Hey
I am looking for an new Anime after i finished Bakemonogatari.

I want something >22episodes.
A little bit like Steins Gate.
I donßt mean especially with time Travels, no I mean this good atmosphere and nice Story.
I would prefer it, when it is a little "darker" or dramatical.

regraz
#1-4:I had the feeling to kill myself
#5:Ok, would never watch it again #6: Nice Time
#7:very satisfying, easy to watch, interesting themes, good Enjoyment, good Feeling
#8-9:even better
#10:Kept me the whole time on the edge of my bed. Content to think about. Just awesome.
##It heavily depends when I watched it. So something from five years ago would get now definitely an different Score than then.
##Dislike most Comedy-Shows and over the top wimp-guys. #"wrong" behavior in important Situations. #Characters who always have the same dumb personality/or want to help the enemy

Ghost in the Shell: SAC is on your PTW list, I'd suggest that. It's a really good story... quite a thriller, to be honest. I enjoyed it. And it's 'dark', but not too much, you know?

Heavy on atmosphere with plenty of sophisticated storytelling. Just make sure you power through the first several episodes.

Katanagatari if you want something similair to Bakemonogatari. It has 12 eps, but they're 45 mins long so it's more than 22 regular eps.

For sophisticated anime, I have to second Monster, Kino's Journey and Maruwaru Penguindrum.

You should also check out
Paprika
Mouryou no Hako
Kara no Kyoukai

A well rounded, thought provoking show? Yes. Sophisticated? Not so much.

Aoi Bungaku Series
Eve no Jikan (Movie)
Fate/Zero - Some may disagree, but it is unquestionably sophisticated. Lots of dialogue and strategic battles.
Kara no Kyoukai - 7 movies. Presented very well.
Texhnolyze

If you want sophistication at its brim, where you could compare it to a brilliant beacon of class, you should scratch out your episode restriction and watch shows like Monster and Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
I'm also filled with pure-hearted ulterior motives.

I second that motion,

If you really follow the story and immerse yourself in the universe of GITS it's one hell of a show.

I'm just saying that two of the most sophisticated shows I've seen are 70+ episodes each.

LOL apparently I'm blind. Misread the OP.

Mirai Nikki, if you haven't watch it yet. I think it was even one of the recommendations for Steins;gate lovers. Dark and it was pretty sophisticated. I'm 99% sure you'll like it.

Good Suggestions thus far, also adding Mononoke (The TV Series...Not the Movie that Studio Ghibi made)

You'll find a more 'classy' degree of 'sophistication' with longer seasons in my opinion. Starting with Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Rose of Versailles, Monster and Master Keaton. Remember to keep that pinky stiff and upright whilst sipping your tea, good chap.

For currently airing shows, Psycho pass'll make you feel more urmmm "sophisticated" when you're watching it.

My friend said kino no tabi was about different governmental systems and stuff so you'd probably feel smart when you watch that.

Haibane renmei will make you think a lot, but I see you weren't too big of a fan of lain, so idk. It's pretty hard to recommend since my definition of "sophisticated" is probably different than yours XD

These, also anything done by Mamoru Oshii (except Urusei Yatsura obviously)

1.) Look at my list...
2.) Why are so many guys into that Series?
I mean, i read the manga and it wasn´t very good , but then i somehow managed to watch the Anime and it wasn´t so good like everybody is doing....
Good, yes but nothing to suggest.
