| Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann The first seven episodes give you an entirely different impression of what it will be about. It's good to keep in mind that they saved 40% of the animation budget for the last five episodes of a 27 episode series too. And it looks like Little Busters, Little Busters: Refrain is going to be similar to Clannad (no coincidence since the same company did both VNs). Majestic Prince might fall into this category although some would debate whether it just simply started off as cheesy and bad, but after the first half-dozen episodes there was a notable change in tone and drama level. |

Even despite the name. Though I think it changes more gradually in the first half, the second half simply starts off as darker, but can still get a bit darker anyway. Simoun. Tends to get darker and more awesome as it goes on. Sure, someone dies right off the bat, but it's still overall fairly light hearted and has young girls all over the place, but gets darker for sure.
