrounded him. Yet by fighting alongside Buccelati, that will was reignited and just like his police partner was looking for a small piece of the puzzle no matter how strenuous the job was, Abbacchio did the same.

Maybe spelling all of this out is overkill because it's basically explicitly stated. However, I wanted to give it some extra care because making this realization, how Abbacchio plays into the ideas of Jojo through his character arc, felt important to me. It is the difference between thinking that he was underdeveloped and disregarding this as a cool set piece, and thinking he was a good character for me.

Edit: 'a cool set piece' doesn't even begin to describe it. I was too busy talking about the meaning behind the death of Abbacchio to the franchise as a whole, I missed it for what it was in the present. Having just watched it in the anime, I was reimbursed with passion to come back and edit this.

There is a raw brutality to the death in Vento Aureo. Stardust Crusaders treated us to quick and shocking death, however I feel it has gone to the next level here. Be it Polpo's forced suicide, or Abbacchio being slaughtered, they feel like cold-blooded mob hits. The characters are in a moment of peace, completely unguarded, and in the next moment they are dead. It happens in the snap of a finger. It's awesome in the truest sense of the word. Moreover to strengthen this, the fact that it was so quick for Abbacchio meant we had Kira's death all over again. Dying so quick he doesn't even realize what has happened. That is a classified bruh moment if I've ever seen one. So my verdict is, this is a meaningful scene and one which paints the tone of the overall part black. I love it.

Man.. Really sad and emotional chapter. The whole abacchio section was fantastic and I love how even though he hated him, he made a plan that only Giorno could find. I love it

Rip Boi, I actually thought Giorno would manage to heal him.
