| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- How cute that Akio drew Conan with Ayumi. Kind of a template Detective Boys episode, they find a lead super RANDOMLY then the police can't do anything, Conan goes off on his own, they follow him he tells them no they can't help, they persuade him, then they catch the bad guy and get yelled at by the police. |

| It really is a template for a cliche detective boys episode. Them stupidly misunderstanding and getting involved in something. The police not able to do something about it so they do it themselves. Conan for the thousandth time leaves them alone and tries to do it himself, gets caught, and allows them to help him for some childish reason while making them promise not to do anything rash. OF COURSE, one does do something rash and almost gets them caught. Conan comes in and saves the day, some little joke about Conan and Ayumi getting together with Genta and Mitsuhiko mad for some stupid reason. And the next time, this will repeat itself. Why the hell are their parents even letting them hang out with Conan. How many times has Ayumi had a gun to her head. Found what looks to be a small plot hole though. Akio drew the same thing on the picture he took in the kidnapper's hideout as he did when he was on the school roof. Even though they already saw that from the roof you can't see it at the same angle. |

| Yep the typical cut and paste detective boys episode. You'd think after nearly getting killed multiple times they would all learn not to act so stupidly in each new case. Meguire should have slapped the lot of them. |

| It's adorable how the grandfather had Akio's drawing framed and hanged in the wall! And to think they're rich. They could've afford a much beautiful painting from pro artists! |
 She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did! |
| geez 'till we got some kidnapping case it's treated this way. |
| I really enjoyed this one. I appreciate cases that are a break from the typical murder mystery formula and I thought the chase in this one was especially fun. It also felt like it was solvable for the kids given the clues were in the drawings which made it feel a little more believable than normal. Giving Ayumi a bit more of the focus was nice as well given she is often underutilised. |
